There's plenty on offer throughout the week at The Cricketers Mill Green near Ingatestone in Essex.

Set within a beautiful rural environment but easily accessible.

Now serving lunch & dinner 5 days per week including an extended Sunday Lunch service.
Please Note While Booking With Us, Dogs are allowed in the bar area however that are not allowed in the Dining Area.

Food is served in our Bar/Dining Area from our A La Carte menu which is served Wednesday to Saturday 12-3pm then 6-9pm. (last bookings 2.30pm)
Snack menu which is served Wednesday to Saturday 3pm-5.30pm (last bookings 5.30pm)

We use locally sourced ingredients and all of our dishes are freshly prepared in our kitchen.

Great lunch. We had the ploughman’s. Was a bit disappointed with the bread. Too strong a flavour which detracted from the ham and cheese. Service as always was excellent. More cushions needed for the chairs outside.

2 x Sunday roasts - Beef was medium as described, tasty, good sized portion. Everything arrived on the plate. Swimming with gravy so a jug would have been preferable, with vegetables on the side to add as desired. Sadly the roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were clearly made too far in advance. Precooked then just warmed up hence overdone lifeless potatoes and dry over crisped Yorkshire puddings. Our booking was 1.15pm so not overly late in the day and using leftovers. Caesar salad - Salmon wasn’t a generous portion but freshly cooked. Lettuce was very finely chopped to a coleslaw consistency. Definitely a starter size rather than a Main. Without addition of meat or fish it would have been very disappointing. As it was I’d finished my lunch before fellow diners were halfway through their Sunday roast and still felt hungry as though I’d just had a starter. Service was excellent so we will try the Crickets again but not the Sunday Roast or Caesar Salad

We had a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday. The whole experience was spot on. It was fairly busy but a lovely, calm atmosphere. Food was perfect (roast beef) service was prompt, and the staff were charming! Would definitely recommend and return!

Waited half an hour for dessert and only received it as we asked how long it would be. Can’t fault the food though!

Very welcoming. Had a wonderful roast dinner in the restaurant. Staff very friendly and great service … The only negative is I felt a bit squashed in and a couple of times clashed chairs and elbows with the guy sitting directly behind me.

This is a lovely country pub in a beautiful location. We had dinner on a Saturday evening and were seated in an empty dining room with no atmosphere. We had to ask for menus and to order drinks. The food was overpriced pub food which, when it arrived, was extremely disappointing. The curry was bland and tasteless, the salmon just about ok, the plaice special was more bone than fish and pretty lacking in flavour, the risotto was what I can unfortunately only describe as odd tasting slop however my daughter said the burger was nice. Such a shame as this place has so much potential.

We had the most delicious food - in particular, the fish and chips were amazing! A menu of traditional pub food but done very, very well. The service is always great here so I would always recommend The Cricketers for a great meal.
