The Crest Gastropub - Clintonville
Came in from Cleveland to celebrate a birthday. Notified them upon reservation. They did not do anything for us for my sons birthday. Spent over 300.00 dollars.
Ordered the duck and gnocci special for $22. Gnocci was dense, and the shredded duck breast barely managed two partial forkfuls. Doubt if it was a tablespoon worth of solid duck. Warning- be careful for even the 7 percent beers, my 7 dollar one was only 8 ounces
Our server, Chris, made the meal special. Wonderful menu that even took care of everyone’s special requirements.
A local jewel.
We had wonderful service for a ladies’ night of wine and snacks and will keep coming back!
Great food. Loved the rooftop. Server was great and helpful. Will go there again.
Fun place to go for drinks & appetizers. Not the best bang for your buck, but you're paying for the cute atmosphere & attempts to serve the community as well as the customer. Service is consistently slow, so go when you have time to relax.
Loved the menu choices. The Vegan Bowl was outstanding.
Met friends here for a weekday dinner. The food was great and a very creative menu. The brisket was AMAZING.
Beautiful place.Unique menu. Got Fish n' Chips. Was huge order.
Liked the purple cabbage slaw and a ablity to sub sweet potato fries. Fish tasted even better, the next day.
The Crest Gastropub never disappoints. We had the BEST service and food. Thank you for making our experience more than just dinner.
Delicious, thoughtfully prepared meal. The Crest is becoming a go to for consistent preparation of creative, casual meals.
Our experience was awesome!! Chris, our server, was amazing and took great care of us. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and it was a great evening.
Wow!!! Loved it. We sat outside for lunch. It was quiet and was wonderful for a business meeting. THe food was simply delicious!! And our server was fantastic!! I would give Crest GastroPub 10 stars if I could!
We had such a nice evening on the rooftop. Great server, had two appetizers, eight entrees and two desserts. All were great!
The staff there is amazing. They gave us a nice spot on the patio for our anniversary. The server knew the menu quite well, and we thoroughly enjoyed the drinks and food that she had recommended. This restaurant is such a nice place for any occasion.
Met up with old and new friends and dined on the patio. It was so so hot outside and we thought about sitting inside but hey., it's summer and soon we will all have to be inside! The fans helped alot in keeping us cooled down.
Our food was all great and so were the drinks. The best part was our awesome young server. A guy by the name of Chris. He was just the best and give that man a raise. We are all old rockers and I think he had as good of a time as we did
Will be back next trip
The Crest has everything we love in an eatery. Locally sourced, thoughtful, creative and diverse menu. Our vegetarian daughter had lots of choices. Delicious meal, cool vibe. We appreciate the hard work that is required to maintain this level of quality. We will surely be back.
Great food and service! The french toast is amazing.
Fun, casual dining. Great menu! Great Service! The Pastrami Sandwich was incredible.
Neighborhood gem and favorite go-to restaurant for ourselves and when guests are in town!
We got the grilled cheese and it was completely cold and horrible
We chose to go to The Crest for restaurant week because I hadn't been awhile and their menu items were the most intriguing. We were not disappointed with our selection. The atmosphere was as great as I'd remembered it behind from a couple of years ago and right off the bat our server Mark was incredible. Took the time to go over the new cocktail menu and gave some background on how the drinks and illustrations came to be. The book was incredibly illustrated with a great story for each drink. I ended up going with the Gonzo on the Derby and it was easily the best mint julep I've ever had and I'm a pretty harsh critic when it comes to drinks having bartended for two years myself. Mark also took the time to go over some of the rare beers they currently had and his recommendation of Jackie O's New Growth was on point! All three courses of our meal were exceptional. The pork belly dish might have me going back once a month for it! Overall an amazing date night for my wife and I. It's very rare for a server to enhance the dining experience the way Mark did, Crest you've got a good one and you've got a repeat customer for sure!
The Kitean beef appetizer was a flavorful meal in itself! Interesting beer selection. Burger was juicy with a nicely grilled bun. My friends beer battered cod was light and fluffy. Great meal wonderful escape on a hot summer evening.
I had lived in cbus for 5 years before trying the crest. Partially avoided it because it seemed expensive and trendy. (We did have a gift card for this visit.) But now that I’ve been I’d go back. Excellent food and service. We got there at 5:30 and we were there for an hour or so. It got a bit noisy, having to talk very loudly to have a conversation- quite a change in noise level from when we arrived. But fairly typical for a popular bar on Friday night.
Good food. Great service
Thank you for being so accommodating when we took our engagement pictures on your rooftop! We love the crest and always have a great experience!
We went for brunch on Fathers' Day. The food was excellent and the environment is fun! We will definitely return.
Father’s Day lunch
Server was great, just seemed understaffed. Drinks came shortly before our food. Not the servers fault just understaffed for sure. Seems that way every time I go. Food is great I just would prefer faster greet and service. This is managment problem....
Great food from a decent menu selection of "brunch" items. The plates are large, so you definitely get the amount you pay for, and the service was great.
Kudos to The Crest for the seemingly effortless way they deal with our large party especially with the kiddos in tow and at the early hour. We had a great experience and I look forward to being back.
Love the patio here, and a good beer selection and happy hour
Many of the menu items were sold out by 5:30pm on a Tuesday. Only one vegetarian entre was available. We ate on the patio and even though there was only 3 other tables with guests our waitress forgot to bring items we requested twice. Service was friendly but poor.
Interesting choices on the menu. Very friendly to a wide variety of dietary desires. Everyone in our group of 6 enjoyed their choices; carnivore, vegan, and gluten intolerant. Nice décor and layout. Drawbacks: overall sound level was fairly high and limited parking. Would recommend to friends.
The food is delicious and unusual fare! The price is also unusual: expect to pay about $80 for two entrees, two drinks and one dessert. Wait service suffers because they are CLEARLY overworked and understaffed: two things I strongly disrespect in any business.
TL:DR-come at happy hour, but prepare to wait.
This was an absolute lovely experience. Food and service were exceptional. And, the setting outside was perfect, I loved walking through their garden!
4 in our group have food allergies or dietary preferences and the Crest kitchen team was able to accommodate us. The food came out hot & flavorful. Our server was pleasant and willing to ask the Chef when she wasn’t certain. Music could have been just a little lower as the restaurant was busy so already naturally a bit loud. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food & beverage served. Simply a nice place to enjoy food & drink with family & friends! Roger, Westerville
On Mothers day brunch - food not served hot, did not like the Shankleesh at all, Eggs Benedict was pretty good. Overall food ok but, fairly high priced for what you got. Probably won't be going back again.
Best cheese burgers in town!
Especially with the truffle fries.
But I do like the unique plates they offer too. Always good.
We had reservations and were seated properly and on time. The host was a very nice young man. Our server was friendly but very slow. Took ~6 minutes for her to greet us and then another 5 to get two drinks. The food was very good but the value was very high. I recommend coming her if you aren't in a rush and want craft cocktails and beer. It will be a special occasion spot for me thanks to the type of drinks, decor and food. They weren't busy when we arrived but when we left people where ready for the Crew Game. It is def a relaxed place. I would entertain coming again.
