The Cork 1794
We were in town for my daughter's White Coat Ceremony with Lecom and The Cork 1794 was the perfect
place to celebrated my daughter's day.
Next time we are in town we will have to come back.
Our server was excellent and the swordfish and filet was superb
We are visiting my sister and her husband from California. She called ahead to the restaurant to say she had some special guests coming. Upon arrival they comped us two delicious appetizers! Our server Ken was excellent. We all loved all of our food it was delicious. Two of us had Osso Buco which was so tender and good. I had scallops and my brother-in-law had a steak. We had a very special evening and enjoyed the restaurant very much
We had a reservation for 7pm waited 15 minutes to get a beverage! No one in site for service! Our waiter then showed up and apologized gave us a free appetizer which was ok, my meal was good but we waited over 45-50 min for it! Expected much much better! The meal was warm not hot, I had the scallops! My husband had steak and the bread pudding with it which was in a square and not very warm at all! Def disappointing!!!
Absolutely loved the trendy atmosphere! Great food! Great service!
First time dining at The Cork.
Our Host and Waitress Maggie were very attentive and wonderful!
The food was delicious - pork chop and Salmon and had the featured soup Chicken cordon Blu.
The beer and wine selections were outstanding !
We will definitely be back!
Service was friendly and prompt. Crab cakes were awesome with lots of crab, but the Honey Bee dessert was highlight of the evening.
We really wanted to like this place, but the food was simply not very memorable, particularly at the high price point. My filet au poivre was tender cut of meat, but incredibly salty and with a pepper sauce that lacked any kind of flavor beyond salty stock base. At $36 I was hoping for more. My wife's scallop dish wasn't bad, but over-sauced. The dinner rolls were these dense, flavorless bombs of dough. The hatch dip was fine, though we were both hoping for a bubbling queso type thing instead of the hummus-like textured dip that arrived instead. Service was abysmal, so to make up for it they comped one of our deserts and coffees, which was a nice touch. Deserts again were ok but not particularly memorable (although reasonably priced). We probably won't be back.
Excellent food the Honey Bee dessert was delicious
I can never say enough amazing things about the wonderful Cork, we went for lunch this Saturday and everything was spectacular from the food to the staff to the beautiful ambiance! I love The Cork so much I’ve been to the Cork about a 12-15 times since they opened in November and this was our 4 weekend in a row! They are hands down the best restaurant in Erie by a lot! They are THE ONLY RESTAURANT that details and is informative on gluten free allergy! They know the allergy, they list numerous gluten free options right on the menu but most importantly the staff understands the allergy to perfection!!! I LOVE the Cork burger on their gluten free bun, best burger in Erie!!! The Filet Mignon served at dinner is the best meal you could ever have in Erie, the best filet Mignon I’ve had anywhere from Erie, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, to Philadelphia The Cork filet mignon is the best out of any restaurant!!! It’s all about the brandy pan sauce perfectly on every filet with a touch of finishing salt to make the filet Mignon the best dish in Erie, PA!! Tammy the manger is so incredibly nice and I really enjoy talking to her. She makes every visit the best!!! The staff is incredible!!! I have 3 favorite servers!!! Ken, Victoria, and Krista!!! We had Victoria today and she is so incredibly nice and just always makes your visit special !!! Chef Joe is the master chef! Can’t not believe Erie is so lucky to finally have a nice restaurant for everything!!!
Wonderful addition to dining in Erie! Food, craft cocktails, and ambiance was great! We sat near the kitchen so a little loud but our party of three carried on conversation easily. Food did take a little while but attentive server made up for that. Definitely recommend.
Dessert was beyond phenomenal. Portion size and flavors were excellent. Will be back
The food was fantastic! Little privacy with the tables so close. I’ll be back!!!
The improvement in service and food quality has been excellent compared to my first visit some months ago. I am glad you have tempered the music down to that baby grand -- very nice and soothing. Had a terrific steak -- very impressive.
First the salad came before the appetizer
Then the entire cake before we even started eating the appetizers so we asked for the entire to be returned to come after we ate out salad and appetizer.
The entire was delivered cold. Returned and bright back obviously micro waved and now the meat was tough. Thus should be a dining experience for the price. This was the second time my entire was cold in 2 visits. Maybe ok for cocktails at bar but the restaurant needs help.
We had the steam lobster plater with corn potatoes and two pound lobster a lot of food but not even warm. The drinks were good but I have been at a lot of restaurant around the world I do not mind paying for a good meal . Our meal was not worth the money when you go to a high end restaurant it should be hot .
always enjoy The Cork, especially when outside...so much quieter. Food and service is prime.
The food was excellent and the waiters were very attentive, professional and kind. The music, especially the singer was also very good! My only complaint was the noise! I am glad I was by myself because if I had been with other people I would not have been able to hear them!
Lovely night with friends. Great food and wonderful service.
The bartender made a “Dry Rob Roy” that one of the guests raved about...and apparently only gets made well occasionally. Kudos to the bar staff!
Only our second visit, but Cork still a first-class restaurant that could hold its own in a much bigger market of fine dining places. Service and food were superior. Only disappointment is not serving the filet au poivre in a sizzling cast iron skillet experienced on first visit last December. Memorable dessert of beignets in a paper bag with powdered sugar added at table, then shaken and served. A special occasion location to be certain, but want to return and check out dining on the bar side, which is separated from the main dining room.
We had great food and service. The cioppino was outstanding. The seafood in it was perfectly cooked and fresh and the tomato sauce was delicious. The corn fritters were a nice change from bread. My husband had the NY strip with a savory bread pudding. Both were really good. And my son had the filet which was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere once you are in the restaurant was really nice but unfortunately the strip mall it is going through some change over and constrution. Ignore it - the food is worth it. Also we sat on the patio and it was really nice. We just dropped our son off at PSU Behrend and I’m sure we’ll be back here when we visit him.
The food was fabulous! The service was fine, just a lot of waiting. Beautiful restaurant and lovely table and chairs. We will definitely be back.
Came twice during lobster week- the lobster boil is enough for two but it is FANTASTIC. The bisque I also tried and that was delicious. Sat inside once and outside the other -both great ambiance. Service could be tweaked but it’s not awful.
Waited 20 minutes and still noone came to our table. Had reservations a week ahead of time. Watched two tables that sat down after us get drinks. No organization as to who gets served. Very disappointing. Got up and left. Enjoyed a nice dinner elsewhere. Will not be back since is the second time the service has been poor.
The steak was bland and was not a great cut. The lasagna red sauce was also bland just like the sushi stack.
Really excellent, upscale dining in Erie! Inventive food; thoughtful preparations.
I have had business dinner here twice before and the food and service was excellent so I wanted to bring my family for brunch after church and I was very disappointed with both the service and the food, the waitress (when they finally decided who was going to wait on the table) was aloof and inattentive, my husband and mother in laws eggs were over done, I know that happens so that wasn’t too big an issue, but their sausage and my daughters bacon wasn’t even warm, my roasted tomatoes on the eggs Benedict were also cold. We were told by the waitress that the lemon piccata pancakes were no longer available at noon (brunch is from 10-3) after asking another staff member was told they were just out of blueberries but could substitute strawberries. I will give it another try and do recommend but was very disappointed with brunch which was a special treat for my daughter going away to college.
The breakfast items were fantastic. There were choices available not common to other places in Erie serving breakfast and something for everyone. The music duo was a nice surprise. They sounded great and our party commented on how enjoyable they were to have while eating our breakfast.
Wonderful ambience, service and menu! Loved the bar decor and food was delicious!
I have been to The Cork on multiple occasions since they opened and have not been disappointed to date. The food has been excellent every time as has the service. My only concern is that the number of menu selections is rather small. I hope there are plans for a new menu for the fall.
Enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Cork 1794 this weekend. I had the Cioppino and my husband had the special Ribeye-best dinner EVER! We decided to sit indoors, but the outside terrace was so inviting. This place is our absolute favorite for ambience, culinary excellence and fantastic service! Can't wait to go back again soon!
THE CORK 1794 IS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN ERIE !!! Me and my grandpa enjoyed another superlative dinner at The Cork!! I’m on a gluten free diet and I say every time The Cork is the only restaurant that has so many gluten free options but also knows the allergy and executes properly to ensure everything is in fact gluten free! I always look forward to seeing manger Tammy and talking to her I always enjoy our conversations. She is the star of the restaurant! I been to The Cork numerous times and everything on the menu sounds AMAZING but I’m in love with their Filet Mignon!! They may have to change the name to Cork 1794 steakhouse!!! Chef Joe is a master chef genius that propels perfection out of the kitchen with every plate and the seasoning is always on point. I especially love the touch of finishing salt on top and the sauce on the filet it truly makes it a one of kind experience! I love the famous Butcher and Singer in Philadelphia but The Cork here has them beat thanks to Chef Joe and his incredible cooks!! I always request for Ken as my server!!! He is the definition of perfectionist and a great guy overall. I love seeing all The Cork staff like Krista and Diane. The Cork is like family!!! I don’t know how you can top the best but every time I leave The Cork I say this was the best one EVER!!!! The best filet on the entire east coast and the mashed potatoes are the creamiest and whipped like a fluffy cloud!!! Ken, Chef Joe, Tammy thanks for another out of this world experience!!!!
Great food and great people!!
My wife and I enjoy eating here.
First time to the Cork and went away very pleased. Everything was professional. Food was prepared and very good. Our server was very good,Evan getting us to get the chocolate cake for dessert. Very good!!
Celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday with our daughter!!
The service, ambience and food was wonderful....
They do need to work on the noise level- difficult
To hear across a table.
Great place to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary !
I lowered my service stars because it took some time before my husband and I were served at the bar and there were few people in the entire restaurant. Secondly, after being sat at our table for dinner, 5:00pm reservation, it took 10 minutes before we were even noticed. Food was delicious and temperature of it perfect!
Excellent food, great service! Loved sitting outside, great place for a special dinner.
This restaurant was recommended to us. My spouse and I, along with another couple were celebrating our 29th and 35th wedding anniversaries respectively. We desired a relaxing, yet special evening. We couldn't have been happier! The food was excellent! We each ordered a different item. Each of us tasted a little of everyone's selections. We enjoyed the watermelon salad, the charcuterie board, the lasagna, the halibut (the salmon was unavailable as the supplier was unable to provide it), the crab cakes, and a dinner salad with chicken. The food was fresh and tasty. Despite the fact that the restaurant was full, our server was attentive and appropriately paced our meal to allow the four of us time to celebrate our anniversaries together, talk, and leisurely enjoy our courses. The management offered each of us our choice of a dessert item in honor of our anniversaries. Next time we are in Erie we will definitely plan another visit!
