    Our first time here and it was amazing! Every dish we got was spectacular. The dishes they have outside of the rotating menu are there for a reason. We went during Egypt but stuck to the traditional menu. We got dumplings, egg noodles with lobster, and squid ink noodles with beef bulgogi. Friendly waitstaff, just was a little slow when we went. Good drinks too. Also perfect noise level, I don’t like when I can’t hear myself talk but it wasn’t too loud in there. Great ambiance as well. We’ll be going back to try more.

    Big fan of the consulate but this was a miss. The female bartender spent too much time talking while we were waiting for her to pour wine ( with other patrons) Jay was a very nice server, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, but neglected to bring us the limes that were requested I enjoyed the unique flavors of the Egyptian menu We will be back for the next country but I think some re coaching and education for the staff would be helpful

    Yesterday was the first day of food from Egypt…everything was DELICIOUS! From cocktails, appetizers, entrees, all the way through to dessert., our party of 4 had everything from the “Egyptian” menu and were delighted. Service is impeccable while the atmosphere is fun! We recommend The Consulate to anyone in or visiting Atlanta!

    The Consulate remains a have to try place in Atlanta. Why? It's unique and the food is exceptional. Every 3 months, the menu changes to a different country in the world. The owner/chef learns the local cuisine and delivers a menu of typically 10-15 dishes native to that country. She uses authentic foods, including local spices and seasonings. And they adjust their cocktail menus and beer and wine lists to try to fit with those cuisines as well. Last night was Indonesia. We chose 3 dishes for dinner to share: a fried chicken breast dish heavily seasoned with turmeric, a zesty eggplant dish in a locally inspired sauce, and a seafood fried rice that was nothing like what you might see in a Chinese or Japanese restaurant. All were excellent. Service was good, but not as good as it has been at times. For a restaurant of this caliber, my expectation is that the basics are second nature. Yet they weren't. Perhaps it was because of a couple of large parties very near our table. The Egyptian menu starts next week. I can't wait.

    Dear John, you are spot on. We had a few large parties and sadly one team member fall of his e-bike on the way into work and call out. This put undue strain on Kyla and the other 2 team mates to service the entire restaurant. We truly apologize. We are glad you still enjoyed and we look forward to your next visit!

    This visit was tough. It took us about a half hour to get seated and then another hour to order. I found myself waiting for the last course so we told the waiter to cancel it. We are regulars and usually our experience is great, but this visit was not a good showing.

    Thank you for the feedback Brooke! We truly apologize for the wait, as that night we got hammered with large groups. Jordan held off on sending your last dish, because of having no room on your table. It was in the food runners hands headed out, when you cancelled it. He wondered if you had a show to catch, as your visit was 55 minutes in total. If ever the case, please let us know! We can send everything at once. Thankfully you know, we strive to deliver 99% of the time. Apologies for the hiccups.
