   Friendly, but inexperienced server. Maybe nerves causing forgetfulness or maybe a lack of attention. Not a great number of diners, but there were some issues with other diners' getting their orders understood. Food was good. There didn't seem to be many beers/ales on tap.

   We parked in the pub car park right next to the pub. Just received a £100 parking fine for parking in "The Cow Shed car park". Didn't see any signs, certainly not prominent and being a small village and a pub car park, wouldn't have even thought this could be a possibility. Apparently we can appeal by producing evidence that we ate there (provided we do that in 14 days albeit that the credit card bill may not be received in time. What a waste of time! Just tried to submit the appeal with all the documentary evidence. This was a timely process, most unwelcome and I am outraged that we even have to bother. This is not the way to treat your customers, the signage was NOT obvious nor was any mention of it made by the wait or the bar staff. To the extent that people using the car park for the wrong reasons in the past as a motivation for creating the parking eye arrangement, then you need to find another way to manage those behaviours than punishing innocent customers who then have to do to lengths to prove their innocence, upload receipts etc. I will never come to this establishment again and am happy to share this negative experience because of the stress of receiving a fine which is clearly labelled as an enforceable fine for private car parks.

   The food was gorgeous, service was excellent and the music was at a level that was not distracting or intrusive. I’m so glad I visited with my daughter and grandson and will definitely visit again.

   Great surroundings inside and out and nice clean dining areas; very nice decor; great customer service; nice bar area; decent restroom facilities; nice outdoor areas ie gardens; comfortable; spacious; quality food and drinks served; decent full menu available with choices for all tastes; decent full drinks menu; parking area attached is adequate and very close by; all staff seemed friendly and helpful; suitable for families (was lunchtime/early afternoon time); Definitely intending to return here soon :)

   We had a fabulous young waitress who had bags of enthusiasm and was a credit to you. The food was very good and pretty good value. We are planning to come back for Father’s Day. I used to drink at the ship years ago and I know it has a good core of locals who enjoy a beer and a joke but I do think now it is a more restauranty pub that atmosphere could put off familys especially as you have to walk through people to get to the restaurant area or back to the toilets etc. on the whole though a very good experience thank you.

   Good gluten free options on menu. Make sure the courses are served in order, not altogether. Enthusiastic young staff, maybe a bit more training for some.A happy environment, I wish them success.

   We celebrated 36 years of marriage here yesterday. When booking through open table had no idea about it being quiz night. Thank you for still serving us brilliantly we did not stay for the quiz but had a great time anyway. It was lovely to see so many people. The food was fantastic and a lot of it. Spicy chicken really is spicy and good. Husband's burger was a double which he did not expect and the chips were seasoned just right. We are planning on coming again and introducing the place to our daughter. Thank you so much

    Lovely Sunday lunch, one had the pork and one the beef and both were delicious. Staff were as friendly as always
