The Compound Restaurant
Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.

Awesome all around. Unique, quaint bar, amazing faculty, superb food and service. Can’t wait to vome back!
Everything here is wonderful, from the atmosphere to the food to the staff. Had a fantastic experience all around!
excellent wine selections and food, relaxing ambiance,
The hostess was less than helpful when we wanted to get one drink in an otherwise nearly empty bar while waiting for our table. How about empowering the hostess to make sensible decisions instead of following some rigid script? Happily the rest of our evening was great, but this left a bad taste.
We were 6 people celebrating a friend’s Birthday. We all ordered different meals and all were very delicious but the Beef Cheeks were out of this world. Just outstanding.
A great place. I have been going for a long time and it never fails to impress. This summer the outdoor patios will be great.
Lovely setting and delicious food for a special occasion lunch.
the architectural detail (designed in the 1960's) carries the day here. the delightful french food of the once-upon-a-time compound has been replaced with mediocre large portions of good enough food. the ambiance is wonderful.
Always great food and great service
From the first hostess hello, to the last hostess goodbye, and all the service and food in between, the best a restaurant can offer, especially for one's 70th birthday celebration!
As always it was a delightful lunch at The Compound. Everything is done so well, from the beautiful white tablecloth settings to the service and the food. The Spring Pea soup was fantastic and the beef cheeks over polenta was to die for. The bread plate is also a delight, with seeded crackers as well as focaccia that melts in your mouth. The service was excellent, despite the fact that our waiter accidentally doused my friend with the remainder of the wine in my glass! She was contrite and respectful, and offered to make it right for her. I only wish the restaurant had stood behind their staff member and offered to pay for the drycleaning instead of forcing the server to pay for it.
Nice atmosphere. Good service, friendly. Just wish more entrees had vegetables.
Each time we dine at the Compound we are delighted with the quality of the food and service. Thank you!
excellent as always. well prepared and presented food. top notch service.
Could not have been better. Service food and ambience were all excellent
Lovely and beautiful
While there are many good things about the Compound as we experienced it recently, the food was less than stellar. We ordered a foil grass with sweetbreads which did not come together very well--very soop-y which made it hard to distinguish the foes gras; the asparagus salad was excellent, the pork scallopini flavors were a bit too intense, though the onion rings and the strawberry rhubarb tart were lovely. Our waitress was great.
An excellent dining expirience. Sommelier was great. Found a great wine for us.
Excellent service and beautiful menu . Food cooked perfectly and presented beautifully.
The food and service were spectacular! I would highly recommend this restaurant
We thought that for how highly rated The Compound was that the menu was boring and the food was generally unexciting. I started with a pea soup that was luke warm and had very little flavor. I finally added some shaved parmesan to that came with my friend's salad to give it some flavor. My friend had a scallop starter as a main which she thought was very good. I had the duck breast that was good but not great. Wouldn't go back. There are better restaurants in Santa Fe, some that probably don't reach this price point.
Excellent lunch. The pork cutlet was the best.
Can’t wait to return!
Was here once before many, many years ago. Was in town and wanted to see if I could recreate the fabulous experience of my prior visit
The answer was yes. Food, atmosphere, service.
One of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure
It was just wonderful
Old friends came to visit and we wanted to show them a good time. It was special.
We go a lot to the Compound: Their food is perfect, the service is perfect, it's a very beautiful restaurant. We like to go there by ourselves or with friends.
All around, you cannot go wrong at the Compound. This is a higher end, destination restaurant that can serve as both a special occasion and a routine spot for quality good food.
One of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and kind. The food and wine recommendations were perfect. Thank you Compound for a wonderful experience.
I'd never thought of this as a lunch place, but it was excellent...nice portions, and quiet enough for good conversation.
Think this place is Improving over the years. Always a great place but disappointed at times in past. Lately great every time.
An absolutely delightful experience. The host, staff, building and overall ambiance make for a remarkable evening.
If you’re in Santa Fe make it a point to dine at Compound. I’ve now done so twice and intend to be there again when back.
Outstanding as always! The food and service were superb.
Great food and service!
This place is superb! Truly amazing! Every detail is accounted for... wonderful every time!
For the money and the reputation, this was no where near one of the "better" restaurants in Santa Fe. Food was fine, nothing special.
Superb. Excellence in all matters, and the food was divine! Foie gras was large and tender as butter, with sweetbreads and a mushroom sauce that complimented but did not overpower. Duck breast, medium rare, perfection! Christina Bustamonte, sommelier, was most helpful. This place is nothing but first class. It was not my first time and will not be my last.
Traveled to Santa Fe and was looking for a place with history but wanted to be spoiled. The Compound was the place and if you have the chance to have Alejandro as your waiter your in for a great night!
