We had an exceptional experience at the Cowford Chophouse. The food was excellent...and the service was even better. We enjoyed dinner in the Reataurant, then went to the rooftop to admire the fantastic view. It was a wonderful evening out!
I enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner with my family! CC definitely made the occasion feel special and the food was wonderful.
The food was really great. We had the tomahawk and the japanese waygu and both were delicious. However, the kale and spinach were under salted and the truffle butter was lacking some truffle. Aside from that the food, the wine and the serving staff were amazing.
Of note, we arrived earlier then our reservation time and spent some time on the rooftop bar (which was great) and were told we would be notified when our table was ready, however, we were never notified, even once our appointment time arrived.
Everything was perfect. The entire experience was wonderful, great food, great service and nice ambiance.
As someone who grew up on a cattle farm, I like to think that I know a little something about beef! As first-timer to Cowford Chophouse, I had high expectations - and Cowford Chophouse greatly EXCEEDED them! Everything about the experience was spot on. From when we first arrived and enjoyed a drink and "Cowford Rocks" (see photo) in the upstairs bar all the way through dessert, we enjoyed incredible food and atmosphere. If you have never had the Spinalis, I can't recommend it enough. If you think that filet mignon is tender - try the American Wagyu Spinalis - even more tender and incredibly flavorful. There are so many restaurants in Jacksonville - but, only a few true, fine dining establishments that are locally owned and managed. Cowford Chophouse is a Jacksonville treasure - you must go!
The scenery was absolutely beautiful! The service was amazing and the food was exceptional. We will be returning.
Had a horrible experience first time visiting. Server gave us stale, cold bread.
Amazing dinner and service. Impeccable plating and a variety of high end cuts. The cinnamon bun creme brele needs a bit more "moisture" (probably some icing around the non-creme bruled middle), but otherwise, it's a slam dunk.
Awesome time with friends on my birthday
This is our second time visiting for my husband’s birthday. The first time we dined on the second floor and this time we dined on the rooftop. The rooftop has great views! I like the rooftop better, it’s more relaxed and casual. We had a party of 4. We all shared the seafood tower for an appetizer which was delicious! We also ordered the wedge salad, Filet Mignon, Sea Bass, Sirloin, She Crab soup and the sides were Asparagus, Carrots, Whipped Potatoes and Fries and drinks. We brought our own cake which is a $2.50/per person charge. All the food was great. Our server Nick was friendly. We will definitely visit again.
Best dinner I’ve had in Jacksonville. Large variety and everything from drinks, starters, entrees, sides and desserts were outstanding. Service was excellent and impressive. And an after-dinner cocktail on rooftop lounge is highly recommended!
The service was excellent, my steak wasn't done right. The staff was very apologetic about the steak. The manager accommodated our inconvenience of having the steak returned. The restaurant payed attention to detail and didn't overlook our experience.
I had a great experience at Cowford Chophouse. The service was top notch and the steak was some of the best I’ve had. The one unexpected disappointment was the duck fat cornbread starter - it was a dry bread and the crab meat was one note with the dill.
Absolutely fantastic. Treated like royalty. Loved it
One of our favorite places in Jacksonville! Love the rooftop bar for drinks before going down to dinner . Excellent staff !
My husband's tomahawk was definitely on the cooler side, so much so the truffle butter wouldn't melt on it. Lamb chops were ok, good but not particularly great. Wagyu was nice, but definitely not the same standard as Homestead in NYC. Baked Alaska had a heavy meringue that was way too thick, sweet and well, heavy, Creme brûlée far too sweet. I don't think we'll be in a rush to go back and spend $150 or so per person due to the ambience and the mediocre to good, but far from outstanding food. There are much better choices in the area for upscale steaks and dining.
From start to finish it was excellent. Our first experience was great. Extra Kudos to our waiter Porter he was attentive and energetic!
Food was great! We really enjoy the place. Was pretty stupid they wanted us to wear a mask but other than the ridiculous mask policy it was great.
One of the best restaurants I’ve dined at in the entire state of Florida. Absolutely loved the homemade bread basket, asparagus, shrimp cocktail, filet, and French fries. Their ketchup for the fries was entirely different than any I’ve ever had with a spice to it and I loved it. The cappuccino I could drink every day. The Crème Brulee was an amazing treat. The rooftop bar with the view of the bridge was beautiful. I loved everything about the Cowford Chophouse and will definitely be back. So glad we chose it for our very special occasion meal! Thank you!
Spectacular experience from begining to end. Our Waiter, John, was the ultimate professional -friendly, extremely knowledgeable, helpful and attentive, but not smothering. The food was was prepared perfectly amd served at the proper pace with wonderful [presentation. Thjis is absolutley Fine Dining at its Finest.
We had a great birthday dinner here! Complimentary valet, extremely friendly and knowledgeable server, yummy food.
Everything was perfect. Food quality was excellent and service was superb.
We went for an anniversary dinner. It was a wonderful dining experience, Very 'gluten free' friendly, anf the presentations were spot on. The bacon ice cream threw the ole taste buds a curveball, but enhanced the experience.
Ate outside on the top floor. Perfect view of the fireworks Misty did a great job with service. Been here before and they haven’t disappointed.
we have a wonderful evening, thank you! we definitely will come back.
The restaurant was stunning! A lovely place for a romantic dinner!
Our first experience was several months after opening. We were disappointed. It took a while for us to give Cowford a second look. The second visit was completely different. the food was great, the service was awesome and we felt safe with their pandemic preparedness. We will be back for sure!
The service was amazing. Our serve was excellent (Andy).
An excellent evening with family and wouldn't change anything they or we did !
Generally had a great experience. My steak was a little overcooked and they replaced it though it to take some time. Everyone else’s meals were Appropriately cooked and tasted good.
Wonderful way to spend a birthday evening.
The view was amazing, but the food was under-whelming. Fish was over cooked and dry... only one Vegetarian option on the full menu.
The value based on the Tasty’s or quality of the food - was horrible.
4 people (2 glasses of wine total, 2 appetizers total and 1 dessert outside the 4 meals) $465. Not 1 of the 4 of us said they loved their meals. Not 1 of us said they thought it was worth the price. Not 1 of us even said- wow I’d go back.
It was a memorable dinner, thanks for the wonderful food and service.
It was amazing as always! Thanks
The food and the service our waitress was outstanding. The only “complain” it would be the rooftop hostess was a bit mad or in a really bad mood. But overall was excellent.
This was our first time to Cowford Chophouse and it lived up to the hype! Our server, Amy, was friendly and knowledgeable and definitely helped make our dining experience wonderful. Tables were spaced out and the staff wears masks, making for a safe environment. Well worth the trip downtown. We will be back!
Had a wonderful dining experience. Definitely will be back again.
If you are looking for the best service in Jacksonville, look no further. The food is good but you definitely pay for it. I knew that we would be paying for quality as the prices are not listed online. It is important to note that the cheapest entree is $40, so as a couple be prepared to drop at least $100 on entrees alone without alcohol, sides, or gratuity. The service was absolutely impeccable. Our waiter, Jonathon, was phenomenal. The atmosphere is nice but for the price we would have liked a more intimate setting. Overall it was a great meal but it is a place to treat yourself not a place we would frequent often, especially with the current financial environment.
waiter left us unattended for more than 10 minutes
All good except steaks need to come out hot. I think they rest too long and come out warm and slightly over done.
