The Crown is an independently run award-winning freehouse in the heart of Hastings Old Town, open at 11am every day. Our kitchen is open 12-4, 5 till 9.
We serve modern British food in a friendly informal environment using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. We create dishes from scratch, including homemade bread, fish from the surrounding seas and seasonal veg.
We serve local real ales & craft beers, wine and a specialist gin and whisky selection and delicious coffee.
'High Top Tables' refers to our high tables with bar stools.
You can book a table for drinks only.
Dogs are welcome, 'paws on the floors' please.
Children welcome, we have a kids menu.
For allergies & intolerances, please let your server know before ordering.
We serve our full menu on a Sunday, but it is not a traditional roast dinner.
Please call us if you are running later than your booked time.
Table bookings for 2 hours for up to 4ppl; 3 hours for 5+ people. Tables from 7pm onwards are for whole evening.

The Crown n Hasting at first glance is a really good looking pub, when it comes to the food it's simple amazing with twists on classics, like the coronation chicken caesar salad ia true taste sensation. We ordered 5 not so small tasty plates and we filled and satisfied. If you're in Hastings I can't recommend the crown enough great food great staff and a friendly vibe, enjoy.

Interesting combinations in the small plate dishes…great staff….tolerant when 2 of our party arrived late due to traffic…sensibly priced - would recommend

The Crown is a 'gastro' pub, but that is not a criticism. Located in a quiet, historic side street in Hastings Old Town, it was one of my favorite pubs many years ago, but has moved with times. The outside (picnic style) seating is great on a warm, sunny day and inside there is a choice of table sizes & styles. I was all set to enjoy a 'no frills' meal but was very pleasantly surprised by the choice and appeal of the menu. The bar has a good choice of local ales and the staff were attentive and pleasant. The food arrived in good time and was very good, in my and my wifes opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and will be returning to explore the menu more.

Really great food, always lots to choose from and everything we picked was very good. Very relaxed feeling, sat at a high table near the bar which we love but tables outside are super nice too. Just a great place and really good value for money, especially considering the quality of the food. Just a great pub.

Eating at The Crown is always such a treat. The food is delicious, the staff fabulous and the atmosphere is great. Perfect place for a casual lunch or celebration dinner.
