When the reservation was made we made it for standard dinning not the high table, but when my friend arrived they sat her at a high table and when she asked for a regular table the hostess said they were for families with children. So I’m wondering why I was given a choice when I made the reservation. And is this restaurant discriminating us because we don’t have children??? If I ask for as standard table and it was available at the time of the reservation that what I expect.
Secondly we were having brunch and our server asked if we would like refills on our coffee (not a specialty coffee just a drip coffee). Most brunch places will refill drip coffee for free and if it isn’t they let you know that there is an extra charge. We did not know that each cup of coffee was extra, so I was charged for 2 cups of coffee.
Thirdly, my friend has the avocado toast and ordered a soft poached egg and when her eggs came they were hard poached.
Im not sure that The Commoner is worth going back to. It’s too bad bc the restaurant could be so much more.

Food was great. Everyone in our party enjoyed their choices. Having vegan options was the main reason we picked The Commoner and our vegan guests were not disappointed. The Steak Frites and Back ribs were super tasty. The meat fell of the bones, just the way I like it. It was a bit on the pricier side for all of the meals and appetizers but for the quality it seemed okay. And they had a great beer selection too.

Had brunch with a few friends and the experience was just ok. Our waitress was not attentive at all and we had to wave her down a few times when we were out of water and wine, the restaurant wasn’t busy. Food was good.

The service and the food were both amazing. The only downside was the music, it was a little too loud for the space and it was difficult to hear other people at our table.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the food so much! Plus it's a great location and close to home. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Lovely restaurant, nice location for a first date. Good classy atmosphere, tasty food with decent portions. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and service was quick. Only downsides are that food is a touch expensive for what you're getting, and drink prices are abominable (but where are they not?)

We were on time for our brunch 11:30am reservation, but it took 30 minutes before food arrived.

Menu was limited to about 10 items and you could not order off their regular menu until 3:45. This lead one of our party to only order toast as instead of regular bacon it was maple bacon.

Service was good and the side order of toast was a good deal at $2, as coffee was $3.

Its a nice place but noisy due to flat walls, floors and ceiling implying limited sound proofing. As its a family restaurant little kids can significantly amp up the noise level.

Service was excellent. Quality of food was very good too.

The decor was the best feature of The Commoner. It's a small pub with a small food menu. Disappointed that it was comprised of the usual pub food that can be found everywhere. Could be a lot better.

Food we ordered was pretty run of the mill. Nothing spectacular. Quality was good, taste was fine.

Kind of on the noisy side. Barely audible music.

Food is always great - had the Power Bowl and thought it was delicious. Lots of good menu choices for the varied tastes of the group I was with.

If you are looking for a decent pub with fairly good food, the Commoner is a hit. We were there last Saturday for lunch at 1 PM. Place was about 20% full. Still the service a tad slow. Now the kitchen bent over backwards to accommodate my friend's special request. High mark's to the chef.
My cheeseburger stood out. My wife's Eggs Benedict was a winner. Craft beer flight nailed it.
Wouldn't want to be there if the place was packed.

Been a few times now and it does not disappoint. Great food and a good selection of beers. Will be back!

Service was excellent for this type of place (gastropub). Food was good but had an issue with my meal and had to send it back. It was addressed very effectively, however.

Great service, great food and a very nice ambiance. This time around we had the Chicken bites and the Fish and Chips, delicious as always. Servers always very friendly and the manager comes around to ensure all is good. We have been here a few times and highly recommended. Reservations suggested at peak times.

Good place to hang out and get dinner. Cocktails are a bit pricey.

Food and Service were great, we came for a birthday with a table of 9 of us and had a great time! We will definitely be back.

The tiled walls are lovely, but a disaster for the acoustics. My friend and I could barely carry on a conversation.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday, really enjoyed the eggs benny. Just enough, not an overload of food...just right. Find this place cozy, noise level was good (not loud), good service, good vibe. Can't really complain about anything! Lovely experience.

Loved the ambiance and the service. I ordered the huevos rancheros and didn’t like it at all. The eggs were basically raw. The truffle fries my partner ordered were very good though. Cool spot, but maybe cook the eggs before putting it on the plate.

Good experience and we were a table of 12, so not a small party! but, it took over an hour for food to arrive... which felt unnecessary. I would go back for sure, great spot. just dont expect fast service.

Outstanding food and drink at The Commoner. Our table ordered the tuna tostada, crab cakes, nachos, chicken tacos and French onion soup. Everything was excellent! Highly recommend.
