The Cork & Bottle - Paddington
Ambiance is just right usually but marked down as it was a little empty on this visit so lacked atmosphere.
Great place. Well worth a visit. Top food and wine
Good food and wine. Fantastic choice of cheese. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a lovely unrushed evening.
Food was ok!.Nothing to write home about, portions were small,Desserts and puddings expensively priced.
Some options not available.
Service was good though.
Warm welcome, good food cooked fresh, good price, beer on tap, great wines, excellent service, near Paddington Station so a great find. Good attentive staff.
Very nice atmosphere, nice background music, realy good wine and friendly staff. I’ll definitely come again.
The ambiance is wonderful and it feels comfortable and they make you feel welcome.
Had a nice meal here before catching the train at Paddington
Really nice experience at the Cork & Bottle for a business meeting with clients. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was scrumptious - most of us had Soup of the Day followed by a Salmon main. Wine was also delicious and there was plenty of choice.
I marked this was a business lunch on my booking so generally you have an hour; we waited nearly 40mins to get our food. The place was empty as well so unsure why the food took so long. Food was good and waitress friendly but there was no apology for the long wait which was disappointing.
Excellent Sunday roast beef; best Yorkshire puddings I've had for a long time; gravy not bad either!
Nice restaurant with good food, nothing fancy but good value and quick service
Surprisingly pleasant, quiet, professional and quaint in an area with a lot of chain places and rubbish nearby for tourists at Paddington!
Would go back
Loved the feel and the wine and food selection was perfect for both locals and visitors
The waiting staff and kitchen manager were particularly helpful with our table as we had 2 guests with food allergies. I would like to thank them again for the care they took to make sure the meal was safe.
I chose this as I was meeting a colleague and Paddington was convenient for us both. We weren’t disappointed - both the atmosphere and the food were good.
Good meal and service. We were given a quiet corner for a business meal. However, the restaurant was almost empty. Value was reasonable, although wines are pricey - I am used to the suburbs nit central London.
The Sunday Roast dinner was excellent. The roast was tender, the Yorkshire pudding delicious and the veggies and roast potatoes superb.....the service however was not as good. The bread (supposed to be warm and our server apologized that it arrived with our meal because it took longer to warm up than expected - it was cold) was to be a starter but wasn't, the table was dreadfully small and couldn't accommodate a wine bottle, dishes and glasses for water so some were perched next to me on the bench seat. We waited almost 30 minutes for our bill and it appeared that though they tried to do their best, it was junior wait staff tending the restaurant on a Sunday evening...and it was getting busier as we were leaving.
Always friendly staff.
Relaxed meal with good service and reasonable menu accompanied by good wine and drinks selection
Excellent location and the steak was of high quality and a great price.
The pudding (c&b mess) was very good.
Decent venue for an after-work pint. However, we wanted dinner and to talk. Unfortunately, the place was so noisy that we had to abort and find somewhere else. The staff were good about it, though. In reality, this is a pub for drinking, not sitting down for food.
Very good food, nice people but best of all an outstanding wine list. Will definitely be back.
Useful venue near Paddington Station which otherwise is not noted for culinary delights. This place is a cross between a wine bar and a casual restaurant. Inside the semi-rustic setting, there are a few "snugs" so quite good for couple-type lunches. Service was relaxed but quite attentive. We enjoyed the red wine (15 degree alcohol) though I found the dishes a mite disappointing (my friend liked them). I think we would go again, and mainly for thw wine rather than for the food.
Easy simple bistro meal
Was nice for a quick dinner w my wife. There was a large group there as well, who seemed to be having a great time. Staff were friendly, seemed to have good drink list.
Nice casual atmosphere hugely extensive wine list and nice options on the food menu.
Slight down if i am being picky was there’s not really any beer and lager options for the non wine drinkers.
Me and my partner thougherly enjoy the evening we would recommend 😀
Really amazing wine menu, and not too expensive considering. Cheese was delicious and really varied choice, and the small plates were delicious. Will go back.
Really enjoyable evening with friends. Great service, great wine list, great food and a nice ambiance. Thank you!
Very handy for proximity to Paddington station. Friendly staff.
We needed somewhere close to Paddington to meet our daughters to celebrate my birthday. We enjoyed a very good bottle of champagne with some sharing platters for lunch at The Cork and Bottle and it was excellent. Friendly service and well presented food in a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely go there again.
Still unknown in the area so ambience not quite there yet. However it deserves to be popular. There’s nothing of this quality and authenticity nearby. This was my third visit. The food is good quality with both classics and imaginative specials. Great staff who genuinely care but don’t over do it.
We were running late so rang ahead to let them know and it wasn't an issue to hold our table. The food was fantastic and so was the wine! Decor was lovely and ambience, perfect! Food prices are really reasonable, the wine a bit more on the expensive side but it's the speciality! Would definitely recommend!
Great place, good private seating but still involved in the bar/restaurant area. Cosy, but space - good food and wine. Great for a business lunch but also a nice place to meet friends.
We booked early evening, and as a result the restaurant was nearly empty. Probably a little livelier later. Food was good, and well priced. Main gripe was that the table was really too small for a party of 4. If we had had one more side dish it would really have been very awkward.
We found this beautiful restaurant whilst looking for a last minute reservation before the fireworks on NYE. The staff we so friendly and helpful and the restaurant decor was stunning. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable. We will be back next year when we return to London!
As always, prompt , knowledgeable service and excellent range of wines by the glass as well as bottle. Very decent food - the hokey pokey icè cream in particular was terrific.
Unexpectedly high standard of food, service and ambience and so near Paddington station. Great place.
Lovely restaurant and wine bar with very knowledgeable staff in regards to the wine list. We both ordered the gnocchi from the large plates, which was really delicious and great value for money. We also ordered the sharing dessert board which came with two coffees, again very delicious. It was just a shame that we were too full and couldn’t finish it!
We will definitely be returning in the future.
