The Crazy Lobster Destin
Reservations made through Open Table will only be held for up to 15 minutes
2 Lb Lobster
Two Crab Cakes, topped with Remoulade Sauce served on a bed of Shredded Cabbage
Overpriced, mediocre food at best. The fact that there were plenty of reservation openings should have been a clue.
The lobster was so shrivel up it looked like an intestine. The corn was so saturated from the boil and disgusting
Great service and great food!
The staff was very nice but the bathroom was super gross. The bartender was running around acting a little out of sorts. They were missing an ingredient for one of the specialty drinks on the menu. Our appetizer came out before our drinks. We cut the experience short Before ordering entrees.
The atmosphere and location are great. The waitress was nice and attentive although she was not informed of what they did or did not have when we put in our order and had to come back to tell us it was unavailable. I ordered BBQ shrimp and grits which are a favorite of mine. The sauce was so sour I couldn’t eat it. I was informed it was made authentic to Louisiana and that’s how it was supposed to taste. However I have had authentic shrimp and grits and they tasted nothing like this. I ended up sending it back because I was not going to wait and order something else as that time my husband was already finished eating his meal. His food was good but mine was just awful.
Pickle our server was great and I enjoyed making an appointment online. We had no wait! Food was worth every dollar, we will be back soon!!!
Waited an hour and a half for our food even though there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. Our server was great, just a kitchen issue. The manager was apologetic and comped our entrees.
This place is in the heart of the village of Baytown Wharf . TOTALLY surprised when we were given a parking access pass upon arriving at a gate house. (Thank heaven for GPS)
The out door seating is THE WAY TO GO at this restaurant. The service was ehh, but good. There was live music playing, a young woman offering a complimentary photograph, and the general public walking around... it was border line B.C. (Before Covid) and it was INCREDIBLE!!!
Everyone working at this restaurant was masked.
(I don’t believe in the mask narrative, but I do recognize the effort this establishment put forth.)
The walk to the restaurant is worth the dining experience alone.
The food was a little salty- but I guess that’s creole for you.
I had the Mahi with crab meat & shrimp, over a bed of heirloom potatoes and an arugula salad - It was an easy sale!
The food wasn’t very good The crab legs were bland and dry and cost too much for the amount you get. The kids chicken tenders were very small bland and dry also
Yummy food! And great servers.
Loved that it was outside seating with a nice view.
Beautiful location on the water. Would not recommend the menu.
Food was ok. Not as good as was stated by others on yelp. Very disappointed. They were out of a bunch of items & their frozen drink machine was broken.
Long wait to make an order. Had to ask for straws and that took even more time. Straws came unwrapped between waitress fingers. Had 5 people eating seafood with lobster and could only get two bibs, crackers, and plastic lobster forks. Expensive for mediocre flavored seafood. BUT the sausage was thr bomb!
Great service from our server.
I found this restaurant on Open Table and thought we'd give it a try. We had a party of 8. It was very difficult trying to locate this restaurant, mainly because its placed in a Private Community. The gate guards had us going in circles. It was very frustrating. The Crazy Lobster advertised Fresh Seafood, but that was NOT the case. It was Horrible. This food was definitely previously FROZEN. Everything fried, was to bready.....the crab claws where old and so skinny that they where impossible to crack open. We spent near 400$ that night. Never again. BUT there was a place that was exactly next door named HAMMERHEAD. They had Live music which was nice and we should of sat over there.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The only good thing was the music. If we hadn’t been outside listening to a guitarist sing, the night would have been a complete disaster. The food was less than average & we waited for it for an hour - and got absolutely no acknowledgment of this by the waitstaff, which was crazy ...
I hadn’t been to Baytowne Wharf in a few years . My sister in law was here so we went to. Baytowne to shop and then we ate an early dinner at Poppy’s The Crazy Lobster”
We had the best dinner! She had lobster tails and I had the shrimp creole. I also had a Caesar salad and it was fresh and delicious. Our waiter came right over and the service was excellent . It was also great to hear music and see an unbelievable sunset over the water ! I highly recommend
The Crazy Lobster!
Stay away - this is a pathetic excuse of a dinning establishment! Everything was horrible. I had to get up and go to the bar twice for drinks - not once But twice. Stay away! Service is horrible food is average at best!
The food was spectacular and Chef Michael from New Orleans came out to say hello. Everything was great.
Very good Baytowne Wharf restaurant. The BBQ Shrimp and Grits was excellent and the Peel and Eat was tasty. Entree portion sizes are good. The setting is pretty with patio dining to boot.
Tried twice to call ahead for group change, straight to cm. Directions on Google maps and their website were not helpful. Getting to the place was a nightmare, no instructions that said to Park in public garage. When we asked about checking vm messages, staff argued that the phone never rang and wasn't their fault. No one else in the building but us, and they couldn't care less about hustling to serve us. Outside music was so loud, we could hardly talk. Waitress couldn't answer questions about food items, waiter said he didn't eat grits because he's from Michigan, etc. Food was okay, and then staff realized internet was down, and phone and credit card machine was out. Then they got a little nicer. Overall, okay but we won't make the effort next time.
Food was awesome!
Food was poor. Waitress didn't know what liquors were in stock.
Band was horrible; loud; and off tune.
Service was great! Food was delicious! Drinks were fantastic!
The location right on the water is a great spot to have dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Using a coupon this was a decent value however I would’ve been pretty upset if I would have paid these prices straight up. The wait staff, Although being extremely friendly, were extremely understaffed running vigorously back-and-forth trying to keep care of tables. I would expect this at a normal Restaurant, however with this being Advertised and priced as a higher end establishment I expected much better food quality and service. If you have a discount it’s an OK place to go but I would not recommend it for your “one night out”
Hard to get to, parking in a small deck, Average food, slow service, nasty bathroom, large bill-NOT a do over. Find seafood elsewhere.
Service was very poor, and wasn’t even that crowded. One of our ladies ordered red wine, and it smelled rancid. When we told our waitress, she was very rude, and kept saying, “Well, what don’t you like about it?” She didn’t seem to understand that it was BAD. Food sub par, and the only reason I gave it a 3 was because it was a great atmosphere, with live music.
Our service was excellent. Food was pricey but worth the money. Live music & views of bay were breathtaking. By far the best meal we had on our vaca. Must try the Cat 5 Hurricane drink!
Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever eaten.
We visit here every time we go to Destin , we love it . This time service was fantastic!!!
Good food, good service. We tried the bounty of the sea, and enjoyed it. Great sunset overlooking the marina, with live music below. Make sure you tell them your reservation was with OpenTable. And then tell them again. They marked us as a no-show, even tough we spent $150 on dinner.
Food is amazing! The panned chicken is best I have ever had!! Service was not so great but food made up for it. Our waiter was super sweet though.
Not a place that we would return. Expensive for the quality of food - example, our steamed shrimp were not deveined properly and lots were not edible. The rest of the food was hit or miss. For the $$ we spent, we could’ve gone someone else and had amazing food.
We had a group of 22 from age 8 to 60. Everyone was happy with the Crazy Lobster.
Lobster was over cooked to the point of almost inedible... service was good and we didn’t complain because she was too busy.
Prices were a little high, but the food was outstanding!
Exceptional lobster and crab
Took my wife, our 14 year old and one of her friends. Our table was ready when we arrived and we had the most amazing view.. . Right into the bay and marina. Sunset. Beautiful. Service was outstanding, ordering process was smooth, and food arrived quickly. Well-oiled machine. You know this isn't 5 star dining, but that's not what you come here for. However, you will not be disappointed if you want a fun, beachy feel, with good fresh food. Had a dozen oysters, and they were great. Recommend!!
