After four successful years on the Upper West Side, we are thrilled to be opening our second location, bringing The Consulate’s diverse and global concept to Midtown. We welcome our regulars, new neighbors and friends, to experience the space, which celebrates the French-style bistro of our sister location with a few surprises across the board, ranging from exciting additions to the food & beverage menu to a refreshed design. Excellent! Will be back when around! There us such s perfect balance of attention snd privacy. I thought it was a list art. Food is stellar! Bone marrow -another “supposedly lost art”. Onion soup was superb. Raw lamb!!!!

We had an AMAZING experience at The Consulate! We were seated right away and it showed that there was attention paid to the notes made I'm our reservation. Being pregnant, I requested a lemonade and they made one fresh for me! My husband really enjoyed his drinks as well. We started with the crab cake and the bone marrow both were OUTSTANDING! We then had the short rib cavatelli and one of the specials which was a rock shrimp risotto! Finally, we finished with the creme bruleè and tiramisu. Which were so light and refreshing, but also hit the sweet spot. I would recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE!

We enjoyed this restaurant and would be happy to go back. But it was not the very highest quality. The service was good, but the app and the salad came at the same time, and the service staff was attentive, but not quite as much as they might have been. The food was good, with the pear and arugula salad being especially noteworthy, but my mashed potatoes were quite plain and the dessert selection was uninspiring. A very good restaurant, but not a great restaurant.

We had ordered a seafood tower and while waiting for that we were asked to order quickly because they wanted to close early on account of the lack of customers. We felt rushed and ordered a bunch of apps. When the seafood tower came it looked good enough but when i went to eat a clam it smelled so bad it shocked me and I dropped the clam. They took the tower and said they would replace the clams with oysters because those were the last 3 clams. All of the apps arrived at once (salad, bone marrow, escargot (12), fries (from the burger - that my daughter ordered and asked for togo bc we felt pressure). Again, the dessert guy is about to go, do you want a dessert? We had a reservation for 7:30, called we were delayed -got there closer to 8- had we known we would have gone elsewhere if they planned to close early. Nothing offered or taken off the check.
