   The food, vibe, and staff lovely. This time, the cuisine was Mexican. Now, let's start by saying our waiter Jordan was adorable so personable and well versed. Let's jump right into this food. My couscous was so overly cooked that I thought it was dry cornmeal, not the best on this particular day. But darling, my fish was cooked very well, so much flavor, just smacking delicious. They have this seared potato omg I could have eaten two of them a tasty potato. I can't wait until the next menu changes. If you never experience this spot, you are missing out on some good food and conversation piece at The Consulate. This I highly recommend staff

   We came back because our experience was so good. The food and drinks are great. What was even better than the food was the service we received from our server Chris. It was half the reason we went back this second time. If you want the full experience, you NEED to ask for Chris. One of the best servers in the industry!

   From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome. We were greeted with hellos and big, beautiful, smiling faces. The hospitality, the service, the staff, our waiter Chris, the food, the drinks and the ambience were all phenomenal. They change their menu every 90 days. This visit we were transported to Mexico. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to see which country we will be transported to. Shoutout to…Mei Lin Executive Chef and Owner and Douglas Hines interior Designer and Owner. Keep up the beautiful work!!!

   Girls night out! Had an amazing experience. Chris, our server was exceptional and his recommendations were on point. Definitely will be going back. Restaurant would also be great for celebrating a special occasion or for business dinner.

   Everything was great from start to finish and the food was incredibly delicious. The birria tacos were to die for.. I just wish you got 3 instead of 2 which would’ve made it more valuable imo. My wife got the birria ramen which was also incredible and super creative. Service was amazing and attentive. We’re definitely going back!

We realized many would compare our tacos to the many standard restaurants that offer somewhat similar items at lower price points. Rest assured they are not.     My birthday celebration at The Consulate was simply superb! My party and I were met with warm enthusiasm and sheer excellence by the staff upon our arrival and it continued throughout our dining experience and to our departure. Every single person who greeted us or came to our table was gracious and lovely! It was very welcoming. Our server Wesley went above and beyond to make our dining experience and my birthday one to remember! The global cuisine was a delightful trip for my tastebuds. We ordered a little of everything and globetrotted through the dishes. The lamb chops were extremely tender and flavorful. The Moroccan Sunset cocktail was heavenly! The ambience was perfect and the decor placed me in a classic movie setting. The Consulate has set the bar super high for my future outings… definitely my new favorite dining destination!

    Found the menu to be overwhelming but Jordan was so helpful and well versed, he helped us make great selections. He was great all around pleasure. Ambience and vibe was so nice. Staff was friendly as well.

    You get to eat flavorful food from around the world for a reasonable price. There was a bit of a wait for a server in the beginning but I guess the food makes up for that.

    We've been to this restaurant twice, each time with a different country theme, and both experiences were absolutely fantastic, with awesome food, and very friendly service. Book early as the restaurant is very popular.

    The Consulate is one of those restaurants that seems to just get everything right. You are first greeted with sights of a very well-furnished restaurant with a comfy waiting area. The rest of the restaurant has a sleek and very worldly look. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the drinks and the food are exquisite. The coolest feature though is the revolving menu. Every once in a while they change their menu to focus more heavily on a particular country/culture and serve dishes inspired by that. I had an incredible Ethiopian lamb dish along with an Ethiopian beer and was very pleased! I highly recommend eating here when you are in Atlanta.

    Food was flavorful and delicious. Server was knowledgeable, but no sense of urgency. Food came out in a timely manner but very slow service regarding getting waters on the table, glassware, wine, etc.

    Overall great experience. A group party near my table was very loud and distracting. It was too loud. The chocolate mexican cake was VERY dry.

    One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Chris provided excellent service and was very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu. Service was very fast. We came during the Mexico tour and had the chiles en nogada and short rib tacos from the Mexican menu and the Havana eggroll and the Diplomat burger from the permanent menu. Every single thing was incredible and so full of flavor. The burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life and the chiles en nogada was stunningly good. For dessert, the Turkish coffee cheesecake with orange and pistachio was amazing. The Mexican chocolate cake was also fabulous with a wonderful mix of Mexican spice, chocolate, and raspberry. This was the rare meal where I had to say, “Oh wow” after trying each thing. Many restaurants aren’t worth the price, but this place was worth every penny. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    A phenomenal establishment! This is our second time here. Our first was during the Korea menu and now for the Mexico menu. The service is always incredible and the food comes out fast. It's incredibly clean and I can't wait to come back in June for Ireland! It's become one of our date night staples every quarter.

    Everything was great as far as Our waitress Cherry and the food was incredible I did ask for a booth specifically and that was a bit of a downer when I go out I expect to have all my expectations met especially when I request it ahead of time..it wasn’t a mystery. But overall it was great

Our host works very hard at trying to accommodate the many requests she gets nightly for various seating arrangements. If it is a must, our will explain that a wait will likely ensue, and you would easily get the next booth available. funfact: a wait in the lounge for a booth rarely exceeds more than 20 minutes, even on busy nights. We are glad you still enjoyed your visit and look forward to your next!

    I've been here so many times and it's always consistent. I've never had a bad meal. Service is professional and friendly. We went here for the last weekend for Korea. I have no had Korea food prior to this, but it makes me want to have it more often. This is Donnelly a hidden gem.

    The Consulate was an excellent experience that I highly recommend. The wait staff is not only courteous, but knowledgeable. They wanted to know your name, what you like so they could possibly recommend something that would suit your tastes. They listened carefully to what foods we enjoyed and we had a wonderful meal. My wife and I can’t wait to return.

    We went for the Korea menu experience and overall were slightly disappointed. We had a 6:15 reservation and by the time we left it was 7:45 and we didn’t even receive all the food we ordered. We asked for the mandu, truffle bulgogi, scallion pancake and the baby octopus. The pancake never came out and the baby octopus was over cooked. Good flavor just way too rubbery. We love this place so we had saved it for a special date night out and left feeling a little underwhelmed. Don’t write it off though, their resident menu is SO good with lots of tasty options. Mexico starts 3/1, and I feel like that will be better just be prepared to wait a while since service is kinda slow.

    The only reservation available when I checked was 10pm. It was late but we had heard how great the restaurant was. Upon seating we were told the kitchen closes at 10:20pm, but no mention of bar or any other services closing. This was a little shocking since it was not mentioned before, but we hurried and made app and dinner selections to get them in. Food came quick which was fine but when we tried to order more drinks around 10:30pm we were then told the bar was closed. Our server Jordan was great but I felt bad for him since he didn’t have adequate time to do his usual service. The bar closing and refusing to even pour a glass of wine while customers are still eating was unexpected. If the restaurant is going to have such firm rules about the bar closing and food order cut off times, then they should not offer a 10pm seating or even a 9:45pm or 9:30pm seating. For the bar to close at 10:20pm or 10:30pm I feel like 9pm should be the last seating so the guests have plenty of time to enjoy the meal and not be given cut off or closing notices. Given the price point of the meal, this level of restaurant should not be in the business of telling guests “no”. Our party of 4 spent almost $100 per person including service fee and Add’l tip. As I said, Jordan was great and because of his service and the quality of food, we will come back, but we were disappointed in the restaurant’s policies regarding last seating vs closing times. Unfortunate since this was our first time trying The Consulate. I definitely will not book a table later than 9pm next time and write this to inform other guests of the late seating and kitchen / bar cut off times.
