The Colden Mill Restaurant
Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf
brisket/chuck blend, smoky bacon, BBQ glaze, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables
grilled 12oz. NY strip, fresh cut fries, au poivre
curry scented, IPA battered, served w/homemade slaw, mac salad, and hand cut fries
Bacon wrapped meatloaf was a big hit, calamari is one of the best
Excellent outdoor dining; they were VERY accommodating and I felt all social distancing and sanitation guidelines were being followed. I never felt uncomfortable. The food was AMAZING! Very nicely prepared... I loved the butternut squash soup; very different and very well done!
Great food. Great service. We had a great table on the deck with plenty of room between us and the next table. Great view of the creek. Thanks!
The tables are separated nicely. The patio looked like a pretty place to dine but it was raining. I had the grilled romaine salad. It was yummy with the candied bacon. I also had the fried chicken which was raw inside. They took it back to cook longer in the meantime my husband finished most of his meatloaf which he said was okay. I ordered a glass of wine while my meal cooked. Usually when something is wrong with your meal restaurants offer some kind of compensation like a free drink or dessert. Nothing were offered. Fried chicken was good once cooked through.
Wonderfully flavorful food with large portions. Service is always exceptional.
What a quaint and rustically charming place. Everything was perfect from the food, to the waitress and the drinks. We will be back for sure!
It was my 1st time there and it was a very good experience. The service and food were excellent. I would definitely recommend the Colden Mill.
Great food and reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere is different than your typical restaurant in the city
Chef Matt did an excellent job of preparation and presentation. The coconut shrimp and crab cake were amazing! The bacon wrapped meatloaf is outstanding (and will feed 4!) We had a lovely time because the waitstaff wore masks at all times, the tables were spaced well, and all guests when they walked around. These are unusual times and they handle it well.
Great place to have dinner.Owner behind the bar enjoys a good conversation which makes for a start, to great evening.
Food and service are good.
Everything was great! The service, the food, the atmosphere, and everyone was very friendly! We will definitely be back!!
Rebekah, our server, was awesome! The food was delicious, we had a great dinner
The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful!
As a place that we go to often, it was as usual very good. We had three young children with us and they had a nice children’s menu as well as excellent adult entrees. Our server was very attentive and helpful.
Had not dined here in probably 5-6 years. We were well satisfied in every respect with our visit and will return
Always enjoy dining here. Service, variety and quality of food never fails to meet expectations
Disappointed that my steak was overcooked and wasn’t offered anything to make up for it. Paid $28 for a steak I barely ate! Partly my fault because it took a bit to get our food and didn’t want to have to wait again for them to cook another one. Not that the waitress even offered that option, she just apologized and walked away...
We had a great time. With all that is going on in the world, it was nice to finally get out for a top notch meal! The dining room was well spaced out, to only what I can imagine to be half or less then it’s normal capacity. The staff was wearing masks and so were the guests until seated. We were comfortable with everything.
We were pleasantly surprised on everything from the service to the quality and presentation of the food. How have we missed this place all of these years! The waitress said these owner have had it around 5 years and we live with 15 minutes from there. We are so excited to go back again.
The Colden Mill has an up scale atmosphere and food. The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. It is a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but it is a good place for a special occasion
We had a lovely time at the Colden Mill. The food was excellent and the decor and ambiance is worth the drive into the country.
Wonderful restaurant! Really enjoy the quiet atmosphere after a hectic work week. The consistent quality food keeps us coming back.
Last minute reservation was made and we were delighted with the service from server Cameron, manager Chrissie and owner Chuck! Don’t miss the French Onion soup 2 ways ! Coconut shrimp were sweet and savory. Excellent cocktails and conversation ~ lots of room to social distance in a quaint setting! Hats off to Chef Matt!
Thanks Colden Inn !
Always a great meal!
Food was very good, would have given 5 stars but the medium steak was rare.
We love the Colden Mill. Always feels like an extension of our home. Friendly staff. Warm fire. Spectacular food and drinks!
Well done. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening (Valentine's Day) out in a pleasant environment and the food was AWESOME! Thank you Colden Inn
Very nice people all around. Comfortable and extremely relaxing. Food so flavorfull!
Perfect birthday dinner!! I had the Beef Short Rib. Very tender and juicy!! Kudos to the whole staff!!
As always delicious food, great service the best place for a nice night out with my hubby without the kiddos...
The restaurant is very quaint. It has been years since we were there. The food was excellent and the staff was outstanding. We will absolutely go again.
Service was very slow. Used to rave about the french onion soup, this time not so great. Ordered brie, came out tasting like mozarella sticks.
Dining in a quiet country setting in a very home-like-feeling restaurant is quite pleasant. We were able to sit and visit with friends and were well served with plenty of food, drinks, and a good wait staff. We all liked our meals very much (short ribs, eggplant parm, cottage pie, bacon-wrapped meatloaf) and dessert was great, too, (chocolate pecan pie, apple fritters with ice cream, and a chocolate bread pudding.)
We all want to go back again!
New Year’s Eve. Seems like they overbooked like crazy. Ran out of menu items, 50 minute wait. Felt so bad for the server, can’t count how many times she apologized. Food was ok but not accompanied with sides as described. Won’t make the NYE mistake again.
New years eve .... busy. Waitress inexperienced we helped her open wine bottle. "Entree is ready" she declared while we still were eating our salad. Problem arose when held our dinners in kitchen. I ordered medium rare filet while my brother ordered medium well. He received medium well while my steak was overdone.... more than well done. Waitress gave mine to my brother so during hold in kitchen my medium rare became his medium well. his medium well was mistakenly severed to me in cremated state! Figured out what happened.... told waitress and nothing was done to rectify or apologize.
New Year’s Eve dinner at the “Colden Mill” was a nice experience. The decor is what you’d expect at a “mill” which was very comfortable and cozy. The service was great especially since it was a busy night and we were up in the loft. The food was good, not great, but good. The creamy onion soup was very delicious. I liked it better than the traditional one and loved the way the soups were served in a divided bowl. I would go again in the summertime to sit out on the patio overlooking the creek!
Great food as slwsys
Nice atmosphere, but limited menu, overpriced food. Fish Fry for 17.50? Batter was dry with no taste, half a cup of coleslaw and chewy bow tie pasta. Kids meal was 12.50 for a cheeseburger and fries? Fries were soggy and limited like all the sides. Waitress was ok, but could have been more attentive. Reviews confused us on here. Many better options and better quality food in the area. Only good thing was the bread. Surprised they are in business with the prices, quality, and service or lack thereof.
Food was delectable and the presentation was nice. Staff were all friendly and helpful. It was a very enjoyable evening
My steak was delicious and tender and the grilled veggies were perfect. Hats off to Chuck and the Chef.
Had a great time at dinner but my sweet potato fries were awful. Would definitely go back though.
