Great place, local, indie restaurant with locally sourced ingredients, but way way too noisy!
The food was good, fresh, the service was good, wasn't too crowded or noisy, great place for a Thursday gals night out would definitely recommend.
We enjoyed the wine tasting/pairing menu. excellent service.
Had a very nice brunch. Food and service was very good with the restaurant has a very nice ambiance.
I always get good food here. I'd say the friendliness of the staff has been hit or miss, but everybody was very pleasant on our last visit and our server was extremely nice and attentive. I had the house burger and it's reliably tasty, although so far medium has never been pink inside.
It's really ridiculously loud.
Came here for a mini family reunion with my cousins. Great beer and great food. A little noisy, but not too much. Would definitely go again.
Had a business dinner, the atmosphere, the service, the food and the drinks were really good, the price was a good value. The food came out of the kitchen a little too slow for me. All in all very good.
This is a great place to go for a business dinner. The food is very good and you can also have a conversation and hear the person. Not always the case in many restaurants.
Would benefit from a slightly more flexible menu for pancakes and omelettes not everyone likes apple or cheese. Too much potato too, toast would be a good alternative
Excellent service, always great bloodys and omelets. My boyfriend and I went the past two weekends for brunch. Excellent both times.
Great food with a unique and diverse brunch menu. Attention to detail, such as the craft cocktails, spectacular breakfast potatoes, high quality service and unique table settings make this place a step above the rest. My new favorite brunch restaurant - especially when I can get a fez on Open Table so easily!!
Awesome waiter named John !
Good restaurant, but they really missed on the quinoa burger during our most recent visit. We sent the first one back because it was frozen. Waited 15 minutes for the second one, which was slightly better but still cold. The server handled it professionally, but that doesn’t compensate for a meal that was not edible. We went here as part of a fun morning outing with our out-of-town son, which made the poor experience even more disappointing.
Was good, I think the price was a bit high for what it was, but not bad. I’ll be back here and there
Super friendly and attentive server for our 4 person group on a Monday evening. Food was delicious across the board. Cool mixology options, except for the red wines by the glass were kind of pedestrian.
Appetizer and main dish were luke warm. Not impressed with quality of food or preparation based on price.
The wife and I are enjoying a weekend in Naperville. I have been here on business trips and love this area. On previous trips i seen the work on the building that was to be The Craftsman. They did a outstanding job building out the restaurant. We checked out the three levels, had a top notch beer on the third floor and dinner the next night on the second floor. The service and food was top notch! I recommend this for a casual dinner or special occasion.
Brunch with the family was great! Awesome cocktails and the food is delicious! Wonderful service too 😊
We had the opportunity to sit at the Chef's Table for dinner. It was very informative and we had a chance to see all the items as they were being plated. We ended up sharing three of the smaller plates and everything was both creative and delicious.
Beer was good. Food was not good.
One of our favorites. Quiet, thoughtful, not over priced.
This dinner was for a business meal and everyone enjoyed it. A good place to take clients/customers.
We had a great brunch experience. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks were excellent. I would definitely return here again!
We were looking for something different than our old stomping grounds for a Saturday night dinner with family visiting from the city. Chose the Craftsman. We weren't disappointed. The food is really good. Loved the combination plate as an app. Like the farm to table connection to locals in the area. Staff was friendly. Knew their stuff. Need to try some of the other options next time.
I requested a table as far away from the kitchen/bar noise as possible.. oftentimes I walk into a place and they have no note of it etcc.. Here... they immediately sat us along the window upstairs.... perfect!!!!
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and positive!!!
Thankfully I asked... because the proseco by the glass is not on the menu....
My niece loved her eggs benedict!! My bacon/cheese burger was good... not anything different or tastier than anywhere else ...
We went for lunch on Saturday, I was hoping for lunch, but it is only brunch on the weekends, and they didn't have as many items as I was hoping for. The service was good, although we waited quite a while for drink refills.
First time we ate here. Liked it very much. We will be back!!!!
What a surprise! I had no idea a "beer place" would have such great food! Even the "plain" items were done so well. Kudos to the chef!
The cuisine is tasty. Due to the seasonal menu, I guess, the choices were not the same as the ones as I had seen online, so I did not have the opportunity to sample my first choice of entrée.
The portions were OK with some of our dishes. We didn't find them all that appetizing. Parts of our meal were dry, not enough gravy, sparse toppings on the other dishes. The group wasn't happy with their food. Not one dish!
Service was good.
Disabled access is best for wheelchairs, but not for the non-visible disabled. The elevator was all the way to the back of the restaurant and too far for my friend who has walking issues. Poor design.
Don't recommend and will not return.
The menu had scallops, but not in combination with anything else, such as steak or fish. My date and I were both interested in having both steak and scallops so we each had to order one of them and split our meals after we got our food. This was EXTREMELY inconvenient and made me feel like a little kid, but the only option. The steak was GREAT and so was everything that came with it! The scallops were OK, but nothing special, they didn't really come with much of anything on the side, and honestly just wasn't enough food for 1 person. If I had eaten just the appetizer and scallops then I would have left the restaurant still hungry.
Kudos to the server. She was great.
This was our first time at the restaurant. Would we go back? If we both wanted steak....yes! But if either of us wasn't in the mood for steak I'd be somewhat hesitant.
We were seated promptly. The duck breast was great but the burger was a bit charred.
Great coffee and food
The food was mediocre on this visit. My soup was cold. The duck was chewy. The bread pudding was only slightly warm. We were, overall, disappointed.
Great business lunch! Can't wait to go back and have a beer with my dinner the next time I go!
Brunch was great
We went for brunch, and were indoors, so I haven't experienced some aspects of The Craftsman that I feel sure are awesome, such as the rooftop. I hope to go back and try more.
it was a nice experience...our server (forgot her name) was fantastic.. food is very fresh..
the pumpkin panne cotta was amazing
Went for Sunday brunch. Food was delicious and the service was excellent! Will definitely return to try lunch/dinner menus.
We have been here several times and have always had a good experience.
