Don’t miss this place! Excellent cocktails, food, and atmosphere!
First visit. We actually got married at the chefs prior restaurant, Sassi. Wanted to give them 5 stars but the food selection was simply not as great as Sassi. Don’t get me wrong, everything was good, just not all of it was 5 star which is what I was expected. Give it a try if you’re in the neighborhood. If you never ate at Sassi I’m sure you’ll love it.
Great experience! Food, drinks and service was excellent!
The atmosphere was a great sports bar feeling, and the food was better than most Sports Bars.
The specialty Drinks are well worth trying
Since moving further North in Scottsdale, this is our new go-to for our weekend dining!
Had a wonderful time! Excellent food and ambiance to celebrate a birthday with friends and family!
Went here on a lark. Had a great time. Food was very good. Excellent wine and beer options. Cocktails looked good too. Prices were reasonable. Casual dining. We will add this to our list of regular restaurants. The branding was great!
Food & service are great - decor as well - but lighting is funky - way too bright & white - just need to replace the white led bulbs with warmer led’s. Easy fix - will make it much better.
Overall we really enjoyed our meal here, so more like 4.5 stars, there were just a few things that kept this from being 5 stars.
First the good - We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was full. I ordered the heavy handed grilled cheese and hubs ordered the blacksmith BBQ chicken sandwich and both were tasty and good sized portions. The confit chicken thighs were moist and amazing and IMO did not need the bbq sauce at all although that was good too ( we got it on the side) The combination of cheeses and spicy fig jam was amazing. The fries were hot and perfectly cooked and the side salad was excellent with the passion fruit citrus vinegrette.
Now the opportunities - We did wait a bit for service after we were seated, but I can't fault our server. They all seemed a bit overwhelmed and it looked like several large tables had just been seated before we got there. Next, although the foccia the grilled cheese was served on was delicious on its own, as a sandwich the bread to fillings ratio was off - way too much bread. I ended up scraping the cheese off the top half and just eating the bottoms open face style. Lastly, the prices seemed a little steep for sandwiches, but the quality was high, and you know - Scottsdale.
So as I said overall a really good experience, and we saw some other dishes going out that also looked amazing and we would want to try so we will definitely go back.
Awesome menu and service. You can see that care goes into the menu to keep things fresh as well as delicious. The perfect number of options (not a lot nor too little). Everything we ordered tasted amazing. Cool cocktail selection with spirits and beer distilled in house. From the team greeting and seating us, the server and all other helping, we couldn’t have felt more welcomed. Even on a busy night they kept it together. The only thing that might bother some is the noise level. It is very loud. We were sitting closer to the back with many have been one reason, and I’m sure during nicer weather the patio is much different. We felt like we were yelling across the table all evening. That however didn’t change how great the dining was overall.
Great cocktails, beer and wine selection. Food is excellent. Great place for upscale bar fare. Pork shank is amazing!
Another great meal
Amazing food and atmosphere! Honestly the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had. Can't wait to go back! Service was great too!
Everything was amazing. Very above average attentive service. The food was really awesome and extra special. They use the very best produce available and you can taste the difference. The tomato & burrata, volcano pork, and desert branzino are highly recommended.
Food and service are always exceptional.
Fantastic flat bread! Please keep it on the menu.
This is new favorite restaurant in Scottsdale. The lavender sour made with house-made gin is wonderfully refreshing drink on a warm day. The fish and chips are the best I've had! The cod was so fresh and cooked perfectly with a wonderfully light batter. The service was great!
Excellent service from Brady. Food was absolutely delicious and so incredibly fresh. The chef really elevates their dishes. Simple but lively atmosphere . Great spirits!
This was our second visit and was again impressed with the food and service. This time we sampled several of their specialty cocktails and we were not disappointed. Many of their cocktails are their version of some classics (Old Fashion, e.g.) using the house liquors. Strongly recommend adding this to your experience if you visit.
This will be now our new favorite restaurant! Love the vibe and the owner and Executive Chef Chistopher Nicosia (previous Executive Chef of Sassi's in Scottsdale) has brought over his creativity. Creative comfort and Seasonally Fresh! Plus hand-crafted creative cocktails and craft beers! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Fish and chips were great. Pork shank was great. Super loud. Good beer
Inattentive service, expect more for cost.
Chef Chris likes to change his menu from time to time and although we’ve enjoyed some nice meals in the past, this last time it was not great. Service was fine and everyone was friendly, but the food was so-so. The Desert sea bass was rather tasteless and the first bite had a bone in it. Yikes!
They had to substitute crawfish for the usual crab component in the west coast roll and it didn’t really work.
Really liked the artisan pasta with sausage but it is not on the menu now. The grilled cheese is great too, but can’t get that every time. Too bad we like the place and have had good food there in the past. Great beer list though. We will go back again.
We love this place. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth it! We will go back many times I’m sure.
This is a great place for a casual meal and cocktails. Unassuming, it provide a variety of sandwiches and entrees that are done with extremely high quality. My muffaletta was outstanding as were my wife's fish and chips. I would have preferred a few better wines by the glass, but they were good enough, and the focus here is definitely on their home brew beer and cocktails. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I look forward to sampling more menu items. Also, if you have Covid concerns, the place is very open and two wall are retractable and were open the evening we were there, providing to more than adequate ventilation.
Awesome food and service! This is the 2nd time we have been and will definitely be going back.
Great food and drinks in a stylish atmosphere. The tomato, melon and burrata salad is a must-try!
Love everything about this place! The Lavender Sour (must have drink) + Chartuterie Board + Olives are great starters. The Pork Volcano is plenty of food to share for two people and the flavor and presentation are perfection. Highly recommend!
Diverse Menu with nice service for 10. We enjoyed our time! Abit loud otherwise a 5.
The creative food and cocktails were exceptional. The gnocchi was very pillowy and the peas, pea purée and pea shoots were inspired. The Volcano Pork was also awesome with tons of flavor and just the right amount of heat. I would definitely like to go back and try more dishes.
Great food but would be nice to have healthier options
Food was very good and service was wonderful. Noise level was a bit over the top.
good service the food was good and cocktails good
One of our favorite local places. Our server Sara is the best!
The food was delicious- our server was good it had a lot of people to wait on - seemed a little short staffed but he did well and we were in no hurry so al was good
Menu on paper looks good, taste lacked on both items we ordered. Wine choices good, if you want craft beer or spirits you will have more choices. Noise was an issue. Two days before we ate across the parking lot at Local Bistro, a much better choice, but no TV's if you want sports while you eat. We will not return to Craftmans.
Katelynn our server and the bar manager made my husband’s bday dinner one to remember! Her attention to detail and her knowledge of the menu were second to none and her ability to mix us refreshing cocktails all night long was exactly what we needed! As always, Chef Chris was on pointe with taste, portion, and quality. The bar area and restaurant were spotless …. so fresh snd clean … you could almost eat right off of the tables and the counters! Wish we could patronize this place every day!! Without a doubt, our favorite spot in North Scottsdale.
Great Food and Service. Fun, casual atmosphere in upscale Scottsdale.
Volcano Pork was Outstanding as is the Orecchiette with sausage and broccolini.
Love this place. My husband said the short ribs were among the best he's ever had. And I always ask for their cumin vinaigrette dressing... nummy!
I love this spot! I've been here many times and always have had a great experience. We chose to spend our Father's Day at The Craftsman and I'm so happy we did! The new summer menu items are AMAZING. My husband was so happy about the mussels! The vibe is always great, and Chef Chris did a great job saying hi to the guests and checking in on us. Highly recommend.
