The Corner Room
We are never disappointed when we come here for dinner! The staff is always very friendly, the food is always spectacular, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Always a great experience!
Great place for Italian. Best house-made pasta in Portland, highly recommend.
A family favorite restaurant , great cocktails like espresso martini , appetizers like the Crispelle , & pan roasted olives ,roast duck with Brussels& roasted carrots & my wife had an Italian seafood stew that was grand .
We were seated immediately for our reservation and then proceeded to wait, and wait ... and wait for service . A clue should have been the table next to us that resorted to going to the bar themselves for drinks . A gentlemen finally came to our table with water but never introduced himself and did not take drink orders until we finally asked him if he could . The rest of the evening proceeded in the same manner but our food was actually quite good. I need to add this evening occurred a month ago prior to the recent COVID-19 situation for which I feel extremely sympathetic to the entire restaurant industry and we would absolutely return to The Corner Room in the future
It was my first time there. Good selection on the menu. The chocolate mousse was a little dense; but tasted good.
Amazing as always!
We got great service. I like the open kitchen part of the Corner room. It is a great entertainment. We ate bolognese pasta and seafood pasta (tomatoes base sauce) it was delicious. The Tiramisu was excellent.
We love going there.
I strongly recommend the Corner room. Good Italian food.
Amazing experience per usual, and great food.
We had a waitress who was in training. She did an excellent job. We had a lovely meal. I had the chicken sandwich which could have used a little more seasoning, but was still delicious.
Great brunch spot before the Pops. Eggs Benedict, French toast, pancakes, Bloody Mary's and Mimosas all delicious. Good wait staff.
Wonderful experience. Food was amazing and service was fantastic! Worth every penny !
Doug the waiter was very abrupt. If you can get past that and stay away from altering your meal at all, the food was excellent. He had an attitude right when we sat down doesn’t seem to want to engage with the customers. Food excellent, service snobby.
We eat there every time we are in Portland and they never disappoint.
My husband was not impressed it took the cook 3 times to know how to cook his chicken parmesan.
Our waitress (older woman)was absolutely one of the least helpful I’ve ever had.
Everything was painful, and awkward with her. Definitely wouldn’t return cause of her. Food was good but she left a bad taste in our mouths.
Late valentines day date, been here multiple times before but always got the fettuccine bolognese. That is fantastic, but tried the chicken parm, and that was pretty terrible. Most things are the menu are outstanding, but the chicken parm was pretty amateur at best. Breading came off immediately, the chicken itself wasnt good, but my girlfriend got the fettuccine bolognese like i usually get and that is great! Just be aware some meals arent that good while others are some of the best in town
The food is delicious! There was some confusion in the kitchen with part of our order so some of our food was a little delayed. The staff could not have been more considerate, and even took the two delayed items off of our bill. I am so impressed with their high level of customer service! This was my second time dining here and will certainly be back.
We had to wait 20 minutes even though we’d made reservations weeks ago. And though there were bread plates on the table, no bread was ever brought out. The food we ordered was not as described on the menu (“cream sauce” was just oily pasta), and it was SO bland. If a restaurant isn’t going to put salt and pepper on the table, then the food is expected to be flavorful. Waitstaff was friendly, cocktails were good but that was about it.
Place was great. Very good food and service.
The place was empty and we got there ten minutes before our reservation and the hostess wouldn’t seat us. We stood there awkwardly and a little annoyed. There was literally three other parties seated in the dining area. Tried to order a drink at the bar and we didn’ t exist I. The bartenders world bartender. When we got seated at our reservation “time” our waitress rushed us out the door through every interaction. Very disappointed as it was Valentine’s Day and wanted to enjoy our evening out. We got an app, salad and two entrees and the app and my entree was luke warm at best. Overwhelmingly a disappointment!
Excellent food and nice atmosphere.
Breakfast panini was amazing. Little cold sitting by the window currently due to construction. Coconut mimosa was also great.
Our server was phenomenal! He was extremely attentive and very friendly. We were seated near the door which is unfortunately very chilly during the winter months, but nothing that would deter me from dining here again ( just make sure to wear your finest sweater)!
Thank you for making my sisters birthday dinner one to remember!
Corner Room was recommended to us by a friend who is a long time resident as her favorite Italian restaurant. There are so many fine choices. We were not disappointed. The hostess was very welcoming. The waiter was very attentive and the perfect friendly, close by but not intrusive. The garlic bread was superb as were our means, bolognese and Chicken Parm. We’ll look forward to a return trip.
Just a fun night at your restaurant. Dinner and service was fabulous. The cocktails were great as well. Just wish we hadn’t been seated near some of the construction that you had going on. But overall great night.
Service at bar was very friendly and quick; hosting staff very pleasant and attentive; server was knowledgeable, positive/ encouraging of our food food was really well prepared and plated, served very hot, and tasted great. Wine selection very interesting and well priced. Thank you!
Normally a full 5 stars across the board. Only reason I didn't do it this time was that there was construction going on in the restaurant and instead of pulling a couple of tables to accommodate the construction they just moved tables uncomfortably close to each other. Every time someone got up from the tables adjacent to me their back sides were rubbing against my table tipping the table from both sides.
Service and food were amazing. Did not know the restaurant was undergoing a major renovation when we made our reservation. Plywood walls and plastic in the dining room isn’t my favorite anniversary vibe but the staff made up for it. Steak was cooked perfectly and the waiter suggestions were right in point. Will try again when they finish the construction.
The food and service are always good here. They make their own pasta and have a variety of items on the menu that include traditional Italian fare as well as fish and vegetarian options. The restaurant is quite noisy but that is par for the course in Portland.
Always delicious!
Pre symphony dinner. Efficient, wonderful waiter!
We have gone to The Corner Room many times, but found a few things not up to their standard. The surface of the half wall was tacky from grease residue, which prompted us to look at the space a little closer, I think the restaurant is need of a good cleaning.
The brussels sprouts were unusually oily and the proscuitto, which was supposed to be crispy was overcooked and very hard and we couldn't taste the sherry mustard vinaigrette. The chicken parmigano and bolognese dishes were very good, the tomato sauce was well balanced and very fresh tasting. Even with these areas not being up to par, I wouldn't stay away from this well established eatery as this is the first time we have experience these situations.
They are currently under construction, but that did not take too much away from the ambiance the restaurant has. Service was absolutely amazing! Food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
I had a great meal and experience, they seem to make all the bread in house and it was fantastic! I love open kitchens and they had 2 - the menu has good variety and the service was friendly. We tried the eggs benedict (doesnt' come with homefries fyi) and a panini (came with a tasty side salad) Def worth a try and hope you enjoy!
Food and service were decent, but the place was under renovation the tables were super close together and it was freezing in there !
The restaurant is doing the best it can maintaining a nice ambiance even though an entire was of windows is currently plywood. It was a really cold night and they had the heat cranked up, but my toes were still cold. All that said, the food was good and the service was good and we all enjoyed our meals.
The food is always fantastic. There are renovations of windows at present so there is scaffolding and wood. The one window area not being renovated is quite cold. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious as always. Go for a great meal, but you might need to wear your coat.
Delicious. Great hand made pasta and cocktails
My wife and I were well fed and well cared for. The special pork chop dish was generous and delicious. The scallop dish was superb. The staff was amazing. Portland ME is a top-tier city for restaurants and the Corner Room is a top-tier restaurant!
Very good food and service was outstanding. We enjoyed the garlic bread, chopped saled, brussel sprouts, arugula and prosciutto flatbread and tiramiso. All was delicious. server was very attentive.
