   Over the past two years, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed dining at both The Common Stove and Picnic. We typically visit as a couple and always look forward to the exceptional cuts of beef at The Common Stove—expertly prepared over a wood-fired grill. Last night, we brought a guest to the Sunday seating to try the special Roast Beef dinner, and it did not disappoint. Served medium rare, the roast was tender and flavorful, accompanied by a beautifully puffed Yorkshire pudding reminiscent of a soufflé. The dish was rounded out with heirloom carrots, a touch of horseradish, and rich jus. Every element was delicious, and the meal was perfectly balanced. We ended the night with sticky toffee pudding. Devine.

   The atmosphere was really nice, and the service was very good. Surprisingly, the best dish we had was the grilled carrots in homemade pistachio pesto. They were hands down the best carrots I’ve ever had. Would love to see a couple more vegetarian dinner options to the menu, not just appetizers.

   First time dining there. It will not be our last. I had the little filet and it was the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant! The carrots were amazing, too, and a very generous portion. The service was attentive but not to the point where it was intrusive. Love the decor.

   The best drinking and dining experience north of the GTA, hands down. 5 years in they’re only getting better and the attention to detail is truly unmatched in these parts.

   The diner was amazing...I have been there many times and have always had a great time. I treated 3 other guests to diner... two of which had never been there before. Both raved about the entire experience...Best ever!. It always delivers. The service girl was outstanding as well except for one thing. The bill came to $410. I put $500 cash out and asked for $20 back. She returned without her pleasant demeanour put the change on the table and walked away without a word. We all got up a few moments later and prepared to leave. She never returned to bid us good night or thank us. I served both as a bar tender and as a waiter when I was in my 20's so I understand getting shafted as a server. I did not feel that a $70 cash tip for 1 1/2 hrs service was too short. Money is hard to come by these days and I know restaurants are very happy when I show up with my money and support them. I hope she gets the chance to read this and think about what it means to have customers show up every night to support her and her co workers. Keep up the good work Common Stove...Love it!

    It was our first time at the restaurant which we booked for our anniversary. We were given complimentary glasses of sparkling wine to start which was lovely! We sat at the chef counter where you can watch all the food being prepared. The kitchen staff were super friendly and made amazing food! The menu is meant for sharing for the most part, so we went that route. We ordered the beef tartare to start, then we had squash rings, heirloom carrots, fries and the cowboy ribeye cooked rare. Everything was outstanding and perfectly prepared! Next time we will definitely have to try the scallops, oysters and porterhouse which was excellent as per the couple next to us. Our server Zoe was amazing as well! She had a fun and welcoming personality and was very attentive and knowledgeable. The woman who took over after she left was also amazing and the staff overall were wonderful. The restaurant is lovely and the ambiance is fun yet cozy, which is definitely our vibe. We would highly recommend this restaurant and although it's definitely a splurge, it's worth every penny. We had no complaints and left feeling excited and looking forward to coming back. Thank you everyone at Common Stove for making our anniversary celebration a wonderful time!
