Have dined here several times while in the area. Love the ambience. Always try to sit upstairs on outer portion of deck so you can see the water and also listen to the band if they are playing that evening.
Food was fantastic. Would recommend redfish and Steak & Blackened Lobster for entrees. Cajun calimari also a great appetizer. Sat outside with a beautiful view of the bay.
Was average dining experience, was one of the few restaurants that offered reservations so beggars couldn’t be choosers. Could use a deep cleaning.
Our server Chase was amazing! Great night! Loved the accommodations!
Just okay. Many more people out to dinner these days so places are crowded. The food was just okay and servers seemed disorganized although our food arrived quickly. The restaurant seems tired and could use a facelift.
Great experience. Just a little overpriced for the quality.
Do NOT go here! The manager is the worst representation of customer service. We had a reservation and when we arrived the very nice hostess seated us upstairs. The server was obviously new, which is fine. You could tell she had no training and was terrified. We ordered a beer and a bottle of wine. The beer was warm and when we asked for a cold glass for the bottle of beer, the server said they don’t have beer glasses (really???). Then we felt the bottle of wine and it was warm, this was white wine. I asked the bartender if they had a cold bottle and the answer was “nope”. We asked to chat with the manager, a young lady came to talk with us who was very nice. She apologized and went to see if they had a table downstairs where the servers are more experienced. Then the actual manager showed up. Sloppily dressed and sat down on chair and said “I hear you have a problem” we started to tell her about the wine and she said “ya I already heard about that, what’s next”. She said they are short staffed and she is lucky to even have the place open. We asked if we could be seated downstairs and she told us it’s the same inexperienced kids. That’s when we decided to leave. She didn’t even offer to pay for the warm beer (we never opened the wine). We dropped a $5 and walked out. I’m in the service industry and I’m very sympathetic to the staffing crisis.
Ms Manager - if you are reading this let me tell you how you should have handled this. “I heard you all have had some difficulties. I sincerely apologize and I will personally make sure you have a great meal if you will give us a chance to improve. Let’s seat you downstairs with a more experienced server and I will get that bottle of wine in the freezer and back to you in 10 minutes. Let me get you a fresh ice cold beer. For your inconvenience let me pay for that bottle of wine. I really appreciate your patience and trust in me to make this right”. That’s called problem resolution. Your welcome for the lesson at no charge.
Lobster was delicious, so was the “Taste of New Orleans” platter
Pain getting into the parking structure wonky to find out it was full. Decent food, when you walk in you walk by two big tanks (I assume they’re for lobsters; they were empty and dirty).
Was good food With good service. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food with a nice atmosphere. We sat outside and listened to live music as we had dinner.
Parking makes it challenging to get to this place, but do not let that steer you away. It’s in Baytown wharf with a great ambiance of a carousel, rock climbing, pizza places and delicious gelato. Service was great and it’s right on the water. Music to listen to while you eat. The bordeaux is loaded with fried food to feed a village and the taste of New Orleans was the perfect amount. Great place to grab a reservation with no wait times.
Food was really dry and had to listen to a noisy blender.
Not that great a place.
Shrimp and Grits served by personable waiter did not disappoint!
Everyone and everything was great!
Baytowne is the epitome of tourist trap. Lots of lights and dazzle, but overall, the food and service is much less than the dollars charged. The people are nice and we were seat promptly, but then it took forever, orders weren’t correct, spent 2hrs 10min on a 60 minute effort, and dropped over $230 on 4 people. I am hoping this is the COVID effect of people returning before the motivation of staff, but not interested in testing it out when we return next year. It can be $80 total and take forever like tonight, or the current price and get crap together moving forward.
Loved the jambalaya, firecracker shrimp, calamari, and coconut shrimp. And try the voodoo drink!
Service was horrible. All around the worst service we have ever had. I will not recommend this restaurant or resort.
After reading other reviews I was worried about planning a dinner here. With that said, we had an amazing experience. The food was quick and delicious, our waitress was amazing and the location was so fun! There was also live music (not too loud) which was a win for us. We will absolutely come back.
Music and view from patio were great. But the food and service was terrible. We had to send back part of the order and they forgot my daughters kids meal.
We ordered the Lobster seafood tower $125 no problem. Problem was it was scant of seafood. One lobster tail cut in half and very tough. Maybe a dozen oysters scattered clams and the tiniest shrimp surrounding a ramiken of cocktail sauce. Save your money! We gave serious thought to return it because the display and amount of seafood was so bad. Our meals were excellent. Entree items were very good. Don’t waste your time on the towers!
We were seated outside and our bar stool chairs were broken and in poor shape. Average food. Longer than average wait. The waiter was good.
Server was great! Made a reservation and still had to wait but apparently all restaurants in the area are short staffed. The food was good. No complaints there.
Highly recommend! Our waiter, Cody, was super friendly and did a great job. Food was delicious with a nice variety and very reasonably priced. The live music was also great. Definitely one of our favorite places we’ve eaten this week. Whole family wants to return our next trip to Destin!
Great atmosphere and the service was good. Food was a let down. Food was both over and under cooked. Nowhere near authentic Cajun or fresh seafood.
Food was delicious! Service wasn’t great. We had to ask for drinks several times before they arrived. One person in our party never even got the drink she ordered. When it came time for the bill, it was all wrong-tried to charge us for 3 things we never ordered. They fixed it. Maybe we caught them on a bad night?
Part of our seafood was cold. Like cold, cold. Like refrigerator cold. I know lobster and crab often gets steamed in advanced, but shouldn’t come out cold. Reservation was at 7. Arrived 10 minutes early but wasn’t seated until 7:25. Was served crab legs without butter or shell crackers and took about 10 minutes for butter and shell crackers to arrive at the table. Redfish was great. Lobster pasta was tasty except the cold lobster. Mahi-mahi was gobbled up fast.
Beautiful views and excellent service. Seafood boil and fried catfish were bland. We had to send back for seasoning. On the plus side, portions were large. The best meal at the table was the steak and blackened lobster entree.
Our waitress was awesome. Food was good and place was packed. Its definitely a tourist restaurant with a ton of different cocktails. Make reservations
We sat outside and the live music was a little loud, other than that . Great food and service!
Food was great, our server was also great, but food took 1.5 hrs to make it our way from the moment we ordered.
They forgot about us and never served us. We walked out.
Raw oysters were terrible. Overall the food was a disappointment.
The lobster was way over cooked, and the shrimp and grits sauce was so overpowered with worshire sauce it was inedible. Oysters were gritty and I nearly chipped a tooth on one of the baked oysters that had a shell in it.
Management refused to take off order when lobster was slimy and proper utensils, crackers, were unavailable.
The food was terrible -what else matters? Nothing could have possibly been cooked on site. Seafood was frozen and had almost no taste. Raw oysters were good. The noise level was so loud you could not have a conversation. The band was playing AND the radio was blaring -so loud that you couldn't hear the band at all. The scenery was beautiful & staff did the best they could & were friendly.
Amazing crab legs!
Great service! Food was wonderful! Nice drink selection. They were out of a couple things but didn’t ruin the experience. Would totally go back again:)
Great atmosphere. The food was good and the staff was very friendly.
Our dinner at crazy lobster was very good. It did take a while to get our food but we had all ordered steaks. There is a beautiful view of the sunset off the pier from the outside seating. It does however share a deck with hammerheads bar and grill so the later it gets the noise level gets very loud. It was nice that we can make a reservation.
We walked out. I understand that maybe they were understaffed due to the present conditions but we weren’t about to pay for it. They didn’t even have enough menus for all 4 of us. Only 1 hostess to seat people.
