The Curious Palate is much more than a place to have a meal. It is a meeting house for coworkers and friends. We’ve got a comfortable dining room and spacious patio just steps from the Arclight movie theater neighborhood on the dining deck of Santa Monica Place. There’s plenty of room for families, dogs, and groups of friends to gather. Enjoy 20 taps of craft beer, cider and kombucha direct from local independent brewers, a selection of wines from around the world, and delicious food made by hand from delicious, wholesome ingredients. The Curious Palate is a real gem. The menu has just enough variation to meet anyone’s taste but didn’t feel too overwhelming. Great veg options but plenty of meat options as well. The best part? The food was GOOD, like really good. I had the ceviche and fish tacos and both were amazing, one of the most flavorful meals I’ve had in LA. The restaurant is unpretentious and welcoming but still chic, the staff is friendly and the owners clearly care about the guest experience. I will for sure be back.

I really like this place. The service is great (although the host the past two times was a confused millennial) , the menu easy and good.. Food super yummy. Nice drinks. It's next to the movie theater so you can do both. Because of their tucked back location it doesn't feel like it's in a mall. All good here.

Good selection for everyone. Excellent and attentive service. Owner was also there, he was on the floor assisting. Great experience.

We absolutely loved this place!!! Went for lunch on a Thursday- had great service, great food, and were so impressed by the attention to detail for all things (including the artwork). There is homemade ketchup even! My nephew got the kids menu fish and chips, I got the spicy chicken wrap and my sister got the swordfish tacos- each one of us equally loved our meal. My salad with my wrap had the best dressing and great golden beets. I will absolutely go back, and highly recommend anyone in Santa Monica to do the same. Skip the pretentious, what could be tourist trap food spots and go here- you won't be disappointed!

Luckily, i allowed myself plenty of time to relax and have dinner here before catching a show at the theater. The location was very convenient. I sat outside and the weather was gorgeous. While I was there, there were at least three other tables that were seated outside. They all came, ordered, ate, and left before me. Service was terrible. At the end, I was the only table left and waited almost 30 minutes before I got my check. Overall, I was there for 1.5 hours, which is a long time considering I had a burger and two glasses of wine. Thankfully, the quality of the food was far better than the service. I would go back again because I thought it was a great deal for the price. But I would ask for a different server (had a younger guy), for sure!!
