Lovely afternoon tea with for my and my girlfriend. Both tea and snacks were delicious!
A wonderful place to have high tea. The tea (coffee) selection was great and the sweet nd savory food exceeded our expectations. Our second visit and it will not be our last.
The tea was very nice and I would go back; however, the service could have been better. We had to wait in a line from the map tea room that ran out into the hallway, and it wasn't clear that we were to go to the map room in the first place. My aunt and I were the very last served our tea and food. All of the food was delicious. The sandwiches, desserts and scones were excellent, as was the tea. The ambiance was fine, but slightly sterile and the room was on the cool side.
Wonderful experience... simple and elegant!
Definitely will do it again.
Wonderful location and experience. Highly recommend.
Enchanting little place tucked away in the Boston Public Library. The tea was delicious and well curated; I recommend the oolong if you’re in the mood for something rich and floral. Fans of scones and clotted will not be disappointed.
I have been telling all my friends about the Tea Room since I found out about it about 18 months ago and have been back several times 3 or 4 times since always bringing 2 to 3 others with me. I should get commission LOL
Tea with my family was lovely. The quality and freshness of the food is top notch. They offer a varied and fun tea selection, and the ambiance makes it one of the best tea experiences I’ve had (and I try different afternoon teas all over the world!)
Lovely tea, beautiful atmosphere.
Service perfect albeit a bit difficult to understand our server as she spoke quickly in a foreign tongue.
Great tea, pastries, even cocktails.
I really liked the courtyard tea room! The atmosphere was nice and the teas were good. I loved the butternut squash soup. I wish that there were more vegan options for scones and cakes... so far the only afternoon tea place that I’ve been to that has scones and cakes for vegans is The Pump Room in Bath, England and some other places in England. The Courtyard Tea Room gave some sandwiches and a bowl of fruit which was vegan and offered to give extra soup. But hopefully in the future they’ll have some vegan cakes and scones!
Annual event with dear friends. Lovely all around - elegant surroundings, unrushed service, tasty bites and warming tea. Worth the price!
The Courtyard tea room is a favorite of mine. The food is delicious, the staff excellent (shout out to Cindy/Lucinda) and the acoustics of the room are perfect. Lovely experience with very accommodating staff.
We loved tea at the Courtyard, but we made a 1pm reservation and definitely felt rushed. It was a Sunday so the whole library didn't open until 1, and by the time we got to our table it was 1:15 or later. Then the server kept reminding us we had to be out by 2:30. I think on Sundays they should adjust their reservation times a bit later so people aren't rushed out like we were.
The service was good but very slow - took about 40 minutes to order and get tea (food took closer to 50 minutes). The kids menu isn't really for kids - providing just simple options would be appreciated (just ham and cheese without a thick layer of unsalted butter; and kids don't often like oniony chicken salad or cucumber dill sandwiches.) Super loud and hard to carry a conversation. Beautiful space. Not worth the high price - maybe next year.
Mother/ daughter Holiday treat
Lovely atmosphere, great presentation of afternoon tea. The savory plate was particularly good. Nice selection of herbal teas.
It was a great experience but I didn’t think that it would be 60 dollars a person for tea and finger sandwiches we left hungry and had to get more food...
The Courtyard was lovely. The atmosphere was delightful and the food and tea were very good. We had a table overlooking the courtyard..
Simply lovely! Look forward to going back soon. Food was fabulous and service was very friendly.
Handsdown the best food we have tried for high tea. The servers are also fantastic and very friendly. The main negative is their table which has sharp corners at certain spots beneath the table cloth.
Food was excellent and plentiful. My only complaint is that they left the tea leaves in the pot so each successive cup of tea got more and more bitter. hate that. Our server was a very pleasant man but he had a heavy accent and talked to fast for us to understand what he was saying in the noisy room -management should have him speak slower at a higher volume. Just my suggestions to make the experience a totally excellent one. Glad we went and hope to go again.
What a wonderful treat for my mom and I over the holidays.
The setting is beautiful and the food was all delicious and we left feeling full. But, the service was less than stellar, we had to flag down a person to get our water glass refilled. Also, be forewarned that it doesn’t matter when you check in as to when you are seated. You are pre-assigned a table and no matter what you have to wait until that table turns over. It would have been okay if we knew that ahead of time. But we kept watching people who arrived after us get seated with no explanation. We waited 25 minutes to be seated. I prefer the tea at Boston Harbour Hotel.
We have been coming to tea here for at least five years and were astounded by the jump in price this year. Just three years ago, it was $40 for the prefix menu that is now an incredible $60. Granted, the quality of the sandwiches and pastries has greatly improved and they added a “soup” and “salad” course. But this is hardly justification for charging such an amount especially when the soup/salad course is a mere espresso cup filled with soup and a spoonful of salad on the side. You would also expect the service to be top-notch for charging such a price. The service was very friendly but we felt forgotten about after our tea order had been taken and had to seek out service multiple times for things like milk and refills on hot water. Unsure if we will return next year.
What a charming experience! The tea room is beautiful and service is superb.
Wonderful venue for holiday tea
Went for Holiday Tea to celebrate a special birthday. First impression at front desk was we were told we'd be checked in and to return in 15 min. While waiting, got an email that reservation had been cancelled. Rushed back to be told it was accidentally cancelled. Then seated at a very nice table. After reading the menu and settling in, we were told they seated us at the wrong table. Moved to a much less desirable table... uncomfortable bar across my knees and in high traffic area. Then, after leaving, we get a call from the restaurant that we didn't leave a tip, which we did and never would have considered not leaving a tip. Asked them to verify our card number, and they had the wrong person. What an insult to us. Outrageously poor management overall! A huge disappointment on our special day. Can't wait for Taj tea to reopen.
Food is great, very delicate and enjoyable!!!’
Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea at the Courtyard. Delicious food. Elegant surroundings for a special occasion. Worth every penny!
We had an amazing time and A+ service from the hostess to the servers
It was lovely
Went here for the holiday afternoon tea and had a great time! The food is plentiful and well done. Our waitress offered us a chance to try more than one tea after we finished our initial tea pots. My one note is the noise level - it was a bit noisy. I've been to other afternoon teas where people are certainly engaging in conversation, but not quite so loudly. Other than that, I enjoyed everything else and had a wonderful time!
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food/tea. The staff is very friendly, but not as attentive as they could be. No one came back to the table after delivering the food to check on us. We had to flag someone down to get a refill on our water. The same happened on my last visit.
Wonderful high tea luncheon for the holidays or a special occasion! Would recommend.
Such a beautiful venue and the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion! I definitely will be back!
Simply fabulous- hidden jewel
Love this destination for special Tea with friends !
Lovely experience but way too expensive to recommend to anyone!
