Amazing. Simply amazing. If you are not eating here during your time in Santa Fe you are missing out! This is one of, if not THEE best restaurant in Santa Fe. The food is exceptional, the staff is exceptional, and the experience is exceptional.... it’s been 7 years between visits here and I will make sure it is not so long before the next one.

Excellent. From the moment we got through the door and walked to the hostess stand and throughout our meal, our experience was excellent. The Compound is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in Santa Fe.

We managed to get a table for 5 on short notice for lunch in order to celebrate a special birthday and I am delighted it all worked out. The food was excellent...I had a swordfish dish that was outstanding and my fellow diners were pleased with their choices as well. The service was impeccable and warm to boot! The desserts were novel and tasty...in short, we had a lovely meal in a lovely restaurant.

Our selections included the summer corn vichyssoise, the pastrami sandwich plate, and the shaved smoked salmon plate: all prepared/presented to the same delightful level as the Alexander Girard designed surrounds. Scrumptious.
Wifey and I shared a Bloody Mary and 1 pour of chardonnay. Each matched above selections perfectly and deliciously.
Will definitely return; considering a Thanksgiving holiday seating too.
Hope primary ladies restroom is back in service soon.

The compound is always good. However, we've been going less and less frequently, because the menu basically never changes, even to the point where the "specials" are predictable. The food - very good to very acceptable. I admit I have favorites even with the above criticism. The restaurant just seems a little off lately. On this visit, my martini arrived so late it was warm and dilute. Wait staff appear to have just a couple too many tables. The usual upbeat atmosphere seems a little worn and tired instead. Or maybe I'm just a little tired of it, and so are those who work there.

Filet ordered medium but came well-done, but quickly offered another steak. Took a comped dessert instead. Had lunch and dinner there. Wait staff was impeccable. Wine choices great. The goat cheesecake maybe the best dessert I have ever had.

The only negative to our evening could’ve happened anywhere. The food was superb and our waiter was on top of our dining experience but was never intrusive.

We had halibut and it was prepared wonderfully with roasted cherry tomatoes, pearl onions, a few mussels along with a Pinot noir sauce.

Their bread was delicious and they regularly asked if you wanted more.

We had a raspberry dessert that had a limoncello sauce. Very good yet light.

In making a reservation we requested patio dining. Up arrival one of the restaurant personnel indicated this was not possible due to the fact a group, complete with name tags had reserved the patio. Prior to being seated two other parties were advised the same. Unfortunate as they could easily indicated on their website that outdoor dining was not available that evening. Service was prompt & personable. Management not so much. Boss man in a cheap suit never attempted to interact with customers. Bush league in a small intimate dining venue like the Compound. Food ? Ok , the duck was fatty. Other dish’s weren’t particularly well seasoned. Opera cake desert was delicious. Nit Pic but there is no signage indicating there is only one way in and out. Difficult to decern in the dark. Haughty management attitude, server excepted, Not inclined to go back, like they even care.

It was freezing in our area. They were unable to do much.
Tuna tartar was excellent. I had breast of duck. Very tasty & cooked perfectly but several of the pieces were not only a little fatty but grissely(?). Is this an issue for the kitchen or just bad luck.?? Pork chop was quite good. Onion rings were so good although incongruent.
Restaurant is very pretty. White table cloths.
Waiter was adequate but a little disinterested.
Overall I recommend it.

My friend had the halibut and I had the fillet. We shared the butter lettuce salad and a chanterelle side. All delicious. The service was excellent. The location was great - close to our hotel.

Beautiful restaurant with nice ambiance. Greeted warmly by hostess with the usual friendly way of Santa Fe residents. However, our server Emanuel, from first contact was rude and seemed annoyed, and had no eye contact. Very unusual for Santa Fe and especially in Santa China a high end restaurant. My friend and I tried to ignore his attitude, but it was really affecting our ding experience on our last night. I therefore spoke to the manager and he was apologetic and assured us he would rectify this situation. In addition he gave us after round of drinks. Our servers attitude improved and the food was outstanding. I must say service is always part of the dining experience. I had two before dined at Geronamos where again food was excellent but the charming waiter really added to the enjoyment. Can only hope the manager at the Compound pays attention to this server.

The Compound is our "go to" place in Santa Fe for a relaxing and delicious meal. We always consider it a special occasion even it is not a birthday or anniversary. We are greeted at the door coming and going in a very complimentary way. It's an all around dining experience for us.

We went for dinner. Food was outstanding. Service could have been better. While 95% of staff was great, our main waiter was off. The restaurant was not crowded, but yet kept sitting people in the most undesirable tables. We asked to be moved as well as another couple asked to be moved. There were a LOT of tables available but they seemed to want to sit people in the bad ones. But, they were very nice about people moving so that was a good thing. I would go back, as the food was excellent. The outside courtyard is very pretty.

The Compound is out “go to” place for a special or celebratory dinner. The food is reliably delicious and appealingly served. We always check with sommelier Kristine for an appropriate wine to pair with dinner as her taste aligns with mine. The noise level is always a little above what I would prefer but that is because it is always busy.

I've been dining here every four or five months for twenty years and the food has always been fresh, wonderfully prepared and beautifully presented. It's a perennial favorite among our friends and family and a great place to bring out of town visitors. It's also nice for lunch, and just as good.

Another delicious lunch at The Compound. Ordered the halibut fish and chips - both were perfection on a plate. Our server was Will. He was absolutely darling and attentive. We “will” definitely return again.

Creative, seasonally inspired dishes. The restaurant decor features Alexander Girard's colorful folk art inspired designs. Each room is unique, and there's a lovely patio for lunch. Start with their tasty mountain of onion rings (listed as a "side" on the menu, but every single table in the house ordered it as an appetizer). Some dishes have misleading names so read descriptions with care (for instance, my "corn vichyssoise" was neither chilled nor potato-leek based, but rather a flavorful warm corn chowder). My bacon-wrapped pork dish was way underdone (who eats raw pork?) but the waiter make quick repairs and the do-over was delicious. Gorgeous desserts are flavorful yet light so you needn't leave feeling weighted down. A pricey but top quality experience.

We celebrated our 58th Wedding Anniversary at the Compound. Had spectacular cocktails and a nice visit with the bartender prior to dinner. We started with the Jumbo Prawns. Never have shrimp tasted this good. Our second course was the corn soup. Spectacular! My spouse had the Rack of Lamb for her main course; I had the Pork Loin. Both were incredible. Usually, we have steaks; however, we had them the night before. Dessert was the goat cheese Cheesecake. Perfect finale to our dinner. The Compound never fails to amaze us.

My husband and I always try to have an evening at The Compound when visiting Santa Fe and it never disappoints. The food and service are always perfect. When we dined there last week I had the boned rack of lamb with mushrooms and polenta. Marvelous! Not only did it taste wonderful, it was so much easier to eat without the bone. My husband had the steak which was equally well prepared. Our dining experience was further enhanced when Chef Kiffin stopped by the table for a chat. He didn't have to make that stop, but he did. It's the little things that count and that philosophy is obviously in play every step of the way at The Compound.
