We are a fantastic family friendly Bristol pub situated on Gloucester Road at Horfield, and are offering great food including the infamous Giant Yorkshire Sunday Roast!

WE ARE NOW FULLY OPEN and are delighted to welcome you back to our new Covid safe environment.

We are a pub where the whole family is welcomed!

Serving delicious and exciting food and a wide range of drinks; 2 craft beers, 3 real ales, a lovely selection of wines, spirits, bottled drinks, draft lagers and ciders.

Well it started bad from the beginning. We arrived at the counter and was told we haven't got a booking and go and see the manager "over there". The manager looked into his computer and agreed with the bar person that we have no booking luckily I had my phone with me and showed him my booking conformation email and immediately said " how did you book with them we don't use them. I said it was where your site sent me to make the booking. He then relooked on his screen and said he had found us a space and to follow him. I have just had a knee replacement and walking on crutches so although there was plenty of tables on the level service were we where in the main restaurant we were given a table at the bottom of the stairs right by the back door and also the kitchen door so the foot traffic/noise was horrendous. To help out the servers they wedged open the exit door to the garden to make it easier for the staff to serve with no thought to us getting our napkins blown everywhere. I shut the door once to have it wedged open again. The food was good with no complaints in fact it was the best part of the experience. After finishing our main meal it took a very long time to get someone's attention to clear our table even though by this point the restaurant was busy and staff were literally running to tables (but not ours). To put icing on the cake, when asking for the desert menu we was told they haven't got one but the waiter would go and get the pad to see what's available, this took forever and when she finally got to us she only had about4 things to offer us and she didn't let us see any pictures from the tab as that's what I thought she got it for. Summing up, made to feel guilty for booking online with someone he had never dealt with, and put us in the worst seats in the house because of this even though I was on crutches and never once apologised

Booked a table for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Staff was great. Very helpful. Lovely quiet atmosphere. Loads of empty tables so we could pick up the best for us.

Went for a roast and they weren’t doing it. Very few people in and rear of the menu wasn’t very appealing.

Really enjoyed our food but we went there for a sunday roast which they weren't serving, but enjoyed what we had anyway

Excellent service with lovely staff just missed a roast lunch on a Sunday. Ambience and comfort good😀

Booked expecting Sunday Lunch which has been great in the past. Presented with a limited burger menu and were told 2 different stories by waiting staff about limited menu. Burgers were indifferent served on broken plastic baskets. Fries arrived cold with a cold chipped plate underneath. The place was empty - not surprising. Won't be going back.

The food is amazing, never disappoints! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, dog and family friendly and a great beer garden.
