First time dining at the Court. The space which used to be Peacock alley has been repurposed and has an elegant, almost Art deco feel with live musicians adding to the ambience. We were offered complimentary champagne when the amazing Eleanor told us there was a slight issue with the kitchen and that the service might be slower than usual. This turned into a second flute of champagne and extra top ups of the wonderful wine pairings with each course that filled any pauses in the service. As we weren't in any rush we just enjoyed relaxing in the space. The food (we had the tasting menu) was good and the last two courses were excellent. Overall we had a wonderful evening and thought it was brilliant value for money (although that may be due to Eleanor and her generosity!)

Booked in advance for an anniversary. Contacted the social media team, who like the servers on the night, were great. The court is a lovely spaces and the food from the a la carte menu was difficult to choose from - it all sounded so good. The servers helped deliver my wife a necklace along with champagne, making the night that little more special. Was delighted with every aspect of the dining experience.

Really disappointed in the new set up. Have been for food several times before and never had a bad experience. Food last night looked beautiful but was stone cold before you were even half way through the meal. Piano and singer were situated right beside the dining area so we couldn’t hear ourselves speak for that. An expensive meal that really wasn’t worth the money. All in all an unforgettable night for all the wrong reasons. Don’t recommend. Won’t be back!

Some things at The Court are spot on, others need a heck of a lot of work. This is my third visit since Peacock Alley became The Court. The first was pretty awful, the second amazing (because I'd complained first time) and Sunday? Well, mediocre. When you hace a menu with three choices, you really don't need to sit and wait for 25 minutes before having to ask staff if you can order. Whether a deliberate tactic or it was genuine, sitting for another 25 minutes with wine (but no food) obviously means you'll be drinking it. Which is why, halfway through our main course ( it arrived around 2:30pm for a 1pm table reservation) our wine was finished. The food was very nice, although I'd suggest putting on the menu that the smoked salmon comes with caviar as it was a waste at our table. We each had a different main, all nice, but way too much chicken and not enough potatoes or vegetables. The make your own Subdae was a nice idea, and the ginger ice cream was spot on, but the toppings were mixed up between the two of us who ordered. We left close to 4pm. If you are in a rush this is not your place. Yes it os nice to have time between courses, but The Court really has to work on getting the times right, between courses rather than people feeling they've been forgotten about. The piano and harp live music was a lovely touch. A wonderful eclectic mix of genres pitched at a perfect volume. I'm really not sure if I'll ho back, I think three chances is enough. It needs to be consistant every single time. Especially in a five star hotel charging over £5 for a coffee! I was a regular guest when this place was Peacock Alley but when the peacock left the wall it serms both the heart of the restaurant, and the service went with it.

A recent Sunday visit to Court by Mark Greenaway delivered a largely elegant and enjoyable experience, underscored by refined cookery, attentive service, and a setting enhanced by the soft strains of live harp and piano. The meal began with a ham hock terrine that was both rustic and refined – flavours were clean, well-balanced, and thoughtfully executed. The Sunday roast showcased a standout centrepiece: a 35-day aged sirloin, cooked with precision and offering far more depth and quality than the cuts typically found on similar menus. The accompanying gravy was rich and full-bodied, while the sides offered plenty to admire – velvety mash, well-seasoned vegetables, and perfectly crisp roast potatoes. Unfortunately, the Yorkshire puddings detracted from the dish. Pre-prepared and reheated, they arrived burnt on two occasions and were ultimately left uneaten – a rare oversight in an otherwise well-composed main. Desserts marked a return to form. The sticky toffee pudding was superbly executed – warm, indulgent, and balanced – and the 16-layer carrot cake, presented in the style of an opera cake, demonstrated finesse and flair. The third offering, a sundae, felt jarringly simplistic and lacked the sophistication expected from such a carefully curated menu. Service throughout was gracious and professional, contributing to an overall atmosphere of calm and sophistication. While a few inconsistencies marred the experience, Court still offers a polished and thoughtfully crafted Sunday lunch, with clear attention to detail and a touch more ambition than many of its peers.

We had a salad lunch and coffee. The staff were very attentive when required and left us to chat otherwise. The Court is quiet and comfortable. A really good experience
