The Crest Gastropub - Clintonville
I have had good meals twice in the past. This time the lamb burger was very strong flavor and very over-done. I had had it before and was looking forward to it. The fries were good. My friend was not thrilled with the fish sandwich and huge hunks of broccoli in it. The wine seemed over-priced.
The food is always fabulous here and did not disappoint this time! Our server was helpful and fun. Great night.
Usually have a really good experience here, but our service this time was awful. Had to wait nearly 15 minutes before someone came to the table and they only came cause we said something. Then our waitress was just kind of rude the whole night. Treated our table like an inconvenience.
our table was uneven and the server could not get it right. as the table tipped our drinks were splashed over, when i mentioned this to the server, they just shrugged no offer to make it right, or move us to another table with less frustration, overall food was good, but poor seating in a half filled restaurant was frustrating.
The staff at The Crest were so friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful restaurant and great food! Had the fish sandwich for the first time, and it was outstanding, beyond my already high expectations. I’ve enjoyed the macaroni and cheese many times before, and I did again. It’s very rich, perhaps a bit too rich. I’ll be back, both here in Clintonville and at Parsons and Livingston!
Food was great and the beer selection was outstanding.
Try the shrimp and grits. It’s a great, fresh take on a southern staple!
Good food! Rain was dripping a little through the metal roof in the outdoor patio area.
We had reservations (soooo necessary and awesome), ate with a group of four, and had a great time! Food was fast and delicious, and the service was good. Space was a little tight, and the noise level was a bit loud, but that is to be expected on a busy, rainy Saturday night. Love the vegan and veggie options, keep them coming!
Try the Falafel and Waffle! It was delicious. One thing we learned is that The Crest started taking reservations in the past year. Game-changer!
It's been a while since I've been here but based upon my most recent experience at brunch, I am not in a hurry to return. Our food was just okay and didn't come out warm. My poached egg was way overdone. We would have stayed and had more mimoas if we didn't have to hunt down our server every time we needed something. We easily sat for 20 minutes with dirty plates in front of us with nothing to drink - including water - before we grabbed a server from another table to see if she could send ours over... it was still more than 5 minutes until we saw her. The table beside us was also having issues and asked to speak to a manager. Seemed they had similar issues.
Really like the food here although there are many gluten-free options. We had a reservation and were put on the patio although the weather was cold, it wasn’t closed and had heaters but this really messed with the ambience. I will go back and request specific table next time.
I made a last minute reservation for my family of four, and noted in the online request that we needed a high chair. For once, our table was ready and waiting for us, complete with high chair. The food was excellent, and service was friendly and quick. I will definitely be back, and I appreciate a unique dining experience that I can actually enjoy with my kids.
Great experience! The Crest made it easy to schedule a reservation, and the table was ready when we got there.
I search for chill places to eat with good food whenever I am in Columbus...dinner tonight at Crest Gastropub was a winner! I happened upon happy hour (Tuesday-Friday 3-7) which was an added bonus. I tried the giardiniera & house red wine, which were good. I had a hard time choosing my entree, but I decided on the fish sandwich with sautéed vegetables, which were yummy!!! I definitely recommend Crest & plan to return the next time I’m in Columbus.
The shakshuka was delicious. Fun atmosphere. Perfect breakfast potatoes especially with the hot sauce.
Creative menu, nice ambiance, great wait staff and great cocktails! Definitely will go back.
Fun and different.
Food and service are always top notch. I always enjoy my time here before Crew games.
I ordered the Falafel and Waffles. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. My husband ordered the Lamb Burger and didn't care for it. It was his first time having a Lamb Burger and didn't care for the taste of the meat.
My order was wrong but we had somewhere to be so I didn’t say anything. Those chairs have always been a bit uncomfortable and in the colder months it’s just so chilly in there. Our server was nice.
We ordered three meals - Burger, Lamb Burger and Quinoa Salad. The burger was ok, but not in the same class as other $12 burgers in Columbus. The lamb burger was way over spiced and over cooked and the Quinoa Salad wasn't eatable. It had way too much oil and the ratio of greens to quinoa was way out of wack.
Cool vibe and very nice people but I won't be back. Too many other great places to go.
Family birthday brunch. Excellent service and delicious food. Nice to be able to make a reservation for brunch.
This is the perfect place to eat before a movie at studio 35, or just to go out with friends. High quality food and drinks in a cool atmosphere.
I’ve been to the Crest before and had better experiences. Two of my friends had to send their order back (burnt and not warm). The food was not as good as I remember either. Surprisingly it wasn’t busy but you’d think otherwise with the slow service we received. I hope this was a fluke and that I can still expect more if/when I ever go back.
The food wasn’t spectacular. My brother ordered a burger with bacon, and the bacon was $3 extra. This wasn’t thick or specialty bacon. It was almost burnt it was so thin. I can find better bacon at Kroger.
Aside from that I got the crispy pork belly. The grits were the best part (and I don’t normally like grits). The pork was bland, but it was crispy, and tough to cut with their knives. The salad was loaded with vinegar that every time I swallowed, I practically choked it was so vinegary.
Our server though was great! She was attentive, friendly, and just overall good!
Decent food. Pretty steep prices for what it is. I’ve definitely had cocktails at other restaurants that are better and you get more for your money.
We were not a fan of the cold patio . The idea was great but was not warm enough. They did not advise us ahead of time that is where
I haven't been in a while, but decided to go on a Saturday evening. We had a really nice meal out with friends. My falafel and waffle was excellent. My husband said his fish sandwich was fine, but nothing amazing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We will return!
What a wonderfully unique place to eat. The food was great, our waiter was awesome, and the restaurant itself was refreshing. A great non-chain neighborhood place to eat.
The Crest was fantastic! Loved all the brunch options and cocktails.
It’s amazing!!! Always a favorite! I love the food and the waiters/waitresses are so cool.
Went to The Crest for a quick date night with another couple before going to Rumba. Food and service were wonderful!
It was alright. Nothing to write home about. The food was all very rich, almost over-seasoned.
The kicker for me was the charcuterie board. It was $15 and then another $5 to add cheese. The meats were strange, very salty. This is fine, it was interesting to eat and 1/3 of the people eating it liked the meats. For the added $5 you got very little cheese, and the cheese that came was not great. They also gave you very little bread and way to much spread, so by the time we gave up on the board we had giant globs of the three spreads left and various pickled vegetables and had to eat most of the stuff without bread or cheese. I guess it may be personal preference.
Not the worst experience, just an expensive sub-par charcuterie board.
A group of 7 of us wound up going to dinner for a birthday celebration. We got a mixture of 3 apps and multiple different entrees. Everything was delicious and the service was perfect.
Great food and service. We ate on the heated patio and had the place all to ourselves. Very accommodating for our gluten-free guests. Get the Brussel sprouts app to share. Mmmm
Very nice atmosphere for a Sunday lunch with family. However, the heated patio was quite noisy.. we spent a significant amount of money, and kind of expected to have some privacy. However, our server was wonderful and we shall return..
Food is interesting and tasty. Some places try too hard being creative, but Crest gets it just right. I look forward to my next visit.
Wait staff was exceptionally knowledgeable about both drinks and food. I do wish there were more vodka based cocktail specials on the menu. They did offer to make me anything i wanted though.
