The Conway has a traditional bar area, a living room style dining room and cosy fireside sofas. It’s a small venue with social distancing challenges, but we’re making it work. There is a small outdoor seating area at the front, great for outside urban eating and drinking and anticipated to be even more popular during current restrictions. The blackboard menu offers classic pub favourites, daily seasonal specials, mixed in with our chef’s own quirky dishes, whilst the bar serves a selection of guest ales and a great wine list that is available by the bottle and glass.
The Conway closes on Monday and opens at 4pm Tuesday for drinks only whilst we adjust to new operational procedures. We’re open Wednesday through to Sunday as usual.
- Surfaces sanitized between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily

Fabulous as usual and the service with a smile; great!
Really enjoyed it. Lovely meal and great service. Would definitely recommend
We had a lovely evening at The Conway with fantastic service and fabulous food. The starters and main courses were cooked with love and served with friendly attentiveness. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a very nice meal. Excellent food. Service was ok but I think they were short staffed which is totally expected these days. We had a fairly loud table behind us but that’s also unavoidable.
Wife requested burger to be plain. Came fully loaded. Meant I ate alone while order was prepped. my main objection however is how the waitress handled it. there was nobody visible from our table so I got up to look for someone. Through kitchen door window saw waitress leaning on wall in kitchen. Signalled could I talk to her and she made a shooing motion. She them leanded around the door and told me to go back to my table.
When she did attend we ended up in a row, her calling me rude (I dont feel I was) and arguing the toss about the semantics of the plain order.
Very dissapointing given the excellent service I've had at knife and fork and conway previously.
7 very contented customers. Food was excellent, wines lovely; great value, recommend a visit
Lovely food as always. Friendly helpful staff
Perfect setting for a get together with friends or date. Service is really efficient and friendly and food delicious.
A Sunday lunch treat. Roast beef dinner came with Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, cabbage and gravy. Very good children's menu - and they cater for fussy eaters like my grandson. Half plates from the main menu offered too. Excellent service. No intrusive music. Pear Frangipane is my new favourite dessert. Husband loved his sticky toffee pud too. Will definitely go back again.
Staff were welcoming and efficient.
Food was freshly cooked and delicious. Fabulous competitively priced wine list.
Looking forward to my next visit.
To be fair, the restaurant was quiet when we visited, so there was very little background noise- lovely
We all enjoyed the food and we all asked for 'pink' roast beef. However, steak knives required for cutting through. These are definitely required. I thought the gravy could have had more flavour and it was very light in colour. On the whole, outstanding food as always and the ambience and staff very good. We had more drinks outside and had a lovely afternoon. Thanks and we'll be back!
A great early evening meal with the family. Excellent food and the service was spot on.
Great place , lovely food. Pepper sauce for steak was just a dream.
Kids are picky eaters but they loved the food.
Lovely atmosphere too.
Lovely family Sunday lunch enjoyed by all. Thank you - we will be back soon!
Booked for drinks, lovely pub as always. The ladies behind the bar were very knowledgeable and recommended some lovely gin.
Really good food, nice venue, friendly staff. Would recommend.
Staff at the Conway were great as usual and the overall experience was good, we always enjoy a drink there. The food was a little underwhelming this time though and not up to the usual high standards.
Usually the food in the Conway is lovely but it was terrible last night and the service was bad.
Amazing food and staff was so friendly and welcoming. Har the t bone was cooked to perfection
Good menu choice, well presented food and attentive service by waiting staff
Could not fault anything. The food was delicious, service excellent and such good value for money. The noise level was just right in the there was a certain buzz which is needed.
Great staff and prompt service with a mellow atmosphere.
Service was excellent, beer very good, fish and chips nice, outside seating area was okay , there are local places with better garden ambiance.
My sister and myself ate here on Thursday.
Both had baguettes.
Tasty and well filled.
Would eat here again.
On arrival we were ignored for a few minutes as the staff carried on with their own conversation. There was quite a wait on food considering how quiet it was inside! Once it arrived the food was good. Probably the only good thing about the experience. Whilst having our meal we realised the cider I had ordered was past it’s best before date and my partners drink had a fly on it. When we made the manager aware he gave a half hearted apology and handed us the full bill.
Disappointing. We were put on a table by the front door which meant that we were sat in a cigarette infused breeze. We asked the team if we could move, but we were told that we had to stay where we were, despite there were tables free elsewhere. Basically it seemed that moving was to much effort for the Manager. Won't be visiting again.
Had a lovely meal here on Friday night. Staff were friendly and service was good. A lovely menu and the food was fantastic. Nice wine and gins too. Will be back.
Tasty Sunday lunch with some nice proper veg, but what stood out for me was the service. The staff could not do enough, including offering me something different, as I am vegetarian, and whipping up some gravy ad-hoc, and even apologising there was not a Sunday roast for veggies, despite just giving me one. Really first class attitude, very grateful. Rachel
Another delicious Sunday lunch! Fab starters, mains and the best pear frangipane ever.
Lovely venue for a Sunday lunch; the layout of the bistro pub is very classic/smart, whilst at the same time, it has a very really relaxed and casual feel to it.
The quality of the food was really good, the service was outstanding (lovely staff), and the portions were huge - it really felt like an old fashioned British Sunday lunch, in a modern/sleek setting.
You can’t fault this place. Great food, lovely looking pub and really nice staff. Would 100% recommend.
Great food and service. Very happy to see that they are covid safe.
The Conway was just as good as ever. We have always loved coming here- has everything- great beer, delicious food, really friendly staff and reasonably priced. Looking foreword to going there again soon!
amazing Sunday lunch, superb service from he time we were greated on arrival, sat down by the polite and friendly waiting staff, orders taken and food arrived hot and plentiful, would recommend and will be visiting myself again,
Lovely Sunday lunch for Father's day, the service was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. We sat outside which was nice so did not see the ambience inside but I'm sure it is nice. Thank you!
fantastic food as always. excellent value and friendly and helpuful staff.
Interesting menu with plenty of choice. Good service. It was quite cold due to having to keep doors open so wrap up warm.
The service was always with a smile and nothing was too much. Food was delicious and well presented with all requirements taken into account. Could not fault anything so only have praise. Definitely paying more visits!
Great food and service again, thank you for an enjoyable meal.
Found menu a bit restrictive/lacking choice so ended up ordering fish and chips. This was very tasty although not what I would have liked to have. check in process could have gone better, did not feel particularly welcome.
