Beautiful food and great atmosphere, will definitely be back
As always we had a wonderful meal we enjoyed every bite and will be back ASAP
Lovely food but service could improve waiting ages before being asked for a drink then was while waiting on food. And everyone seemed to walk past us at our table got fed up waiting for service for dessert we left. Have to say food in here is nice but service is seriously slow.
Lovely food, great service. Really nice staff
Had lunch with a friend and our 3 kids. Ordered the Steak deal which was amazing and cooked to perfection. Kids loved their meals too.
Service was great, staff really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
The starters were good, but the rest of the experience qasn't. Service wasn't great. The service wore a face mask with his nose sticking out. There really is no point in wearing the mask. Ordered a cocktail that was supposed to have mint and lime but what came out was just gin and soda. My bread was burnt for both the starter and the main. My main was the Penne dish which was bland and full of onions (which weren't mentioned in the description). I wouldn't return.
Very busy due to eat out to help out , staff very busy and service good. Food was lovely would go back.
We went to "eat out to help out" and both myself and dad had the blade of beef. It was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back and would recommend this place to everyone.
Service was excellent and food was top notch
Nice food, great service, lovely surroundings. Would recommend.
Disappointed with my meal at this venue. Having been seated at our table, the server took our orders & they arrived promptly. The mussels & wings were average in taste & quality. We hadn’t even finished our starters when a waiter plonked our mains down in front of us. The pasta dish & the chicken curry were both bland & I wouldn’t rate them at all. I ended up feeling a little queasy after this meal. Very disappointed.
Arrived at 6.55 for our 7.00 booking for 4. Stood in the hallway waiting behind other customers until 7.20 before we were shown to our table. Not a good start.
We were handed menus but our table wasn’t set and nobody brought us cutlery. Very quickly a young waiter came and took our drinks order, which also came out promptly.
Another 25 minutes passed and nobody took our food order even though there seemed to be a lot of waiting staff running around. I called one of them over and asked him to take our food order and he replied that we weren’t his table and he would send the waiter over.
Another 10 minutes passed before he returned to tell us that the waiter only had 3 more tables to take orders from before she would get to us. It’s almost 8.00 now.
We sat on chatting for a while before an older lady (I presume was the manager) happened to glance over to where we were sitting, my hand up trying to get someone’s attention.
I explained we had been here more than an hour and hadn’t even ordered food yet. She apologised profoundly for the wait, and tbh it was her sympathetic approach that prevented us from leaving at that point.
She took our order, brought us the cutlery and we waited. 10 minutes later the starters arrived. By this stage I was amazed that only one of them was wrong. But again she apologised and brought out the final correct starter.
Main course arrived within a reasonable time after we finished our starters but again, the food wasn’t correct. Medium steaks were well done and vice versa. By this stage, we just ate the food because starvation mode had set in.
Overall, the food itself was just ok. Not great. But the service was unacceptable. Doubt we’ll be back.
Went to this restaurant last Wednesday and booked well In advance as I new they would be best but when we came we got put into the pub bit and the had give our table to walk ins! Also food was poor got lasagna and it was like something you would cook in the microwave! Wouldn’t recommend
Nice food and good atmosphere with the Eat out to Help our offer on. Service friendly and efficient. Will be back !
Friendly staff, quick service & great food as always 😀
Wasn't overly impressed with our meals. Food was quite cold and chicken didn't look right. Apple crumble was so hard I struggled to chew the topping. Sorry but not for me
Friendly and helpful staff. Good choice of menu for lunch time. Steak very tasty, haddock is delicious, cheesecake was delicious, chocolate fudge cake lovely, however the apple crumble had too cinnamon in it for me and the crumble was too hard for me (sorry). If you want your custard warm ask for it to be heated, ours was served cold, but they did heat it for my daughter. As I said, great service, nothing too much trouble. Excellent overall.
Staff where very nice and service was great. Staff were wearing masks and good cleaning routine. Felt very safe. Would eat here again.
Delicious food, excellent service even though it was very busy
Lovely meal with the family.
Lovely bar and restaurant, great food and great staff. Highly recommend!
Had a lovely meal with my family with the eat out option. Meal was lovely and service was great also. Would definitely recommend
Great restaurant. Was very busy and staff were run off their feet. Slow with drink orders etc. But not individual staffs fault, possibly need more staff if that is possible in this climate.
Food was lovely however it was let down my our table service. We waited 45 minutes before anyone came near us and we had to ask to be served. This happened again when we were ordering deserts. The lady said she would be back to take our order yet 20 mins later she still had not arrived, much to the disappointment for my 5 year old who was waiting patiently for her desert as it was a reward for her. We again had to ask to be served. It was not over busy as there were lots of empty tables so this was disappointing.
Been coming here for years and never a problem. This time service was very poor. Our waitress banged the plates on the table. Not in the least very friendly. Didnt check if we needed anything else. She must of gone on her break as waiting for ages to be asked if we wanted dessert. When it came sat for ages and had to ask for cutlery. Childrens ice cream sundaes had melted by thr time they came.
Food delicious as always! Restaurant well spaced out and visible cleaning and sanitising going on between customers
Staff all friendly and chatty
Lovely family friendly restaurant
Fantastic will definitely be back. Staff great. Food great.
The food was lovely and the service was good. It was our first meal our since lockdown and did not disappoint
Good pub grub, tables were well spaced out, excellent pints and a lovely outdoor seating area.
We have been to The Crafty Hound a number of times and never had a bad experience. This is our first visit post lockdown and it was everything we’d remembered from our previous experiences. The service never fails us. It was my mother’s birthday and the waiting staff made the experience just perfect. Nothing over the top just excellent service with smiles and personality. The food quality is always amazing and this visit was no exception. We will definitely be back and will always recommend this place. We love it, so happy you’re back!
Great to be back out and having a great meal at our cosy local.. Staff are punctual, polite and food fantastic. Would highly recommend the Crafty Hound to anyone and will definitely be back..
Food was outstanding and service was incredible. Great location and easy to meet up with friends
Great service, nice and casual for family meals, lovely food. Kids menu is great, not just the usual frozen stuff. Clean plates all round from my family. Looking forward to next time already!
Really nice food and cocktails staff so friendly and helpful would def be back
I order the special when it arrived it was cold so was he side, taken away and heated and given back to me with no explanation, no member of staff approached to see if all was ok with the main course. He party also order desserts, mine arrived with butterscotch sauce that was like water, and again not member of staff approached to see if all was ok, this is very poor for this establishment!!
Food was terrible burger was rock hard tasted like it was reheated same with chips. Also no straws available in a restaurant. Used to be gorgeous for food but has definitely went down hill.
