The Corby Kitchen

Great, open-air type restaurant, located inside the Marriott!
Mercedes was so pleasant and helpful in helping us decide what to have for dinner.
Great place for business lunch. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly.
Great place to celebrate my 10 year work anniversary. Food was amazing and so was the service. Restaurant Manager came out to recognize my milestone which made my experience 10 times better. Thank you!!!
I use to work their 10 years ago, and the food was great... the food is not the same quality and taste. it has really gone down. I was a party of 10 people, and it was disappointing that we did not like the food.
This place is in the North Bethesda Marriott. Like any hotel restaurant prices are a little high. However food is great and well worth price. Waitstaff is efficient, knowledgeable & friendly.
Menu is small but covers everything you could want from soup to salads to burgers & great deserts. There is a complete bar that will make any drink you want.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
It was very loud..ambience-none! The food was ok. We were exhausted when we returned to our room. A restaurant that’s supposed to accommodate conferences really needs to have a larger seating area for guests.
Disappointing. For the ratings and the price I expected it to be more upscale than it was. The service was very good but the food was undercooked and there is no privacy for a birthday celebration. It’s a typical Marriott restaurant. There is nothing special about it.
Overall fair and acceptable if you arrive late and need to get a bite without leaving the hotel. But, I was surprised to see such a poor selection of vegetarian options considering this is a restaurant in a conference hotel.
This is the quiet time of the year for this restaurant subsequently we almost had the restaurant to ourselves (party of 5) Food was nice and the service was excellent. There is a Starbucks basically a few feet from the restaurant so the waitress was kind of enough to get our coffee and we continued sitting at the table.
The food was exceptional, the service was good, but not great, and the noise level was through the roof due to a toddler running around and screaming the entire time. Why do parents bring small children to a fine dining restaurant? It's so selfish and, not to mention, rude.
Brunch was fantastic!
Celebrating our anniversary, great food combined with service made a perfect evening
The food was excellent! I had the soup of the day and was pleasantly surprised by my large and flavorful crab cake sandwich. I went on a Wednesday night and it was quiet and peaceful. It is definitely a must-have if you are in the area.
Food was good but service was slow and inattentive.
This is truly a wonderful place for Mothers Day brunch! My 12 year old son could not stop raving about the wide assortment of food available. He especially loved the chocolate fountain! Our Mothers (including myself), enjoyed the fresh seafood, the prime rib was cooked perfectly and those rock crab claws are to die for!! This is absolutely a home run for the price, the variety, quality and the service was outstanding. Thanks for making this a special Mothers Day for us all!!
Unfortunately the food was pretty bad.
Don't order the steak sandwich. It's inedible and needed to be sent back.
The Crab cakes were lack luster.
I guess they only stay in business because the hotel guests are a captive audience
Our family of five were seated upon arrival and the servers/waiters were very attentive. Though this was a buffet style dinner, the main entrees were not replenished efficiently. The food was lukewarm and you had to wait for dishes. My family and I have eaten here on numerous occasions and this is the first time that I had a subpar experience. Nevertheless, I am thankful for the meal that we received. There are many that go hungry everyday, I won't complain!! Thank you to all the employees who sacrificed time away from their families!
Nicer than most hotel restaurants. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We elected not to eat from the buffet. Food was good.
Small menu, not up to Marriott standards.
Great food...,,service with a smile.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate several small groups from a large seminar do everybody could be served quickly and efficiently- without making the diners feel rushed.
If you miss the crab and brie omelette, it's your own fault. It's delicous
We booked a reservation for a Valentine's Dinner this year. When we arrived at the hotel, we learned this restaurant is the same restaurant where breakfast is served for this hotel. That means the ambiance is not at all soft and romantic. The chairs are vinyl and the whole atmosphere is quite mundane. When we arrived for our 5 pm reservation, we were seated and given the LUNCH menu. Apparently, the kitchen was "overwhelmed" because the hotel was 100% full from a big dance competition and a wedding, so the best they could do was to offer a "limited" menu. My question is, didn't management know months ahead of time about both of these events, and shouldn't they have planned accordingly? By 6:30 we still hadn't gotten our food, So when it did come, it may have been very tasty but we were so angry we couldn't judge it fairly.
I was looking forward to breakfast at the restaurant with my daughters on Thanksgiving. Even though we had restaurant reservations, we were shunted to the bar because the restaurant was being reserved exclusively for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere was less than ideal for the holiday.
The restaurant has a very nice ambience, comfortable seating with lots of space but we were there at 5 pm and the place was almost empty yet we were rushed to order. We ordered drinks and salads yet we were still hurried to order our dinner. I was meeting a long lost relative so needless to say we had lots to say to each other before spending time on the menu. I'm also a vegetarian and there was nothing meatless so I ordered the pasta without sausage but it was so-so. I took a doggie bag but threw it out at home.
This is simply the internal hotel restaurant at a Marriott. It did not seem particularly intended for non-guest customers though we certainly didn't get bad service or food. The place was essentially empty except for us and one other table.
Arrived late into Bethesda so decided to just try restaurant at Marriott. The service was great and the food was fine....really no complaints. It met my expectations for hotel restaurant. I would not go out of my way to come here but certainly would go back if staying at the hotel and I am too tired or not a lot of time to go elsewhere.
My wife and I were seated right next to loud customers although the restaurant was empty. We didn't want to inconvenience the waitress by asking to be seated at another table but we should have. The customers continued to be noisy thoughout our entire meal which made our whole experience unenjoyable. Customers were seated at other tables as they arrived, so I wondered why we weren't seated at another table when we arrived. The food was good and the waitress was nice but our experience was not enjoyable. We couldn't hear ourselves talk. My wife just ordered the soup as to make a quick exit. She waited outside while I waited for the check. The restaurant was also very cold, in what was a rainy evening, which added to the discomfort.
A typical Marriott hotel restaurant. Only three groups there at prime time on a Friday night. We would normally have eatern somewhere else but wanted the convenience of not driving to dinner. Food was avergage. Nothing bad but nothing great. Seervice was rushed despite only three groups in the restaurant. There was a larger crowd at breakfast the next day. There is no reason not to go if you don't want to leave the property.
We had dinner here several times before attending performances at the Strathmore Music Center. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious. Although I have some serious food allergies, the chef was able to prepare fresh-tasting, delicious food for me, so I could enjoy my meal as much as my husband did. The menu listings are not extensive, but we were happy with the choices we made.
I was unaware that for Mother's Day it was required to get the $49 buffet, and you were not able to order from the menu. I had no idea and it would have been nice for Meritage to let me know that when confirming the reservation or if opentable could have put that information somewhere. I was planning on ordering from the regular menu. We had 6 people so that was very expensive. Would have rather gone somewhere else for Mother's Day.
Meritage did an amazing job for Mother's Day Brunch! The food was absolutely delicious! ...we didn't want to leave... the staff was so accommodating and was even able to seat us with a larger party than we reserved! Kudos to Katie and her staff!
We and some friends had a very nice dinner here before going to a symphony concert. My entrée choice, grilled salmon, was perfectly cooked. The other three in our party ordered the crab cake sandwiches, which they said were good, but that there was too much filler in the crab cakes and not as much crabmeat as they would have liked. The vegetable accompaniments were fresh and properly prepared. And, the sweet potato fries my husband ordered were delicious.(I pilfered some of his...). Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. She was a good liaison between me and the chef in dealing with my food allergies. We plan to return in the future.
The food was fine, though the food choices were slim. We took my 87 year old mother and it worked out great.
My family and I have had our Thanksgiving at the Meritage for the last several years. We always enjoy it. The atmosphere is relaxed. Everyone loves the food and the selection could never be matched in our own kitchens.
Smaller than we remembered but tasty nonetheless. Maybe it was because we could not get the 10am or 12 noon seating for 7 pf us on Mother's Day and were relegated to the 2pm seating. However, I can't say enough about how nice all of the staff were and how hard each and every one I them worked to make sure everything was perfect. Even when my daughter remarked that the chocolate sauce fir the fruit was only warm, someone IMMEDIATELY offered to heat it up and bring it to her at the table. When my mother didnt see the cream cheese near the bagels someone ran to the condiment table and brought it to her. The service couldn't be beat. Good was very good buffet food.
The two things that stood out were the appetizers and the service. Since it is located in a conference center that apparently had no conferences going on, it was nearly empty. Our waiter was one of the friendliest gentlemen I have ever met, and was happy to tell us about the menu selections. He steered us toward the right appetizers, the boom boom shrimp, calamari and the scallops on a pumpkin sauce were all well prepared and presented. The steaks we ordered were good, with a nice light chimichurri sauce. Wine prices were quite reasonable - no excessive markups for decent familiar wines.
The Meritage Salad was the best part of the meal. The Filet Mignon was charred (I don't mean seared!) on the outside, but rare on the inside. I ordered my steak medium & sent it back once. I was told that the Chef said that, according to his thermometer, the steak had & was cooked properly. It wasn't. There was only a smidgen of Blue Cheese atop the steak & the only flaovor was from the Burgundy Reduction. Further, I had to remove the outside of the steak. Altough there were only 6 other tables in the restaurant, the waiter was inattentive. I had to ask for a refill of my beer & my water. He neglected to bring me a fresh glass for my beer until I asked. Overall, this restaurant is way overpriced for the food, service, & ambience!!
wait staff was pleasant, attentive. Food was good and attractively presented.
