The Crazy Lobster Destin
Reservations made through Open Table will only be held for up to 15 minutes
I found this restaurant on Open Table and thought we'd give it a try. We had a party of 8. It was very difficult trying to locate this restaurant, mainly because its placed in a Private Community. The gate guards had us going in circles. It was very frustrating. The Crazy Lobster advertised Fresh Seafood, but that was NOT the case. It was Horrible. This food was definitely previously FROZEN. Everything fried, was to bready.....the crab claws where old and so skinny that they where impossible to crack open. We spent near 400$ that night. Never again. BUT there was a place that was exactly next door named HAMMERHEAD. They had Live music which was nice and we should of sat over there.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The only good thing was the music. If we hadn’t been outside listening to a guitarist sing, the night would have been a complete disaster. The food was less than average & we waited for it for an hour - and got absolutely no acknowledgment of this by the waitstaff, which was crazy ...
I hadn’t been to Baytowne Wharf in a few years . My sister in law was here so we went to. Baytowne to shop and then we ate an early dinner at Poppy’s The Crazy Lobster”
We had the best dinner! She had lobster tails and I had the shrimp creole. I also had a Caesar salad and it was fresh and delicious. Our waiter came right over and the service was excellent . It was also great to hear music and see an unbelievable sunset over the water ! I highly recommend
The Crazy Lobster!
Stay away - this is a pathetic excuse of a dinning establishment! Everything was horrible. I had to get up and go to the bar twice for drinks - not once But twice. Stay away! Service is horrible food is average at best!
The food was spectacular and Chef Michael from New Orleans came out to say hello. Everything was great.
Very good Baytowne Wharf restaurant. The BBQ Shrimp and Grits was excellent and the Peel and Eat was tasty. Entree portion sizes are good. The setting is pretty with patio dining to boot.
Tried twice to call ahead for group change, straight to cm. Directions on Google maps and their website were not helpful. Getting to the place was a nightmare, no instructions that said to Park in public garage. When we asked about checking vm messages, staff argued that the phone never rang and wasn't their fault. No one else in the building but us, and they couldn't care less about hustling to serve us. Outside music was so loud, we could hardly talk. Waitress couldn't answer questions about food items, waiter said he didn't eat grits because he's from Michigan, etc. Food was okay, and then staff realized internet was down, and phone and credit card machine was out. Then they got a little nicer. Overall, okay but we won't make the effort next time.
Food was awesome!
Food was poor. Waitress didn't know what liquors were in stock.
Band was horrible; loud; and off tune.
Service was great! Food was delicious! Drinks were fantastic!
The location right on the water is a great spot to have dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Using a coupon this was a decent value however I would’ve been pretty upset if I would have paid these prices straight up. The wait staff, Although being extremely friendly, were extremely understaffed running vigorously back-and-forth trying to keep care of tables. I would expect this at a normal Restaurant, however with this being Advertised and priced as a higher end establishment I expected much better food quality and service. If you have a discount it’s an OK place to go but I would not recommend it for your “one night out”
Hard to get to, parking in a small deck, Average food, slow service, nasty bathroom, large bill-NOT a do over. Find seafood elsewhere.
Service was very poor, and wasn’t even that crowded. One of our ladies ordered red wine, and it smelled rancid. When we told our waitress, she was very rude, and kept saying, “Well, what don’t you like about it?” She didn’t seem to understand that it was BAD. Food sub par, and the only reason I gave it a 3 was because it was a great atmosphere, with live music.
Our service was excellent. Food was pricey but worth the money. Live music & views of bay were breathtaking. By far the best meal we had on our vaca. Must try the Cat 5 Hurricane drink!
Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever eaten.
We visit here every time we go to Destin , we love it . This time service was fantastic!!!
Good food, good service. We tried the bounty of the sea, and enjoyed it. Great sunset overlooking the marina, with live music below. Make sure you tell them your reservation was with OpenTable. And then tell them again. They marked us as a no-show, even tough we spent $150 on dinner.
Food is amazing! The panned chicken is best I have ever had!! Service was not so great but food made up for it. Our waiter was super sweet though.
Not a place that we would return. Expensive for the quality of food - example, our steamed shrimp were not deveined properly and lots were not edible. The rest of the food was hit or miss. For the $$ we spent, we could’ve gone someone else and had amazing food.
We had a group of 22 from age 8 to 60. Everyone was happy with the Crazy Lobster.
Lobster was over cooked to the point of almost inedible... service was good and we didn’t complain because she was too busy.
Prices were a little high, but the food was outstanding!
Exceptional lobster and crab
Took my wife, our 14 year old and one of her friends. Our table was ready when we arrived and we had the most amazing view.. . Right into the bay and marina. Sunset. Beautiful. Service was outstanding, ordering process was smooth, and food arrived quickly. Well-oiled machine. You know this isn't 5 star dining, but that's not what you come here for. However, you will not be disappointed if you want a fun, beachy feel, with good fresh food. Had a dozen oysters, and they were great. Recommend!!
Vacationing in Destin and saw this restaurant on Open Table, so thought seafood here should be great, right? Wrong!
Prices were high and food quality was low. May be the worse crab cakes we’ve ever had. The mahi-mahi was average at best. We ordered Key Lime pie which you’d expect to be great in this area, but again was disappointed.
Our reservations were given to another party. The food was okay but it was very expensive. The inside of the restaurant was very hot. Our whole party had to sit at separate tables.
When you walk in to a restaurant in one of the busiest weeks of the year and the restaurant is half empty you should know better. Waiter got multiple items on our order completely wrong. He was like a deer in the headlights. The food was fair. They charged us for items we didn’t order and double charged us for our appetizer. The whole experience was double thumbs down. The only positive about the place is the outdoor seating views are nice.
Terrible place to eat. Over priced. Can't cook a steak. Can't cook dessert.
Great service and food was very good. Highly recommend!
The waitress came to the table to get our drink order and food order and we didn’t see her again until she brought the ticket. People from the kitchen brought the food out and my daughter spilled her water (she’s 2 1/2 years old) and I had to go over to the bar area to get us refills. The menu said they had a 14oz ribeye for $45 so I thought why not we are on vacation. It came out and tasted like a $5 steak from wal mart. Terrible experience.
We ordered the Seafood Bucket - we didn’t have extremely high expectations but was all over cooked - still enjoyed our time and dinner. The atmosphere and music were fun.
Our waiter was either new or did not love his job. Did not write our orders down, had them confused. When we asked for refills on drinks, he brought waters and lemonade, actually said “I couldn’t remember what you ordered, so I brought water and lemonade.”😂. 7 people were divided into 2 checks, he argued which person should go on which check, instead of listening. I get some waiters don’t need to write down orders, but George is not one of these waiters. A bad waiter can be overcome with great food. This is mediocre food at best. I won’t be back.
The food was ok. Not nearly as good as the Crab Trap. We got there and they didn’t have a table and that confused them, told me I should have made a reservation on Open Table. I had to show them the reservation email from Open Table. They finally seated us and we got started with apps. The tower was pretty good to share before dinner. The rest of the meal was just ok. The Bounty dinner was pretty small for a $100. We added an extra pound of crab they told us it would feed three. My two boys and wife split this and we ended up eating again about 2 hours later. I got stuffed lobster. It was a very small portion and the stuffy was runny. I would not recommend this as a place to eat. Bill was $500 and I was disappointed in the quality and quantity of food. The one bright spot was the service. Our waiter was very good.
Good. Made reservations. Food just ok. Drinks amazing. View fabulous
It was a great experience! We had live music and I was able to dance with my Sweetheart:) The food was good and there was plenty of it!
Staff was great! Food was wonderful! Loved the live music outside. Just a little pricey for very casual dining.
Took over 20 min for wait staff to first come to our table after seated, and that was only after I had a word with the hostess. Other parties seated after us were waited upon and served long before us. Food was good, but I would say overpriced.
“Pickle” was super attentive to a party of nine. We all appreciated his patience, enthusiasm, attention, and sense of humor. His presence truly made the evening unforgettable. Thank you Pickle. If I’m saying his name incorrectly, I’m referring to the gentleman from Yorkshire.
