Booking accepted by Opentable for 6:30 on a Saturday evening, open hours on Google and sign on the door said pub should be open - but it wasn't! all closed up and no-one around.

Contacted the pub in advance due to intolerances and was reassured that I would be able to eat the pies offered. On arrival, I was told that the pies were not actually suitable for me so all I could be offered were sides or starters. The lady who served us was lovely. Unfortunately the pub was closing early due to being short staffed so we only had an hour/hour and half available to us before we had to leave.

One of our party was Veggie and Gluten Free, did phone ahead midway to confirm they was something appropriate on the menu, a\nd was told yes. But unfortualey the only option was Mash Potato, Baked Beans and Peas and Cauliflower? Pies/Food were ok but not as good as expected reading reviews. On the whole a bit dry. Staff were vefry friendly and accommodation

Excellent all round! Service was great, staff very helpful and friendly as were the villagers. An out-of-the-way gem! A great twist on the basic pie and mash. We can't wait to go back!

Good service, food quite good, but a little disappointing. Not vegetables and mash potatoes very dry and not seasoned enough. Good rang of traditional ails, well kept. The pub seemed very tired and the carpets certainly need a good clean. Overall the place was a little grubby. The manager was good and very helpful it's a sham that building and interior let's him down quite badly.

Wasn’t made aware of offers so ended up spending more than needed. Deserts very disappointing. Steak pie meat was tough

Me and my partner have been coming here alot now for last 2 years! We arrived last night for pie and mash for my partners birthday and have been alot over the Christmas period. As they are aware there Brie wedges are amazing as always! I throughly love coming to The Crown and the staff are so friendly and welcoming I couldn't ask for better. There food are amazing and brilliant value for money Its a cosy pub and I would well recommend... 😊 xx

Friendly service, tasty food and a fair price. Good choice of beers and other drinks. Having the log burner alight would have been good as it is a lovely feature.
