The Commoner takes great joy in seasonal produce, we suppor local growers and enjoy foraging. The menu evolves daily as the market directs us to the best produce for the evenings service. Food is celebrated from the kitchen through the bar to the table by a host of great staff who are most happy to guide you through everything that is not to be missed! The building is diverse, we serve a wide range of diners and groups seasonal menus from canape to banquet. The front room, courtyard, the private Rabbit Trap and the Long Room are all available to book for events or used on busy lunch and dinner services. The quality of food was exceptional, and service was friendly however a little slow. We had been there 1.5 hours before our main meal was served. Everything was flavourful and delicious!

The restaurant was cozy and intimate without being crowded and noisy. The wait staff were attentive and without being overly attentive and the food all came out at a good pace. All of the food we ordered was delicious (we had cheese and mushroom croquettes, heirloom beetroots with goats cheese, cured cobia, beef cheek and ale pudding). It was comfort food perfectly suited to the winter weather, but with an emphasis on fresh produce which made everything seem light and refined.
