Vanessa was amazing!
As always, we enjoyed our lunch! The chicken schnitzel a favorite. Our waitress was superb, made us feel very welcome and cared for. They gave us our request for a quiet corner booth, very appreciated.
We come to Santa Fe once per year and The Compound for lunch is always one of our favorites. The relaxing atmosphere, great food and attentive service is always dependable.
Professional service but not stuffy. Expensive wine list. Nice ambiance. Food is the star. Had the tenderest, most flavorful beef tenderloin I have ever had. My husband had double pork shop with a ham hock reduction and he wanted to,lick his plate. Creative presentations.
Requested a quiet table and was then seated in a lovely quiet area. However, within minutes, a table of 8-10 were seated next to us and the noise level was unbearable! knowing that we desired a quiet area, the restaurant could have re-seated us.
Food was just wonderful and service was excellent. Our new favorite restaurant in Santa Fe.
Going to the Compound is always a treat for me as a Santa Fe resident
This restaurant was our favorite while visiting Santa Fe! Friendly, knowledgeable staff (especially our waiter & Christina, the sommelier) and delicious food. We started with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot (I wanted brut rose so they sent over some Chambord to add a little pink!) My pear-parsnip soup was fabulous! I believe that Barry had seafood. My vegetarian entrée was sautéed mushrooms w/ black truffles & tender greens over a crisp polenta. Dessert was decadent (chocolate tart). We always love ending with cappuccinos. Taking Uber saved the trouble of parking & allowed us to both enjoy wine. I hope that we can return soon.
A special birthday celebration for a friend was perfect in The Compound setting. This is a long time favorite, and they did not disappoint this time. Best food, great cocktails and wine list, and the most professional staff in town.
The restaurant overall was excellent, but they placed us in a very high traffic area which was constant traffic. The food was very good, but the location of the two table placement was not very appealing.
The food is always excellent at The Compound. It is our "special occasion" go-to restaurant.
Our meal was very good although my friend was surprised by a bone in the chicken breast dinner. The desserts were amazing! Very creative and just the right sizes. A bit of a walk from town and the entrance did not seem inviting, but inside it was lovely. I liked the banquets for seating along the wall.
Our experience could not have been better. Absolutely wonderful food, drink, and service. This is a must place for anyone visiting Santa Fe.
We enjoyed an excellent lunch at the Compound restaurant on Canyon road while visiting Santa Fe. An upscale restaurant that is a must for any "Foodie" visiting Santa Fe. The food is amazing, service excellent, and the ambiance very relaxing and conducive for conversing. After your memorable lunch you can stroll along Canyon road and take in all of the art galleries!! A must visit while in Santa Fe!!
This may be the fourth or fifth visit to the Compound. The first 2 years ago was excellent, both food and service. Then with a party of six it was good, but memorable because of the company. Third time we were seated upstairs in a corner, service and food poor to maybe average.
I asked we be seated downstairs, done! Servers were excellent and very attentive and was the best part of the meal. Food was just ok, my wife’s “Birkshire” pork chop was not tender at all. Lamb shank was good, hard to screw up dark meat. Wine service was excellent.
But....,specifically said on the Open Table reservation it was our “wedding anniversary”. Zero recognition whatsoever. Very disappointing for a $400+ meal but maybe that is not their practice. We live here in SF and consider this restaurant one of a few high end establishments, but I think we may not be back.
This was Hospitality at its finest. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. They greeted us with sparkling wine and acknowledged our wedding anniversary. Our food was amazing and we highly recommend you to visit this restaurant. Thank you for a memorable evening.
Service was perfection!!
And serving the wonderful new menu was amazing especially the pear soup
Great overall experience. Som was great, knows and likes her wines. Waitress super pleasant and helpful, waitstaff great!
If you want a great meal in Santa Fe it’s here.
Great for special occasions, and has plenty of parking. Open for lunch with more moderate prices.
We’ve been here several times and usually enjoy it. (No worries- we will be back) this time was a little off, we felt. It seemed that the menu was somewhat more limited than usual-The duck tasted glutinous-kind of fatty. The beef tenderloin was just OK. The beet salad was delicious as was the desert- the Catena Malbec tasted kind of soapy. Service also felt a bit understaffed, but it was a Wednesday, perhaps understandable.
Very nice. Desserts were too sparse. Need to be more substantial
As always a wonderful evening at The Compound
Interior needs to be updated and made more elegant. Too chopped up in style.
My second time here, and once again -- just lovely. Beautiful table, Leanne was terrific, the quail was to die for, paired with a fine red. Love the glassware, the fine linens, the elegant yet warm service. Just terrific. I'll be back again and again. xoxo
My friends and I usually head to The Compound for a celebration lunch...but it's really also quite fun at the bar for a quick bite and fun conversation. The service is perfect, the food is delicious and wonderfully prepared/presented. Just a consistently great restaurant.
A high point for this restaurant is the bar. It's cozy, friendly and has a great bartender. The food and service are outstanding but way overpriced (37$ for three duck slices).
Not what we expected and certainly not acceptable for a fine dining restaurant. We have visited here many times and never experienced such poor service. It took 15 minutes plus before our server came to our table to offer water. Then another 15 minutes to take drink orders. Upon delivering our cocktails he decided to check on another table. When taking our order, he acted irritated when we asked him about various entrees and he cavalierly asked if we wanted a few more minutes. We said no and told him that we had been waiting long enough for him to explain the menu. We were served our first course and when we were almost finished, he approached with the peppermill, asking if one guest wanted pepper while clearly seeing that the guest had exactly 3 small beets remaining. Once the general manager stepped in to assist, things turned around. The food was good but not great. One guest ordered the lobster tails and for the price ($49), there were only two small tails..it was pitiful. It will probably be a while before we return.
the schnitzel was average and it is usually superb.
Four locals celebrating a mutual friend from CA. Our reservation was at noontime. Water service was quickly taken, and drink selections. Drinks did not arrive until 12:25
Service was very slow,! The restaurant was busy, but tables that arrived after us were served
their drinks and first courses before our waiter even took our lunch order.
Several of our guests ordered the stacked salad, OK . Generally speaking for those at our table from Santa Fe, it was a very disappointing event.
Sorry to give a less than positive review, but that was our groups experience.
Santa Fe, NM
Great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere! I will be back. Great for out-of-town guest.
You can't go wrong at The Compound. Besides the exquisite food and fully attentive service, one note is that parking is provided--not always easy on Canyon Road.
Our waiter was fabulous! Very attentive, but not overly intrusive. Ambiance was very enjoyable and comfortable. It was a very relaxing. We waited quite a while for our entree to be served, due to several large parties there that night. It was pretty noisy until a very large party finished and left the restaurant. This was my first trip to Santa Fe and The Compound was recommended by several sources. Loved the location in Canyon Road area! We would eat here again because of the lovely atmosphere and service.
We love this restaurant! The staff is amazing and food is consistently spectacular. Also, the bartender makes superb drinks!
We arrived for our 8pm reservation at 6pm and asked if we could be seated. We were not only given a table but one in a "private" room upstairs where we enjoyed more than an hour alone before the dinner crowd of Santa Fe began arriving. We were very well taken care of by a very attentive and informative staff. Our food was beautiful and delicious and what an extensive wine list! A perfect evening in a beautiful location on Canyon Road in Santa Fe! I highly recommend this restaurant!
The Compound is my go to spot in Santa Fe for both lunch and dinner. The food, atmosphere and wine list are fantastic.
We selected the perfect place for our (excellent) double-anniversary dinner: a first anniversary and a fiftieth anniversary.
Delicious food. Inviting ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff. A memorable experience for our trip to the southwest.
Everything about The Compound was outstanding from service to ambiance to food. A new favorite!
The best in Santa Fe. Great menu very consistently excellent. Wonderful service!
Abosulouely no complaints. The food was fresh. Gourmet uniquely creative and flavorful dishes. Do not skip dessert.
Service was professional knowledgeable and attentive.
We travel often and this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Bravo ! Not to be missed if your in Santa Fe. Regards to Our waiter , Will.
