We have been here several times and have always had a good experience.
We sat on the chef's table, got very different perspective on kitchen and staff. Head chef was very nice and personable. My husband and I had a great experience.
Was a great night out would recommend it to everyone. Food was really good service was right on.
Scallops were served cold/undercooked and two menu items were charged at the wrong price.
Great concept with using hot stone to cook protein. Despite that we were first to arrive at restaurant, it took forever to get our entrees after our salad. Server must have forgotten to put in our full order. Menu was extensive and priced well for what we received. Good to try once but not compelled to return.
It was our first time. Service was great. The food was good. We were not impressed by the dessert, very disappointing (apple cake). It was dry and crumbly which is odd for an apple cake.
Hubby & I came here to celebrate our 9th anniversary. We loved that everything was local, farm to table cuisine! AND tons of gluten free options on menu. They even toasted & sliced up a GF bun to go with the burrata :) really attentive & friendly server; all the tables were filled yet we still got our food & drinks quickly. Only qualm was that the wine pours were a little weak...must be what 5oz looks like versus the 6-8oz I feel like I’m usually served.
Great for adults, not so good for kids. It takes a lot for my kids to refuse noodles with butter. Yet, this was the worst they’d ever had. My husband’s and my meals were extraordinary! Next time we will leave the kids at home.
The farm-to-table food at The Craftsman is pretty fantastic. Servers are knowledgeable too. Check them out!
Everything was great! Cassandra was amazing! The food was outstanding. I can't wait to go back!
The service was good and the Décor was interesting although I don't think I would want to be seated in the higher chairs. The noise level was Defining. The acoustics were terrible. I realize it was Saturday night and probably peek dinner time but my wife and I could not even hear each other across the table. The food was good but I would not say outstanding. ):
Not very vegetarian or vegan friendly. Usually farm to table places do better. As a vegetarian that can't have corn I could basically have salad. Not the best with beer.
Great food. Great concept!
The restaurant was not very crowded, our wait staff were attentive and helpful. We chose small plates: cauliflower, shrimp, burrata. Each was delicious. We enjoyed the whole experience. We will be back.
Didn’t like a host. He wasn’t sure what he was doing. We came like 10 minutes prior to our scheduled time and wanted to sit by the bar. The host replied that it’s best if we waited just there. I found that rude. Food is overpriced, for no reason. However the overall experience was good. We still enjoyed ourselves. It’s a one time place, not coming back.
Disappointed in the high noise level, the salty burger and the poor service. The service was very slow. The crab avocado salad was very good. Nicely decorated but tables extremely close. Would not go back again.
Thought the beer and good was excellent!’
Loved that foos was locally sourced
I have eaten at The Craftsman many times. Friday night was the 1st time I didn’t have great service or food. Food was a bit bland. It was my birthday and the waitress forgot my dessert and brought everyone else’s. I also looked on line at the menu to decide my dinner choice. They didn’t have the same menu and that was disappointing as well.
The food was fresh and interesting and the drinks selection was fun. Good beer and fun cocktails. The service was attentive, but not fussy. We found the room a bit noisy, so conversation was a bit of a challenge. We would go back.
The service was good. My husband and I really enjoyed the food. Highly recommend the steak with Brussels sprouts!
The food, service, cocktails and ambience were all spot on. The good was great quality, although a bit pricey. Also, I got a note from Open Table saying we didn’t honor our reservation, when in reality we actually checked in twice (by accident upstairs) and then downstairs.
We enjoyed Sunday brunch here. We made a reservation through OpenTable 20 minutes before arriving. There were a good amount of people there but it wasn't too packed. I had scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a smoothie. My husband had the apple pancakes and a bloody mary. Overall food was good, came out as ordered, and we didn't have to wait too long. They also accommodated our 8 month old son with a high chair. We would return. It's a good brunch place for fresh food. Also, one of the few breakfast/brunch venues in downtown Naperville that also serves alcoholic beverages.
Cassandra took care of us for our first time visit. Everything was spot on. She allowed us to take our time but was available every time a drink was empty or we were ready to order the next course. She engaged in great conversation timed appropriately. She really rounded out the whole experience and took special consideration for a drink request. We also had drinks in third floor bar before dinner. Bar staff was knowledgeable and attentive as well . All in all a great dinner out for a birthday celebration.
My impression is that this place won't be around much longer. The menu is overpriced and pretty unimaginative. And as far as I can tell, they never update the menu or offer any specials. The first couple times we were there the place was packed and the noise level was unpleasant because of the poor design of the room. This last time, the noise level was moderate because the place was almost empty (even though it was a Saturday night). There are better options in downtown Naperville and the The Craftsman, sadly, doesn't appear to be trying very hard to compete.
Awesome experience. Couldn't have had a better time.
The service was excellent. The food was great. Most of the food is farm to table.
This was a brunch fundraiser for Naperville Humane Society. The food was excellent and the manager was so nice to us. He gave us a free drink for supporting the humane society and having therapy dogs in the schools. With four levels counting the roof, we will be back. Would be great for a wedding rehearsal dinner
Way too expensive for what I ordered. There needs to be a lunch menu with more reasonable prices.
Very limited menu and pricey for what you get. First time there. Layout similar to Burger Social in Wheaton, but no downstairs seating except for outside. Don’t think I’ll be back.
My husband and I were so excited to try this place out, however, our expectations fell a little short. While the food itself and service were fantastic, the prices were ridiculous! My basic pasta dish was almost $30, and my husband paid $35 for 5 scallops - and the plates were small. This is NOT downtown Chicago, and these prices can't be justified by "local produce". We left a little hungry and cash poor. We probably will not be back.
Food was awful and overpriced. They do not know how to cook a steak. Ordered rare came cooked medium. Sent it back they sent one out raw, totally cold. Marked the 12 oz steak as "market price" as if it were lobster. Two Brothers beer is awesome but either it was old or they did not clean the lines.
We picked this spot based on reviews on line, the food was fantastic, the service was adequate but the restaurant was incredibly loud-so loud it took away from the many great points of the restaurant. There was no way to have a conversation without shouting.
This was our first time having dinner here. Great service and wonderful tasting food/drinks. Had scallops which were largest ones I have ever seen and were delicious! Will be back!
Very good meal and great service.
Great food, great service.server had good suggestions on food and drink items. Will definitely be back.
My family dined at The Craftsman yesterday to celebrate Father's Day. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were so excited to finally give it a try because we are big fans of Two Brothers in general. Well there's a first and a last time for everything and unfortunately, we will not be back due to the extremely poor service and food we received yesterday. I can say that I haven't received such a poor experience/poor service at ANY other restaurant I've ever been to and I am very well versed and well traveled in the Chicago restaurant scene and other foodie destinations across the country. Not to mention, what was supposed to be an amazing family meal to celebrate my husband was completely ruined by the lack of service. The manager showed up at least an hour late/into service so nothing was running even remotely smoothly in the kitchen/waitstaff before that and our waiter kept disappearing for a good 20+ minutes at a time never once checking on us, refilling our drinks, bringing condiments - you know BASIC expectations of any restaurant, fast food or otherwise. In fact, I would receive all of that at Chick-Fil-A for 1/8 of the price we paid yesterday no questions asked. We also overheard him bragging about how "it's been busier and he's been more hungover before" which was certainly anything but appetizing to hear. Seriously SO GROSS! I would never, ever recommend this restaurant to anyone and I don't plan to ever return perhaps even to a Two Brothers establishment ever again.
The two of us came here for breakfast on a Sunday. We enjoyed it very much- we had an omelette, French toast and a side of sausage - delicious! Hoping to return soon.
The food was very good and portions were just right.
Went for a pre-Father’s Day brunch. Service was awesome and very quick but didn’t feel rushed. Food was quite good and very filling! The mimosa of the day was so delicious I wanted to order a pitcher of it. Can’t wait to go back again!!
Food, craft cocktails and ambiance were great!
