Fun, laid back atmosphere with plenty of choices in food and drink equally. The addition of a board game library is a big hit with patrons who have a few people in their party. Overall a fun experience and I would definitely come back.

First time at the Corner. I had heard about the Axe bar and was excited to see it first hand. It was a friday night so it was busy and quite a wait. However I had/was able to make dinner reservations online which was nice. I definitely plan on coming back on a weeknight when slower to enjoy some board games.

Went with family and friends. Service was great. Food was very nice, I am a vegetarian and they have a good black bean burger. Something for everyone. IPA's Ciders and Budweiser- something for everyone. All kinds of games and Upstairs you can throw axes . What more could you ask for.

Awesome food, large portions..enough to share, great revive of this location! We went as a family with our 12 & 14 yr olds and they loved being able to pick out a board game to play at the table! Our server was awesome he made great suggestions and provided wonderful service! Will definitely return!

Surprised at how good the food was. Fun hang out, plenty of choices of board games etc. to play at your table or in the game area. A lot of fun, great atmosphere, I highly recommend this.

The Corner is so much fun! We went for dinner and a quick game of cards and ended up staying three hours. If you don't know about the Corner Grill it is a restaurant with excellent food but it is also a bar with tons of games. There are at least 50 different board games and other games to choose from and a person that helps you select the right game for your group. Every table had people playing games (no one on their cell phones)! Plan to make this a regular hangout.

The service was great, as were the burgers and fries. The key is the atmosphere. They provide a library of board games and there is an axe throwing facility upstairs. The restaurant was filled with folks relaxing together and having fun. Amazing place to hang out and enjoy time with friends.

Our server was phenomenal. Never had an empty glass and we had a party of 7. Food was pretty good. I ordered the French dip and my bun was burned but I still ate it and it was good. Mac n cheese was a definite order. I hope they expand their wine selection. Definitely get the cinnamon sugar doughnuts!!!

The restaurant is labeled as “kid friendly” however there is no kids menu. No big deal, my daughter and I shared the Mac n Cheese. Our waitress was terrible. The Mac n Cheese came in a little cast iron bowl that was extremely and borderline dangerously hot. I feel like most wait staff would warn you of that- ESPECIALLY with a baby at the table. I burned myself on it which is not that big of a deal but had my daughter burned herself I would have been quite upset that I wasn’t told how HOT it really was. Overall it wasn’t the best experience but I do feel that it may have been different had we had a different waitress. It was a really cool place- people playing board games at the bar, it would have been really fun if we were there to strictly play games and drink, probably wouldn’t recommend if you’re trying to have a nice dinner.

Service gets 4 stars for our server Eric who was energetic and helpful and for the quickness of getting our order - would have been 5 had the hostess had it together- reservations highly recommended so you don’t have to wait for anything except the hostess- expensive, my husband got the rainbow trout for $18 and it should have been $12 - they could have more vegan options if they got creative as all there is to choose from is one soup and two veggie sides- cloth napkins nice touch

I wish the menu was slightly bigger and more diverse. Steak came with only the stake and a potato. Needed a veggie or salad as well. Too loud. Install Baffels.

Quirky eclectic casual hipster restaurant with attractive fireplace for hanging out and vintage board for passing the time and decor. Casual fare. Loved it for a casual evening. Setting brings the outdoors in.

A very lively, rustic atmosphere complete with board games and axe throwing. It was a date night and I order the chicken sandwich, which was more like an appetizer than an entree (and I’m a small gal). My boyfriend ordered the black bean burger and said the taste was overwhelming. I did however love how fast we received our food. Things are done by IPad and our food came out less than 15 minutes on a Saturday night. We even paid at our table instead waiting for a bill then the card to come back. Overall, we will comeback but maybe order different meals.

First time eating at what used to be Local Restaurant. Very disappointed. Waited 10-15min to be approached by waitstaff who offered to bring us water until our “real” waiter could be found. We asked her to be our “real” waitperson and she olbliged. While she was very friendly and attentive the food and drink were very diappointing. My mixed drink was so weak I should have just ordered a soda water! My husbands scotch was a generous pour though. Food was beyond disappointing with an extremely fatty french dip and greasy ff. Sandwich with ff, fish with a couple potatoes (no veg) and 2 drinks $98 (with tip). I think this place could be fun for a young group or family with kids wanting to play games if they improve the menu. I will not return.

Environment is fun and lively. My boyfriend and I met up with another couple here for New Years Eve. Drinks were well made and food was tasty! Our waitress wasn't the friendliest but nothing bad. After dinner we sat at the bar and played some board games while waiting to do a walk-in upstairs at Detroit Axe. It worked out great and everyone enjoyed themselves. Definitely something different and fun. If you plan to do Detroit Axe I would recommend calling ahead of time and reserving time.

Wanted to try this place out because of what it had to offer from board games, to Ax throwing, to a nice cozy fireplace. Worth the try the food was pretty good, wish they had more of a menu, and board games aren't allowed in the dining are before 9 PM and you need a large group for Ax throwing which can be costly at $40 a person but other than that the place had over 800 games to choose from and had a very cozy and fun energy

The Corner has great potential, but fails on quality. Drinks are good, and priced right. We were there at 8 pm, and the place was packed, with lots of people doing the axe throwing. The axe throwing is not cheap, $20/hr, per person. There are a ton of board games on the wall, however they don't allow the games in the dining area at certain times, and it was impossible to find a spot in the bar area. The food was very disappointing, the hamburger tasted like a frozen patty from a grocery store. We also had the shrimp appetizer, very bland. The wait staff was friendly, and I appreciated the fact the wait staff have the portable credit card pay system. (Canada has been doing this for years, glad to see US restaurants catching on)

Had a great time ! We loved all the food especially the Mac and cheese. We tried almost everything on the menu and split between 6 of us and had a few drinks and it was very reasonable and enjoyable. We played sorry while waiting for our entire party to arrive . Wanted to try the axe throwing after dinner but to long a wait . Will definitely go back .
