Great spot to sit eat and have a drink. They have an outdoor area and the weather is nice, it’s the perfect spot to relax. Great ambiance and service was excellent.

Had a cocktail and snack at the cottage with someone special and the front courtyard was an ideal setting for this lunchtime treat. Food is different and excellent as are the cocktails and drinks. Good work guys. I’ll be back

The food was average. They used frozen calamari which lacks texture and taste. The battered fish was too soft (possibly frozen food again?).

I don’t like thin chips and they don’t taste great. The rum steak was good but not worth the price.

Drinks were overpriced. Nothing special with them too.

The only good food was the Damon pizza (the one with ham and pear). I will not recommend this place for dinner unless you are here for the vibe, some light snacks and a drink.

Great little restaurant in a lovely spot in Balmain. Recommended for tourists, dates and small groups. Beautiful food and well curated wine list as well.

Service staff are excellent and attentive, food is outstanding with good serving proportion, wine list offers a good selection and ambience is quaint and charming. It always feels like a good night out when dining at The Cottage.

Why did you get rid of your only vegan main? I am a local and I like the Cottage. I don’t always want to eat chips and salad. Can’t you make some of your other things vegan eg put vegan cheese on the pizza?

Such a great place. The service, the ambience and the food were all excellent. Best aranchini balls ever, the barramundi was super yummy and the cocktails too. The staff were super attentive and friendly and as soon as there was a an outdoir table available they let us move. What a great evening. Thank you so much.

$1 oysters every Friday!! To die for!! Good choice of food and drinks. Reasonable prices! Only draw back if you need an outside table because you have a pet. You can’t book one. First in best dressed. Apart from that, it’s a great little find.

I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday at The Cottage with a small number of friends. The cocktails were nice, but unfortunately our food arrived cold or barely warm. My friends who ordered the pasta were very disappointed at both the cool temperature and the small portion size (especially for what you pay for!). My pizza wasn't very warm, it was okay, but for the price and the venue I expected more. The service was very poor. Twice when ordering drinks, our waiter had to come back to double check what we ordered. Another time we asked for the waiter to come back in 1 minute, after we had finished deciding on the next round of drinks, and 20 minutes later we were still waiting. We found it very hard to get the waiters attention. This was all such a shame, because I had much fonder memories of this restaurant in previous years.

Lovely restaurant with beautiful food. Loved the little cottage setting with a lot of character. The service was great and very attentive. The barrumundi was delicious along with the brussel sprouts and cauliflower. I had the lemon meringue tart which was also delicious. Will be back in the very near future, this time for dinner !

Nice space in the garden but service was slow and not attentive at all. Seemed all waitstaff were trainees. Disappointing

Overall a really pleasant evening. The food was delicious. The barramundi was yummy and the cauliflower and Brussel sprouts very tasty. There was a couple of things that could have been done better. A long wait between starter and mains. A couple of items forgotten. Very small portion of kids ice cream for price. That aside we really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go again.

what a lovely venue. The atmosphere is magical, all the fairy lights, sitting in the garden on a balmy night was just what the doctor ordered. We felt relaxed after a long week. The staff are efficient without being pushy, and they are friendly. The food is superb, great menu and great wine list. Ill definitely be back, thankyou
