Another nice spot from the Two Brothers guys. Interesting venue with a coffee shop (and cocktails) on the first floor, nice dining room on the second floor and small plates and cocktail lounge including rooftop bar on the top floor. We had an early Sunday dinner reservation at the 2nd floor restaurant, so it was empty to start with, but filled with a modest crowd by the time we were done. Overall the food was great. I had the braised short rib which was fantastic, only complaint was the dish could’ve been served slightly more hot. My wife had a salad which she enjoyed. Service was fantastic, attentive but not rushed. Decent wine list (and obviously good beer selection). We will go back, especially in the summertime to check out the rooftop bar.
Been here a few times before. As previously, the food was great. It was busier than I had seen it before so it was a little noisier. They were also out of 2 of the desserts (from a list of 4 or 5). That was really my only disappointment.
Hefty prices for small portions. All of our food came out cold when we ordered all hot dishes (burrata and chicken).
As usual, delicious food and wonderful service. One of our favorite places to dine in Naperville!
Overall nice evening. Service and food were good. Think pricing should be $$. $25 for a chicken breast with beans and rice is beyond the 17-20 that I would have expected to pay at a $. Hit may have been the 17 burger that got rave reviews...
Loved it and our server was great!!!
First time eating there- it was really good! The food and drinks did not disappoint! Service was very good as well! I’ve eaten at farm to table before and each time, the food is so good.
Did not like the fact that you had to Climb stairs to get to the 2nd level of the restaurant we waited 20 minutes at our Table before we Asked for A,waiter could we get some service. It was a manager's table and he Was unaware that nobody waited on us. The manager did come over and Apologize and paid for drinks which was good. I think they need to get some kinks out. Not good for handicapped. The coffee shop in the 1st level was extremely overpriced. The décor was pretty cool the film was OK. There is a 3rd level I believe with a lounge the only elevator is on the 2nd floor which you have to have someone working there to use it kind of a crazy set up
We had Easter brunch here today and everything about the experience was terrible. The service was extremely slow and our waitress switched to a different table after we already placed our drink order...ummm? When the new waitress came we had to reorder our drinks since they were clearly not ordered. I ordered the Oscar egg Benedict which was a total disappointment. The crab was not fresh and the egg was cooked too long it became hard boiled. My brother also ordered an egg Benedict dish and his egg had the same problem. The waitress would disappear for long gaps of time and seemed overwhelmed (which the restaurant was not busy). Finally, we order coffee and liquor after our meal which took forever to come to our table and when it did, it was room temperature. This meal was truly comical! We will definitely never return or recommend this place.
Easter Brunch was amazing!!
Great vibe, creative menu and excellent service!
First time dining here - will most definitely return! Service was very attentive, food presentation, flavor and portion size was excellent. I’ve frequented their Aurora location did years - this has a slightly different vibe, but the quality is on par.
Few suggestions: better insulation and/or ventilation near the windows - our seat was next to the window and we were cold, even tho it was about 40 outside.
A breadbasket would be nice - I know Aurora doesn’t, but the price point is also lower.
We weren’t offered a salad or soup when our waitress took our order - found that a bit odd, as well.
Absolutely loved it!
Great atmosphere and the food was fantastic!
Stale, sterile environment and ambience. Extremely slow service. Appetizer not as described - we left after appetizers and drinks as we were very unhappy.
We arrived < 30 minutes before the kitchen closed. The restaurant was relatively empty, but we were greeted warmly. Our waitress was very friendly, the food was better than expected. We had the lobster carbonara - it was delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant and hope to return on another trip to the greater Chicago area.
Had the Southern Benedict and it was super good. The cinnamon rolls are as big as your FACE.
The Craftsman is a triple threat - coffee house on the lower level, restaurant mid level and a rooftop with indoor and outdoor seating. I’ve been both for brunch and for drinks and have enjoyed my visits. The food and drinks are great - coffee, Bloody Mary, cocktails and of course the beer.
We have always had great service and food. The menu offerings continue to evolve and improve.
I went and had brunch with some friends and this was the first time that we went. Oh my goodness. It was AMAZING! Love it! I’ll be going back!!
A very pleasant surprise. Great food, seasonal selections of farm to table food. Expertly prepared. Perfect restaurant for those with gluten intolerance. And a wonderful wine selection. Delicious.
We had the oxtail pasta and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was very soggy, and extremely bland, the oxtail was subpar. The pork belly was pretty good and the buratta rustica was good. The apple pie desert was good, as were the cocktails. Overall let down. Service was rather good.
I went here with a couple of friends recently. The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is great. I had the duck breast, and I would highly recommend it! Love coming here! Make sure you also explore the cocktail bar on the third floor.
Excellent food! Sat at the chefs table and was able to see the kitchen hard at work! Fantastic food and I’ll be back!
Had a small 80th birthday dinner for Mom. Food great. Noise level at our table in the back near the kitchen was perfect for conversation. Appealed to every one from ages 80-25! Delicious food.
Hidden Gem in a city full of restaurants, best server I've ever had in Naperville.
Well considered menu based in locally sourced food. Extremely well prepared. Wine list packed with interesting values. As expected a strong beer menu. Service attentive but not intrusive. Great space to dine.
Not a good experience. Won’t be back.
Nice enough place, but it didn't wow me. From the start, the host didn't communicate well about the status of our reservation. Since you walk into the coffee bar on the first level, it's not obvious what the status is upstairs. He asked for our name, said they were busing the table, and that was it. It wasn't ready at 7:00 which I don't really mind, but there was not time estimate, and no sense to even suggest to us that we could grab a drink at the small bar downstairs. After waiting a while, we finally did.
Upstairs, the waitress didn't ask us for drinks right away. Only two of us had gotten drinks downstairs, so it should have been the first thing she did.
Of the 6 entrees, 2 had to be sent back. One was supposed to be a medium steak that came out rare. To The Craftsman's credit, they didn't charge for it.
I really did like my food. The Two Brothers beer is always good, but I had hoped they'd have something special/unique. (There was a $40 750ml wild sour. I'd love to try it, but I'd rather get it as a $10 or $15 draft.)
The reality of the Craftsman does not match the image that it is trying to project.
Overall the food was good. We were the first in on a Saturday for brunch. Our waiter seemed irritated the entire time which almost made us fear him. Will probably go back for brunch as there are literally almost no decent brunch places on the weekends in the suburbs that isn’t a greasy egg kind of place.
We had a great time. Very good food.
We came for V-Day and they had a special menu set up. All the food was prepared extremely well and was delicious. Atmosphere was good with everyone being very close to each other but not on top of you. I will be coming here again.
Valentine’s Day menu at $60/head. Most of the food was just ok. Scollops were the only thing that was actually worth the money. Money would have been better spent in the city. Ambiance could have been better if lighting wasn’t so bright.
Good but overpriced. Service started off really well and attentive. When we arrived the place was almost dead.
I ordered one of their inventive cocktails which was delicious. They had unique combinations and quite a few concoctions that sounded delicious.
We ordered the charcuterie with cheese board. It took like 15 minutes for the board to arrive, the meats were nothing worth the wait or special other than the spicey and tangy spreadable salami. The cheese was decent to good albeit run of the mill. The beer crackers and honey were delicious and the other sides were meh.
I ordered the pork while my wife ordered the fish. By the time we ordered our main course, the restaurant had picked up a bit and we now had three other tables accompanying us. We waited for what seemed linger than we should.
Worth the wait? My wife's fish was cooked perfect and had great flavors. The risotto was flavorful and creamy. Fish crispy seared exterior and moist and flaky on the inside. My pork was overcooked from the first bite to the last. The server stopped by and asked how and I let him know. He offered to get me a new one but I felt that as slow as the kitchen was and as hungry as I was, I didn't want to wait again. He apologized and said they normally produce a nice medium. That sounds nice but mine was almost beyond well done. For $25 for a 6oz cut of pork they should nail it. The sides were great and complimented each other well, but the pork was just too dry.
After we finished we were offered desert as an apology. A nice touch. The carrot cake was one of the best ever. Rich robust spices with silky smooth frosting. Yummy! My wife had a cheese cake that was also delicious and really well made.
Pros, good cocktails, good deserts.
Cons, inattentive management and slow inconsistent kitchen.
All this being said, I will definitely come back for another try. I'll just steer away from ordering pork.
I brought two overseas customers who enjoyed the local brews and local ingredients.
Cocktail menu at the bar upstairs is great for a pre or after dinner drink. Food was great at the restaurant
My first visit. The food was very good. Very good service and well managed. We’ll be back.
A fun, lively super food restaurant in Naperville! A local that I will support!
Food is consistently fabulous!
Excellent Service Emma our waitress was terrific as was the food.
