The Covenant Restaurant
The food and cocktails at The Covenant are excellent. Also, they create an open-air dining experience by opening windows adjacent to some of the booths - it adds a nice touch. Wait staff are attentive - drinks can be delayed when the bar is crowded. Noise levels are above average and tables are close - so you don't have an intimate setting. Nevertheless, it's a great dining experience for a nice dinner out.
Good service good food. Will be back . thanks!
Thank you so much for the great review! We hope to see you again soon!
Great food. Interesting cocktails. Attentive service
Thank you for the great review! We hope to see you again soon when we release our new cocktail menu!
We were seated right away. Our server was great.
Thank you so much for the great review! We hope to see you again soon!
We had a wonderful dinner. Service was great. Thought the single glass wine prices were high. Will be back!!
Poor service from the moment we were seated and the restaurant was NOT busy at the time were there. Took forever for each course. Lamp and salt and pepper shakers on the table were dirty, Food was only a bit above average in taste and quality. Food is over priced.
We went for Restaurant Week as we eat out frequently and like to try new places. It was not a good experience and we would not return. Phoenix has many better restaurants.
We decided to try The Covenant during Restaurant Week--it was Fabulous! The scallop and roasted beet appetizer was beautifully presented and amazing! The brussels sprouts with andouille sausage were delicious as well. The Korean short ribs were enjoyable but the garlic green beans were the star for me on my entree. For dessert, we tried the berry crostata which was nice but I highly recommend the Lemon Meringue Martini--super tasty! The service was great and the ambiance and decor is lovely. Can't wait to go back!
First time there. Good looking place we waited a couple minutes for a host to greet us, we were just standing there. We were promptly seated as we a reservation. Our server greeted us maybe a minute or two later. She wanted to take a drink order but we were still looking at drink menu never being there. She returned gave her our drink order and wanted a food order. We were there for the Arizona restaurant week menu , but she never gave us info on anything that might grab our attention. First course came out both were very good. Main came out also very good my wine showed up after a couple of minutes. That was actually dropped by our server. She asked how our meals were. Finished main , food runner I assume cleared table , server came by few minutes later as we wanted to wait till after to decide on desert. I ordered lemon meringue martini apple crostata and Coventant coffee . Got coffee couple minutes later got the crostata then came martini. Only seen our server a couple of times during the course of our visit. The other server in the section was hands on all of his tables bringing out all of their dishes. Food again was very good!
Cool ambiance and good food. We had the Shrimp and Grits and Beef Ravioli which were both very good. The restaurant was very busy and Service was slow and not very friendly. Might try their Happy Hour next time.
Food is quite delicious, but no patio, and parking can be a challenge.
Great place to celebrate my husband's birthday and take advantage of Restaurant week! Definitely going back!
We went for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed the overall experience. Our waitress, Rachel, was fantastic. Appetizers, scallops and ceviche were very good as was the shrimp with cheesy grits. We also ordered Korean short ribs and unfortunately the meat wasn't good. Very fatty and grisly and not edible but the presentation and the rest of the dish were good. We will definitely give this place a second chance.
Server did not smile, did not refill the water forgot to replace utensils after appetizers. Had to go and ask the bar for clean utensils.
We’ve been here twice and the food is always incredible! I only gave service 4 stars this time because our server was just okay and the hostess ease dropped on our conversations most of our meal. Other than that this restaurant is on our list of favorites!
My only dissatisfaction was that I had to send my food back three times because the noodles were very cool each time. The waiter was very apologetic. The service was great. After my food finally arrived for the third. was very good. The company that I dine with stated the food was outstanding.
Nice atmosphere, food was good, not stellar. Service was great.
We went earlier, 5 pm and beat the rush. Sat our party of 8 immediately. The cocktails are very unique and yum! We were there during restaurant week and ordered off the prie-fix menu. I had Brussels Sprouts with sausage for my appetizer. Those were amazing! So good! Short ribs and Fried Rice was the main course I chose. That was pretty good. I wasnt as impressed with fried rice but over all it was good. There were two other dishes I was tempted to order so Id like to go back and try them as well. For dessert I had a berry tart of some sort. I forgot what it was calld, but that was amazing!
The time I came before with my husband we both loved our meals that night too! Overall, we are impressed with this place and will be back!
We tried The Covenant the first night of Arizona restaurant week. Parking is limited so expect to park away from the restaurant. It was very noisy the night we went making it difficult to have a conversation. Our reservation was for 7:30 but the place was packed. After 10 minutes of waiting for a table we decided to sit at the bar. The service was good but they were already out of the Korean short ribs that was on the restaurant week menu. We had the sea stack & meatballs for the appetizer along with beef braised raviolis & shrimp & grits for the main course. The dishes were ok, nothing memorable. I'd go back maybe to check out happy hour since they have a great wine & cocktail menu.
We went to enjoy the Az Restaurant Week menu. Everything we tried was delicious, creative and filling! A terrific deal for $33 each.
Thanks to our server Karissa for a delightful evening!
Had dinner at The Covenant during restaurant week. Service very good.
3 course meal $33. The appetizer which consisted of 3 scallops, beets with goat cheese and lemon dressed arugula was outstanding. My friend enjoyed her half roasted chicken. I found the short ribs thin, dry and tasteless. The fried rice nothing special and also dry. The dessert fruit crostata was buttery and enjoyable.
Overall worthy of a return visit
It was great!
We requested a booth and we got offered 2 seats at the bar. My husband and I are out on our date night and we get offered the bar??? Crazy. They then offered us 2 seats beside the bar, meanwhile there were open booths available. We won’t be going back for a while if we ever go back.
Excellent food and drinks. Great service and atmosphere! Will definitely return!
Love The Covenant for lunch, happy hour, and dinner. The food is creative and fresh. Wine list and wine cellar are amazing. Well-managed, happy servers, nice big booths for extra room. Very convenient location.
The experience was great. Morgan was our waitress and was in training but all of our needs were met. The food was great and the unlimited mimosas were an added plus.
Hi Terrance! Thank you for the review! Our bottomless champagne is a crowd fav & we're happ to know our trainees are doing a great job! We hope to see you back soon!
The atmosphere and food is amazing. Great selection on the menu and the 1/2 off bottles of wine with a main meal is great. A definite must try.
Matt-- we're stoked you got the chance to take advantage of the wine deal! It's available Monday-Friday, hope to see you back again soon! Cheers!
I really like this restaurant. Love the hummus board and the poke. I have been there a of times
Everything was great, including our server. Menu very creative. Not cheap however, especially appetizers which are priced like entrees.
My friend and I loved it! We went for Sunday brunch, which was filling up fast so I would recommend reservations if you have a large party. The food and atmosphere were both amazing. I can’t wait to come back!
Food was good but a bit overpriced for what it is. Portions were good as well. Selection is fair. We will go back but it’s not a place we would crave.
Good food and service
Great place to dine
Food was excellent
Service was outstanding
Will be back again soon
Excellent service, delicious food, great variety of beers and wines. Charred octopus appetizer was especially outstanding. Highly recommended.
The charcuterie board was a strange hodgepodge of flavors that didn’t really compliment each other. The pita served with the board had no flavor and really needed warming or even toasting a bit.
The ahi salad had 4 very small pieces of tuna. Definitely not a protein portion for a meal. My wife who eats like a bird anyway, was still hungry after.
The salmon was fantastic with an amazing crust. The roasted veg were very nearly the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It was a wonderful mix of small carrots, multicolored cauliflower, radishes, and white asparagus.
The scallops were a winner as well but the polenta next to them was lifeless, like a soggy piece of toast.
All in all, I may go back but I’d love to see more character development in the $20 charcuterie board.
Service was horrible, food mediocre, won’t be going back.
The food and ambience here are both AMAZING!!! But if you are looking for stellar service I would say skip the reservation and just try to find a seat at the bar. Entering the restaurant there was no one there to great me. I think they have the hostess fulfilling multiple jobs because I NEVER saw her at the door to greet customers. I had a reservation for 1:30p and arrived at 1:35p and they had to find a table to clean for me in a half empty restaurant. It took five minutes for a waitress to come to our table and take our drink orders. Soon after that we ordered our food. Somehow, some way we received our food BEFORE we received our drinks. The food was EXCEPTIONAL you just don’t get a lot of it for how much you pay. We had to ask
One of the Busboys for our check and had to pay the bill to a manager that just so happened to walk by. When I told her how displeased I was with the service she seemed less than apologetic. Next time (if there is a next time) I’ll just go to the bar.
Ordered the Avocado Toasts. The avocado was half un-ripe and tasted like wood. The flavors were totally off on this dish and did not compliment or enhance each other.
Very attractive restaurant! Healthy, innovative options.
Our waiter recommended the octopus appetizer. It was fantastic. Our entrees were wonderful as well. We will definitely go back.
