At our gastropub, we don’t distinguish between commoners and kings; we just want to feed the good people of Pittsburgh. In the restaurant, seasonal menus add a modern flair to classic comforts, complemented by a robust selection of local beers and craft spirits. It’s all served in an industrial-inspired setting in downtown Pittsburgh. Come and join us for an uncommonly good time.

Went for Sunday brunch. Absolutely amazing everything! The server and bartender were fantastic...can’t wait to go back.
Visiting PGH and had a group of six. Food was great, our server was A+++
I adore this restaurant but the menu is much much smaller due to covid. Signature cocktail list is 3/10.
I came in for a happy hour with my friends. I certainly enjoyed my cocktails and appetizers. The waitress was so friendly!!!
Very good food, the service was outstanding. Pretty limited menu but nice choices and a good wine list too.
Great brunch food. Responsive staff. A couple larger parties increased noise level but was still a nice pregame day experience.
Hostess told us to wait at the bar until our reserved table was available Noticed empty tables 20 minutes later and asked for our table and she said oh I thought you decided to eat at the bar...truly lame. Seated with a view of kitchen and the head cook never once put his mask on...hope he's been vaccinated
Food good however
Espresso martinis and crispy potatoes app 10/10 would recommend!!!
Excellent vibe, drinks, food.
The dishes were truly outstanding and memorable. And the specialty cocktails were excellent too.
Food and drinks were excellent and the staff was so friendly and relaxed despite how busy it was in the dining room. Will always come back here
The restaurant seemed understaffed and the wait time was extremely long. We received the wrong meal and then waited a long time for the replacement. The food was average and not worth the price point.
Cocktails were great, as were the beef tartare and crispy potatoes appetizers. The entrees and the accompaniments, however, were very under-seasoned.
The scallops were absolutely fantastic and cooked to perfection. The service was fantastic, and they accommodated my dietary needs with professionalism and kindness.
Great food and atmosphere. Need a few more items on the dinner menu.
Worth the value with good ambience
Great weekend brunch. Awesome atmosphere. Great tasting food.
The food was fantastic. The server, Becca, was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for more. The crispy potato and Taleggio fondue was amazing. Crisp and fluffy in the middle. Scallops were perfectly seared and the cook was perfect. The pork loin was also cooked perfectly and the Brussels sprouts were slightly charred and still a bit al dente. We had the chocolate ganache for dessert and were fighting over the last bite. I’ll definitely be back.
Food was over priced for the quality and being a hotel restaurant. Server didn’t see knowledgeable about the menu or restaurant.
Good food and service.
We had the lamb meatballs and crispy potatoes for appetizers. They were delicious! Unique and scrumptious. Then we had the scallops and salmon for entrees. Equally delicious! And then we had the cheesecake custard for dessert. Wonderful. I've never had anything like that.
Our server, Becca, was excellent. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable. Everything that you want a server to be.
I highly recommend this place. I use a wheelchair, and it was completely accessible. There was an elevator from the hotel lobby that goes straight into the restaurant.
The food was amazing and the restaurant was set up to make us feel safe. Really nice experience.
Host greeted us with a "Happy Birthday!" which was a nice touch. Service was perfect - not overbearing at all, while still attentive enough. Food was perfectly acceptable, just didn't knock my socks off. The best part of the pandemic is that the tables are spaced far apart!!! Will go again.
Our waitress was awesome. That's saying a lot for Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh service is weird, even in modern trendy places like this. Potatos were awesome, beets amazing, and their burger is perfect, hot juicy and unpretentious, just a burger with a dope sauce worth all the $16. My wife ordered her $40 steak well done, and I lit my cigar with 2 $20 bills and served her divorce papers for that sin.
We loved the place! Food, atmosphere, and service was tremendous.
One of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh!
Great food, service and atmosphere! Tried the avocado toast and it was amazing!
The food was not what I was expecting. The atmosphere was fine.
We went for my boyfriend's birthday on Friday. He ordered the burger, which did not have pickles listed on the menu and was very surprised when he bit into it. He despises pickles and it ruined the burger for him and he couldn't even eat it. Every else is listed under the burger except for the pickles. If you're going to put them on the burger then it needs to be added to the menu. The waiter saw that he had only taken one bite out of the burger and didn't ask why. We are too non-confrontational to ask for a new burger. Please add pickles to the menu under the burger.
I’m a regular guest at the Commoner and it’s always a good time.
Wonderful service as always. Amazing drinks every single time. We were there for brunch our food came out so fast, which was awesome because we were headed to yoga.
Went to brunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Really cool ambiance and the food was excellent (especially the crab avocado toast). Definitely recommend
Good experience. Clean, socially distanced, great food, great service.
nice place. great service and the food was excellent .. that being side .. the menu was very limited so it better be. the food presentation was done very well, service was on point. the ambiance was nice. everything about this place screams excellence.. except the menu. she had a burger, I had pork loin. the burger was a little greasy, pork loin was done in an amazing sauce. we split the meatball appetizer. great presentation and done really well. I really just wanted more options on the menu. I believe a lot of it is because we are at the tail end of covid and its hard for restaurants to even stay open atm. so they keep a limited menu to maintain the overhead. we had a few cocktails. all said an done out the door for a little over 100 plus tip.. I will definitely go back again after the menu changes . until then .I think its a one stop wonder worth checking out
Flew in from Georgia to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday!! Great experience!!
Highly overrated. The food was not tasty and was expensive. My quiche was a 👶 size portion for $17. My spouse's 🐥 and waffles tasted like Long John Silver.
The server Jennifer seemed uninterested and inattentive. We had to keep asking for condiments. I won't be back and won't recommend to others.
Breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal by far, and The Commoner is a great brunch option. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict. They do the classic comfort foods really well.
Food is delicious. Friendly and attentive service.
Great spot to enjoy the downtown Pitt 25% off
Great food, great service and even better ambiance. Loved the lamb meatballs and crispy potatoes!
