Food was awful and overpriced. They do not know how to cook a steak. Ordered rare came cooked medium. Sent it back they sent one out raw, totally cold. Marked the 12 oz steak as "market price" as if it were lobster. Two Brothers beer is awesome but either it was old or they did not clean the lines.
We picked this spot based on reviews on line, the food was fantastic, the service was adequate but the restaurant was incredibly loud-so loud it took away from the many great points of the restaurant. There was no way to have a conversation without shouting.
This was our first time having dinner here. Great service and wonderful tasting food/drinks. Had scallops which were largest ones I have ever seen and were delicious! Will be back!
Very good meal and great service.
Great food, great service.server had good suggestions on food and drink items. Will definitely be back.
My family dined at The Craftsman yesterday to celebrate Father's Day. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were so excited to finally give it a try because we are big fans of Two Brothers in general. Well there's a first and a last time for everything and unfortunately, we will not be back due to the extremely poor service and food we received yesterday. I can say that I haven't received such a poor experience/poor service at ANY other restaurant I've ever been to and I am very well versed and well traveled in the Chicago restaurant scene and other foodie destinations across the country. Not to mention, what was supposed to be an amazing family meal to celebrate my husband was completely ruined by the lack of service. The manager showed up at least an hour late/into service so nothing was running even remotely smoothly in the kitchen/waitstaff before that and our waiter kept disappearing for a good 20+ minutes at a time never once checking on us, refilling our drinks, bringing condiments - you know BASIC expectations of any restaurant, fast food or otherwise. In fact, I would receive all of that at Chick-Fil-A for 1/8 of the price we paid yesterday no questions asked. We also overheard him bragging about how "it's been busier and he's been more hungover before" which was certainly anything but appetizing to hear. Seriously SO GROSS! I would never, ever recommend this restaurant to anyone and I don't plan to ever return perhaps even to a Two Brothers establishment ever again.
The two of us came here for breakfast on a Sunday. We enjoyed it very much- we had an omelette, French toast and a side of sausage - delicious! Hoping to return soon.
The food was very good and portions were just right.
Went for a pre-Father’s Day brunch. Service was awesome and very quick but didn’t feel rushed. Food was quite good and very filling! The mimosa of the day was so delicious I wanted to order a pitcher of it. Can’t wait to go back again!!
Food, craft cocktails and ambiance were great!
Great food, a little pricey but good for special occasions.
A tremendous dining experience. Craftsman is one of the gems in downtown Naperville.
Our server was AMAZING. Corinna(sp?) anticipated our every need and was absolutely delightful.
Their quality and consistency has dropped considerably from since they opened. It was quite disappointing. At least the server was very good. Not worth the money anymore.
Great food and experience. Combo board had solid balance. The Duck was flavorful till the last bite. The Craftsman easily contends with Chicago's tops restaurants.
Truly love this place. Farm to table concept with fresh, local ingredients transformed into beautiful, tasty dishes. Very knowledgeable staff - regarding both spirits and food. My go to place when I am looking for a great meal.
Overall very good.Would definitely return
Really great restaurant! My fiancé RAVED about the burger - he said could have been the best he’s ever had. I loved the truffle aioli that came with it for his fries. My lobster gnocchi was great with very generous portions of lobster! My drink was decent, the Moscow Muddler, but a bit heavy on the rosemary. My fiancé had a tequila drink and it was quite good with a healthy kick. We always enjoy Two Brothers beer too! Would definitely recommend!!
Servers were slow - every other table got food before hey came back to take our order . Smoothie order took 10 minutes to arrive at table.
Food itself was excellent and fast once ordered . Biscuits and gravy is one of the best around
We had been to the Third Floor at the Craftsman several times and love the craft cocktails. We decided to give the restaurant a try and we did not regret it. Service was great, good wine selection and great food.
Food is good but menu is too limited and overpriced for what they serve. I get they want to be "farm to table" but the offering isn't exceptional enough to justify the menu prices.
Food was outstanding; service top notch! Consistently our favorite restaurant in the Chicagoland area!
Great food, drinks and service! Perfect for date night! A little on the priceier side but you get your money worth from the quality and taste of the food! Great experience and will come back again and also try to use the rooftop bar after dinner!
Restaurant was barely 25% full, waiter came on as friendly, but we needed to ask for things, for example salt and pepper, bread and butter. Food quality good but portions small for the price. $42 for rib eye that was cooked nicely but nothing special. The halibut serving very small. Took 35 minutes between salad and entre, very poor. We won’t go back.
Food and service were great. It definitely has an upscale feel without being too expensive. Everything there that is handmade was fantastic, definitely need to try.
We were there to celebrate our office achievement. What we had in mind was drinks and appetizers. Our waitress didn’t seem that she was paying attention. On 2 occasions she forgot our drinks. We placed an order for a specific dish but it never came.
The good thing that we weren’t charged but we still wanted to try it
Our server was awesome! Food as always fresh and delish!!
Went for Mother’s Day. Good variety to chose from. Everyone enjoyed their meal
Our waitress was great! She went through the entire menu and drink choices. Was attentive throughout our meal. I just wasn’t too impressed with the overall taste of the food. It didn’t seem special to me. Honestly, it was fairly mediocre. I would go back for an old fashioned and maybe some appetizers but no more main course dinners for me or my business associates.
This place was loud. Very few tables for 2. My husband and I were put into a very busy area with people walking past us constantly. Go here with a group, sit at a long table and yuck it up. Not a date night place at all.
This is the third time I’ve been to The Craftsman and each time is more disappointing. I want to like this place, but the food is pretty horrible. I’d never recommend this place to anyone.
Have been here a couple times now. Once during winter and just a couple weeks ago. Their menu changes a bit which is nice for variety. I love starting out at the third floor bar. Their cocktails are so creative and delicious. Of course their beer is on tap as well. It's cozy and there's a nice patio outside. They escort you downstairs to dinner in their elevator. Fancypants! All of their food is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything here. I love the short rib dish though. Now go make yourself a reservation!
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Food was delicious. Service good. Only minus was the large (loud) group of a dozen or more at the common table. Made it difficult to hear our own conversation.
Wonderful food and city feel!
Slow service, and expensive food made for an average experience.
Wow! The food was amazing. Everything tasted as though it was just picked that day vegetable-wise and seafood-wise absolutely fresh. When simple, yet high quality food is prepared well, the flavors just shine through. The communal seating yields a fairly high noise level but the dining space was clean and bright
After frequenting Two Brothers in Warrenville regularly, we decided to try the Naperville location but were disappointed. Only 6 beers on tap which is about 1/2 of the selection of Warrenville. Beers were not full pint serving and more expensive (so less beer and higher priced than Warrenville). The wine by the class selection is also very base level; not quality wines especially for the price point. I don't mind paying a higher price by the glass but must be worthwhile wines. Started with the Crab and Cheese dip - first time it came out 1/2 cold and 1/2 luke warm. Sent it back for reheating; they gave us a new one. The second version was hot but cheese coagulated into pockets of oil and cheese; also cheese was not a mild white cheese as I'd expect in a crab dip, hence overpowered the crab. At this point we opted to have dinner elsewhere and left.
We came for Sunday Brunch. Started with coffee and a Basil Mimosa-yum! For our main courses, we had the Cuban (pork) and Oscar (crab) benedicts - both were outstanding! Service was perfect. Can't wait to return.
Great food and not as noisy or crowded as other restaurants. Great atmosphere
We had high expectations going in, and they were surpassed. One of my favorite Farm to Table experiences in Chicagoland. My boyfriend had the soup of the day (a chilled spring soup, ramps and asparagus). He normally doesn’t like soup so I was wondering why he ordered it.... but I nearly stole it from him after he offered me a taste. So good!! I started with the salad with house-made ranch dressing. So GOOD! He ordered the trout for his main course, I ordered the lobster gnocchi. The service, drinks, everything was great. We had a nice table by the window. The only “tiny” thing I’d change about this was the noise level. Maybe I’m old, (I’m 42) but an early dinner at 5:30 typically isn’t this loud. I felt like I had to shout, and my date frequently couldn’t hear the server ask us anything with turning around. So even though the decor is beautiful, if it could somehow not reflect every sound in the place, it would be great. But honestly, this is a new favorite restaurant for us!!!
