Fabulous location to enjoy a meal on the estuary looking out at the passing sailing boats and kayaks....nothing to beat it on a beautiful summer day.....would definately recommend a visit here.

Good view, shame about the food. For the main course my wife had a lamb dish which she liked apart from the asparagus, which was chopped up stalk with no head, she followed with cheesecake which she also enjoyed. For my main course I chose Lobster and crab fishcake, fries, pea puree and asparagus, the fishcakes were just bland mush, I wouldn't have known it was lobster and crab by the taste, and the fries looked straight out of the freezer, as did the fishcakes, the pea puree looked as if it had been spread over the plate for some time and dried out. To follow I wanted something sharp to compensate for the poor main, so I had blackcurrant mousse with crushed mango and fresh strawberries, when the waiter dropped it and walked away I realised there were no strawberries I tried the mousse and crushed mango and found them both to be bland, I was beginning to wonder about my taste buds maybe at fault, so my wife tried it and she also concluded that the blackcurrant flavour was the weakest she had ever tasted and the crushed mango tasted as if it came from a bottle. I would only recommend it to a friend if they went with my wife and ate what she had. The waiter was more interested in wiping empty tables than serving customers. The muzak was so loud I had to sit alongside my wife to have a conversation.

Had a really lovely meal with husband and our son who's 9, there was plenty of choice on the menu and we were lucky enough to have a window seat with stunning views, ask for this when booking if you can it's worth it. Good wine list and they encouraged us to take our half a bottle home that we didn't drink! waiters were attentive and informed and gave good advice on portion sizes, have booked again to return.

The Coombe Cellars has always been a favourite place of ours to eat. It has a wonderful view over the Teign estuary and is great at all times of the year. The staff are usually welcoming, polite and helpful. The menu is varied and the meals we chose on this visit were really good. We also chose a starter from the specials board which was scallops. They were cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. When you have been to Combe Cellars, you will want to go back. It's a great place for family and they are happy to accommodate large groups.

Recently had Sunday lunch with our friends. Was offered a window table looking down the estuary which wasn’t expected. Amazing views. Food was brilliant as was the service. We all had a great time. Thank you to everyone for making our visit so pleasurable.

As anticipated an interesting drive to the Coombe Cellars. Lovely view of the estuary, giving a good start to our booking. Table was as required, by the window with no muzak. Drinks and food orders were taken with friendly, knowledgeable efficiency. All went well until we finished our starter - there was an incredibly long wait for our main courses. The food was delicious and hot, but why the wait? Our waiter, Matt, was very apologetic about the wait, explaining the issues surrounding orders being submitted to the kitchen from a number of stations, and unfortunately, not having enough staff available. All quite understandable, but it would have been useful if we could have been kept more up-to-date on the progress of the food.
