   Booked Via open table but the place was shut when we got there. Don't know if it's closed for good, or a problem with Open table, but probably won't bother to find out.

   Fantastic food and very accommodating. My husband had a fabulous meal for Father’s Day. Would highly recommend.

   Lovely place to eat and food is always brilliant , place was let down by a rude member of staff serving behind the bar middle aged blonde lady (not to be confused with the ginger blonde lady with short hair) was rude to myself on both visits to the bar 2 nd was to pay not even a thankyou for my custom

   We made a table reservation for wife's birthday. When we got there we couldn't find a table with our name plaque, it was a few minutes before we were approached and directed to the next free table. It was not reserved, was not very clean, no candle, no salt. It would be nice to come to a nicely prepped table especially that we booked it for special occasion. It was our first visit it would be beneficial to receive some sort of instruction from the staff who sat us down, as to if order by the bar or if we will be served, so we had to find out ourselves. The food was tasty and good, delivered promptly.The garden is fantastic. Staff kind and was working hard. The only problem was the garden is not fenced off and adjacent to the car park, so we had our hands full having to watch after out boy rather than relax in our seats...

   Excellent food and good value. Service was terrific and the early evening offer of three courses was well worth the £12.95 per head with good sized portions. The only thing which spoiled the evening was the proximity of smokers to the doors into the garden as the smell of cigarettes was too much at times.

   We had a really nice meal with family for my husbands 70th birthday. We had a lovely girl serving us. It was her first day and she was very good.

   We felt that the food was mediocre and rather over-priced - ( e.g. £7.25 for a prawn cocktail with just 4 prawns and a bit of lettuce). The portions were a tad mean also. I had the curry, which barely covered the bottom of the bowl it came in. The service was excellent, but we wouldn't go there again I'm afraid - not when there are so many other venues to choose from in and around the area. Disappointing to be honest.

   The Crown was recommended by family members that had recently had Sunday Lunch there so we thought we would give it a go. The recommendation was well deserved, the food was excellent, the staff were great they knew when to be prompt with drinks and taking menu choices and when to step back if more time was required between courses or in choosing. There was a lovely friendly ambience in the restaurant and in the garden area. Looking forward to going back to try the evening menu.

    I have been to The Crown many times over many years and it can be very hit and miss with the quality of it's food. This, I'm afraid was a miss. We were a party of six. Two of the starters - soup- were very poor: leek and potato soup that was watery and flavourless. I said as much to the waitress and she said she'd tell the chef. I later found out that we had been charged for them. If I had paid the bill, I would have queried it. As for the mains, the chips were tepid, fish in batter was watery, sea bream was very oily and the veg accompanying my pie were al dente to the point of being extremely undercooked. I had lost the will to raise every point with the waitresses, so complained no further. When The Crown is good, it's great: a lovely setting inside and out. I was disappointed and won't return for quite some time.
