Located in the historic town of Kenilworth in the heart of Warwickshire, The Cross is an award-winning pub that combines Michelin-starred food with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

Under the guidance of chef-director Adam Bennett, we have held a Michelin star for over nine years and are proud to boast three AA Rosettes. We received a Good Food Award Gold Seal in 2021.

The Cross is housed in a Grade II listed 19th-century inn and has been sympathetically restored to retain its heritage alongside contemporary touches that make it a fabulous place to enjoy great food, a casual atmosphere and informal but attentive service.

Our main dining room is a former school room that leads to a cosy and welcoming bar - previously a butcher's shop.

Another dining room overlooks the pass, where guests can glimpse the team of chefs busily at work.

We have a green and spacious pub garden, perfect for aperitifs, cocktails and post-dinner drinks.

    The staff were delightful & friendly and very accommodating of us all. Unfortunately I think there was sone mix ups in getting the food out, perhaps sent to the wrong table - not really sure but 45 minutes between courses on a tasting menu not great. And over an hour & half wait between the started and main on the á la carte! We were one of the earliest tables to arrive and were the last table to be able to leave. Food was nice (although the steak tartare needed seasoning) and the bread was absolutely fantastic. First Michelin starred restaurant where we have been offered a children's meal! Really nice touch, however I think that may have ben one of the causes of such huge delays on the adult food being served, so perhaps counter productive. Thank you for making my mother's birthday special, the extra delays did mean we got to spend extra time with her. Although I think the extra length of time at the table was too long for a little one to enjoy and I hope that that did not upset any if the other diners in the restaurant.

    We enjoyed a superb meal at The Cross. Everything was perfect, from the cocktail on arrival to the cheese course. We chose the tasting menu and all the dishes were packed with flavour and delicious. They all lived up to their Michelin star rating. It has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and I'd recommend it for Foodies and anyone celebrating a special occasion. It may not be well known (yet) but it is well worth making the effort to seek it out.

    The food was perfection. Menus available for vegan and vegetarians too. Outside seating area lovely for a drink before the meal. Staff very attentive and nice. Excellent wine menu with a good mix of prices. Sat in the room with the big windows. Noise level was absolutely fine although not all seats were full. Worth knowing is that if you want to pick the seating by the kitchen the room is a bit of a thoroughfare and it’s where the toilets are. Only criticism is that for that kind of money you’d expect some extra attention for the loos - some nice hand wash and handcreme, maybe cotton towels. That was very basic. But the rest was fabulous!

    The meal was more filling than expected, the overall dining rhythm was good, each dish was flavorful, even very flavorful, the lamb dish was outstanding, and the salmon avocado tartlet was also impressive.
