Service was awesome!!! Fun décor an food was good. We did find it to be a bit more expensive than expected. Overall a good experience and the great service would bring us back again.
Food was very good along with a great Cosmo.
Wonderful food, atmosphere and friendly staff. Had scallops which were Devine.
If you haven't been to the Covenant, you definitely need to go! The food is amazing and the service was excellent (thanks Case!). The atmosphere has a great vibe and we really enjoyed the quality of the food & drinks. We might have found our new favorite place and we'll definitely be back!
After a wonderful visit during Az Restaurant Week, we were looking forward to returning to The Covenant. That being said, this visit could only be described as very disappointing! The service was lackluster at best. The food average to be kind. But the ambiance was just dead. I can’t imagine we’ll be returning!
The Covenent is really an awesome local restaurant. It has a vibe of simple elegance and the food, service and ambience are very desirable. I highly recommend this establishment.
Great service, great food and delicious drinks!
Some really amazing food here. Like special type good. Everything was absolutely amazing except that the service was a bit lacking. I would understand if it was incredibly busy but it was just an average night and we were sometimes waiting 30 minutes in between even seeing our server. We also ordered a side as an addition that took so long to come out that we were done eating and didn’t even want it by the time it came. We were ready for the check and then it finally came out. We both we slightly confused. Other than that however, everything was absolutely amazing and all the food is delicious.
Appetizers were the best. Entrees good. Did not expect t.v’s. Slightly too much noise for easy conversation.
Delicious scallops and prime rib. It was freezing inside, windows open during a cold rain storm. Once they shut the windows, it was nice.
Second time here and everything was very good. I had the beet salad with ny steak strips and my other half had the prime rib dip. We had the chicken before which was good but they were out of it. They were also out of a few of the drinks I wanted to get but the one I got, tequila with lemon/peach and ginger was excellent. Definitely will come back
First time at The Covenant. We were there on a Sunday night as a party of 4 with reservations at 6:30. The place was about 10% occupied. The restaurant is beautiful and the food and service were excellent. We were seated in a booth by the open kitchen. I suspect it can be very noisy on a busy night.
One person in our party has shellfish allergies and the server and chef were very accommodating to his needs. We had charred octopus with prawns as a starter, which was surprisingly delicious! For the main course we had sea bass and the ravioli. Both were wonderful. I can’t stop thinking about the ravioli..... it was delicate and so flavorful.
The only drawback to the restaurant is the display of multiple TVs around the bar which intermittently flashed bright light our way. Distracting and intrusive while we dined. The TVs seemed out of place for the ambience considering the food price and elegant look of the restaurant.
Overall, very good and we would return.
My son ordered a steak that was on special . Came cold . Sent it back and it came cold again. I asked to talk to the manager , explained to him how disappointed we were that twice the food was not served warm. He was not very nice about it , got very defensive. When my husband spoke up , the manager then said he would take care of the check. While I appreciated the gesture , I would have expected him to come over before I had to ask to speak with him. I would have also expected him to not give me a hard time at all, but to have made a nice gesture (buy dessert?) from to begin with.
Food prepared incorrectly and the waiter changed the subject
Under cooked vegetables
This was my second time there and won’t be going back
The meatball appetizer is very good. Happy they had their shrimp and grits as a special the night we were there... it’s delicious! All of the burgers ordered were spot on perfect as well. We consistently have close to perfect meals at The Covenant!
Went to celebrate my birthday and had a great time.
Soup needed warming, but came back piping hot!
Food was average and expensive for what it was.
Missed the short rib dish they used to have but still good food!
Delicious food, great ambiance. Had the sea bass and veggies, the best! Servers could have been a bit more attentive, needed water refills a couple of times and had to seek someone out. Anyone! Hubby had the Ribeye, shared it with son; amazing. Upscale restaurant, for sure. Ask for the booths that are open to the outside; looked very appealing from our tables down below.
The bartender was really rude to us. She was having a bad night.
The Room is spectacular. Then we were greeted by our Server John, sad to say things went downhill from that point on. He was cocky, very pushy and all told not a pleasant fellow. His main objective appeared to be to raise the bill by strongly suggesting only the high end dishes .My Wife and I , and our friends did not bite and we ordered what we wanted. My Wife and I shared the chopped salad , good, but not nearly as good as it was at other restaurants. My default main course was the chicken panini , it was okay. My Wife ordered the Charred Octopus, again good but not as good as other restaurant's preparation. Our friends had burgers which appeared to be well prepared. Ironically "charming" John went into a long tirade when they requested medium rare burgers. He said that the restaurant doesn't allow the use of a temperature in ordering the burgers. In all candor he scared me off, thus I ordered the panini.
What should have been a pleasant evening with friends turned out to be more unpleasant than pleasant.
Food was excellent and brought quickly to the table
Expensive, but still very nice for a date night or a casual dinner with friends. I suggest trying one of the weekly food specials, as those items stood out a lot more than the regular menu items. Superb wine and spirits list, but was disappointed that the whisky we ordered came on the rocks. Overall wonderful experience!
Good food. Loud so it was hard to be intimate. I had hoped the menu would have been more diverse. Overall good experience.
Great Brunch. We enjoyed ourselves, the food, drinks, and atmosphere. We were able to get some back-up smoked salmon as our 2 year old GrandDaughter ate most of my entree. A great place. We will be back.
My son was in town for the weekend.
We have been many times and they always seem to prepare a special you really want to try....Sea Bass this time and it was fantastic. It's one of my top 2 neighborhood restaurants. Well be back...sa ya then!
It was our first time at Covenant and it won’t be the last! The staff was so friendly, our waiter was personable and the GM made a point of coming over and welcoming my daughter to Scottsdale! The sea bass was incredible!! It was a beautiful cut and cooked to perfection! My daughters NY steak melted in your mouth! Order the Bruschetta and Hummus for starters... it’s a brand new take on it and we were blown away!! You will be too! It’s gorgeous inside too!! Like being inside a blue wave with crystals!
We were there on a slow night, so I'm not sure how the noise levels would be if they were busy. The salads we had were very nice, artfully presented, and quite good. Our waiter was very attentive. The decor is beautiful.
Eclectic. Fun! Great ambience and menu. Plating is top notice and the taste of the food magnificent!
The Covenant is an attractive restaurant that is lively. They have a great selection on the menu where everything is cooked in their 900° oven which is a very healthy way using less butters and oils.... Nice presentation of food. Comfortable seating too!
The food and cocktails at The Covenant are excellent. Also, they create an open-air dining experience by opening windows adjacent to some of the booths - it adds a nice touch. Wait staff are attentive - drinks can be delayed when the bar is crowded. Noise levels are above average and tables are close - so you don't have an intimate setting. Nevertheless, it's a great dining experience for a nice dinner out.
Good service good food. Will be back . thanks!
Thank you so much for the great review! We hope to see you again soon!
Great food. Interesting cocktails. Attentive service
Thank you for the great review! We hope to see you again soon when we release our new cocktail menu!
We were seated right away. Our server was great.
Thank you so much for the great review! We hope to see you again soon!
We had a wonderful dinner. Service was great. Thought the single glass wine prices were high. Will be back!!
Poor service from the moment we were seated and the restaurant was NOT busy at the time were there. Took forever for each course. Lamp and salt and pepper shakers on the table were dirty, Food was only a bit above average in taste and quality. Food is over priced.
We went for Restaurant Week as we eat out frequently and like to try new places. It was not a good experience and we would not return. Phoenix has many better restaurants.
We decided to try The Covenant during Restaurant Week--it was Fabulous! The scallop and roasted beet appetizer was beautifully presented and amazing! The brussels sprouts with andouille sausage were delicious as well. The Korean short ribs were enjoyable but the garlic green beans were the star for me on my entree. For dessert, we tried the berry crostata which was nice but I highly recommend the Lemon Meringue Martini--super tasty! The service was great and the ambiance and decor is lovely. Can't wait to go back!
First time there. Good looking place we waited a couple minutes for a host to greet us, we were just standing there. We were promptly seated as we a reservation. Our server greeted us maybe a minute or two later. She wanted to take a drink order but we were still looking at drink menu never being there. She returned gave her our drink order and wanted a food order. We were there for the Arizona restaurant week menu , but she never gave us info on anything that might grab our attention. First course came out both were very good. Main came out also very good my wine showed up after a couple of minutes. That was actually dropped by our server. She asked how our meals were. Finished main , food runner I assume cleared table , server came by few minutes later as we wanted to wait till after to decide on desert. I ordered lemon meringue martini apple crostata and Coventant coffee . Got coffee couple minutes later got the crostata then came martini. Only seen our server a couple of times during the course of our visit. The other server in the section was hands on all of his tables bringing out all of their dishes. Food again was very good!
