My wife and I enjoyed the food, the ambiance of the restaurant and the live band! Would recommend it highly to friends.
Great place , great food, great service! 5 stars!
The food, the service the ambiance are all incredible. 10+ from start to finish!
Just about a perfect visit
Ahi Tuna salad was delicious! Waiter was excellent!!
A friend’s birthday celebration!
We had lunch at the Culver Hotel with my husband’s family while visiting in May. No one in our group had been here before. The dining area is beautiful and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the seared tuna salad. The tuna was prepared perfectly. The rest of our group liked the hamburgers and Cuban sandwiches that were ordered. The breakfast and brunch menu also looked very interesting. I would definitely go back again.
Excellent food, quality cocktails, great service in a historic setting.
We got tea service for three for my best friends birthday and got the same amount of sandwiches and cookies that we had gotten wen we went in January and got tea service for 2. The ambiance and service is great but I felt like we were short changed.
Celebrated my daughter’s birthday with lunch at this delightful place. Classic early 20th century vibe, elegant decor, delicious well-presented food, wonderful service. Felt very fancy but comfortable as well.
UNFORTUNATELY, WE DID NOT MAKE IT TO THE HOTEL ON SUNDAY. LAST MINUTE CHANGE IN PLAN. I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT CANCELING!!! WE LOOK FORWARD TO VISITING FOR BRUNCH IN MAY. THANK YOU.
Wait staff was initially very attentive, but then appeared to have forgotten about us. Valet service took 15 minutes to get car. Ambiance was beautiful and food was so-so.
Great little neighborhood gem! And a historic hotel at that. Loved our food it was great and the service was fine as well.
Culver Hotel Lobby restaurant is a great place to hang out and eat. Great atmosphere and live music (not sure which days). The only drawback is that the drinks aren't too strong. Food is great. On a nice day, the back patio is an awesome place to sit.
It was amazing. Service was great and everything was perfect
Our experience at the culver hotel has improved with every visit. The service is great these days, and I couldn’t be happier. I just wished they put the s’mores back on the menu.
Their drinks are great, generously portioned and definitely not weak. My old fashioned could have knocked out a horse.
The Culver Hotel is a beautiful building with cozy areas for conversation as well as dining tables. I enjoyed the area where the hotel is located as well. Service is excellent. My salad of seared ahi, however, did not meet expectations. It was okay. The price was reasonable, so no worries. Coffee was really good.
Some friends and I met for brunch and a movie in Culver City. The Culver Hotel is so beautiful and full of light from the large windows. It is a well taken care of historic building. You feel the film legacy of the area and can enjoy a lovely environment with fireplaces and large windows. Their food is pretty good too. My friend enjoyed the bottomless mimosas quite a lot.
Ahi tuna salad was way too salty!
Also quinoa burger too salty
This was likely our best experience at the Culver Hotel. Service was good (which is more than most times). Our drinks were refilled quickly. Cocktails were delicious, food were generously portioned, and it was a great experience.
Took my mother, who was visiting me in Los Angeles for the first time, to the Culver Hotel for afternoon tea. I was incredibly disappointed with my experience. I made the reservation almost a week prior, and called 24 hours in advance (as requested on their Website), to inform the hotel that we would like to have their afternoon tea at 1 pm the following day. We arrived promptly, but were not seated until 20 minutes after our initial reservation. The service was incredibly slow. We did not end up dining until nearly an hour after our reservation. We repeatedly asked for various things (water, milk for our tea, sugar, etc.) to no avail.
The food was very good, service friendly and accommodating The ambiance is very lively and energetic- if you want to talk and enjoy your companions, sit in the back room.
I’d highly recommend and will definitely return.
The brunch was delicious and the dining area in the hotel is quiet but retains the beautiful character of the building.
Overall it was a good experience. Vast choice of food. Room was lit softly. Music was great.
Hesitant to share how much we enjoyed our special tea because we don't want it to get too popular. We had a great experience from our warm welcome from the hostess to the exceptional service from Melanie our server. The food was exceptionally tasty and light and is made on sight. We totally overate and then were presented with a scrumptious creme brulee fot the birthday girl. Thought we couldn't take another bite but tasted it to be polite....it was only fabulous. Will return for brunch, lunch, drinks, dinner as soon as we can.
It is always hit or miss here when it comes to service, and this time, unfortunately, the service was atrocious.
The waitress was busy, it wasn't her fault, but that doesn't change the fact that it took us 20 minutes for our orders to be taken, and another 20 to get our drinks - and since bottomless mimosas end at 3, we wanted to get the drinks started.
As always, the food was excellent, and once we got good and drunk, we were quite happy, but it was still a chore to get refills on our drinks. My bf had to go to the bar several times to get our drinks refilled because our waitress was in the back somewhere with another party.
Regardless, we will still be coming back. I guess it is a good thing that service is just so exceptionally bad here, I would say 4/5 times it is awful - and we have been here a LOT, otherwise this place would be jam packed, because the food and drinks really are very, very good.
My friend and I spent a very pleasant Sunday afternoon with a late brunch at the Culver Hotel. We shared a couple of dishes and had some wine outside on one of the taller tables.
It wasn’t very noisy most of the time which is one of our main criteria for sharing meals. Our hamburgers and fries and a beet and persimmon salad were excellent.
We would come back here at least at this time of the day whenever we have the chance.
Sat on the beautiful patio for Sunday brunch with a good friend. Great service and a wonderful experience.
We enjoyed our experience except for the service which was extremely slow. It was on a Saturday for brunch and they were very crowded. We will try again during the week and hopefully we'll be served in a more timely manner.
Even with a reservation, there was still a 20 minute wait before we were seated. I put in my reservation notes that we would like to be on the patio, but then was told that my notes were never received. We agreed to sit inside until a patio table was ready. Not a single server or member of staff waited on us while we were waiting for our table.
Once outside, we were asked by 3 different servers if we wanted drinks. Our drink order which was 3 waters and 1 milk didn’t come until 15 minutes later. My husband even walked across the street in the mean time to get a coffee and came back before the water arrived.
The food came out about 40 minutes later and we had a hard time locating our server so we could pay.
If you have lots of time to burn and the patience of a saint then this is your place. It has sooo much potential to be outstanding. Loved the food and want to come back for cocktails but maybe sitting at the bar will be a better experience than outside.
The Culver Hotel is one of my favorite places to have a drink. But I had never eaten there. The food was outstanding. Teresa our server was incredibly nice and very helpful. The Jazz Quartet was phenomenal. I can’t express how great a time we had.
Probably the smoothest experience I've had at the Culver Hotel so far. We got a nice comfy couch on which to sit, and the food and service was great. Usually it's one or the other.
We arrived at 1 PM and were seated outside. However, NO service was provided. After 20 minutes we reminded the host who said she would send waitstaff to us. They never came and we attempted to leave, but the host convinced us to return to our table and promised a waiter would arrive. No one came after additional 10 minutes so we left. Funny thing: two women who arrived and were seated after us were promptly attended to. Maybe if we were two women and not two men we would have received timelier services. I’d to think it was an oversight but after reminding the host twice, we should have received some service. I felt discriminated against. I hope it is not the case, but it sure does smell funny.
Holiday prefix menu expensive for cold picked over items served buffet style.
We went on Christmas day for the brunch. It was $55 per head, which I expected. The food was okay, not great, not much variation when you pay that for a buffet, not even table service. I expected a bit more variety. The dessert offering was sad, little nibbles of things that tasted like they came from the grocery store. The patio was nice. And, although the waiter was attentive, I would have appreciated knowing before I booked that they were going to add a 20% tip for 3 people. Overall a disappointment.
We went for the Christmas lunch buffet, which was delicious. The room was decorated beautifully and the service was attentive, though not at all rushed. This is one of my favorite places in downtown Culver City and does not disappoint.
Service was OK, but waiter did not give us all menu details. Then at the end, two servers both brought checks!
Ambience was noisy and crowded.
As a high tea lover I was very excited to come here for birthday/christmas celebrations. I was soon very disappointed. Staff was INCREDIBLY slow considering how empty the place was. Our waitress was a total space cadet, bringing hot water without anything else (not milk, etc.). The real reason I go to tea is truly for the scones and the scones here were inedible. No birthday acknowledgement was the final touch!
Disappointing experience overall... The food was ok, but I was expecting the service and ambience to be classy and old school to match the setting. Not so. The lady at the front desk was rude and didn't acknowledge us at all at first, more interested in the phone call she was making. The service was functional and slow, the waitress was charmless and wasn't particularly interested... Nothing super bad, just not what I was hoping for and certainly not an experience to match the surroundings...
Perfect date night ambiance with the great food, wine, cocktails, intimate seating, live jazz, and beautiful old hotel decor, and then the back bar that is upstairs and even more intimate. All around a brilliant place to go with your date or friends.
