Lovely lunch for a friend's catch-up. It was busy with lots of customers which was great to see. The food was yummy. 2 of us ordered the Cullen Skink, which although very flavoursome, was a very thin/runny soup, and unfortunately the squid ink bread was very dry. Our other choices were delicious. Will come again.

Booked for our parents 80th as we’ve eat here before and loved it then. The staff were great and the food was fantastic. We’re from Northampton and will always try and eat there when we’re up in Berwick visiting

Lovely dinner with our 3 kids who were also made very welcome. We also stayed in the apartment above which was so handy and again great for a family of 5. Only slight disappointment was that the food/specifically Lauder Rib-eye steak and home made sour dough whilst really good, was not as jaw-dropping amazing as we’d had a when chancing upon the Cobbles a year ago and which had made us come back again. But a brilliant ‘stopover’ on the way to Edinburgh. Great service and lovely beer too!

Food very good, but not excellent. Some bone in the haddock pate, fish and chips with curry sauce very good, burger okay. Wish we didn't have burgers on brioche, as the de facto. (Always find this option to be a little sickly.) Service a little formal, and, on this occasion a little irritating. Asked for a bitter, and was told that "we do things a little differently in Scotland; we have locally brewed ales". Since I have lived in Scotland for 18 years (I am English), and have often had locally-brewed bitters, I thought this comment to be a high-brow put down to an English tourist. Not a deal-breaker, just irritating. Overall, pretty good, but not outstanding.

Outstanding! Phenomenal meal choice for those with a particular diet. I had the Beetroot and Buratta Risotto - amazing! The service is fantastic, a warm and welcoming atmosphere and you can enjoy your meal without being rushed. Fantastic!

We really enjoyed our visit to Cobbles. The food and drink were excellent and staff could not have been more helpful. The only thing we would ask is that perhaps there could be a little more choice on the menu.

We have eaten at The Cobbles before and enjoyed it so when we knew we were coming to Kelso I booked again. We had come for a birthday weekend and wanted a nice place to eat. It didn’t let us down. The food was superb. The service was excellent and the surroundings great. Very cosy. We will definitely come again. It’s a gem of a place,

In Kelso for the weekend we tried The Cobbles and had a really good evening. The food was better than we expected and there was a lot going on - but it felt fun - not too noisy or crowded.

Visited regularly for a few years and have never had a negative experience. Professional, friendly staff, who remember us. Delicious food, beautifully presented. Good, and slightly different choices for non meat eaters like us which is a refreshing change from many establishments. Whether having lunch or dinner, it's always excellent.

Excellent surroundings and very welcoming. Quiet as it was a Sunday evening. Nice to find somewhere open Sunday evening. Food was lovely, couldn’t fault it and very good value. Will definitely be visiting next time we’re in Kelso. Will recommend it to friends and family.

Sadly the food was really not great, the starters were pretty good, though squid ink bread dry and tasteless, the mains were poor other than mussels which were good, the lamb was nice but all veg slughtly cold and over cooked, dreadful Yorkshire pudding, flat as a pancake and over cooked, the steak pie was also overcooked and the meet tough, so sadly not the meal we expected. Previous food there was great so disappointed but maybe a Sunday evening issue, it felt like we had the days left over Sunday Lunch reheated. Should probably have said but did not want to cause trouble as was a birthday meal etc, we were all disappointed re food. Staff are lovely and very pleasant place.

I love this place. The food is outstanding and varied to suit all tastes. I tend to always go for the fish option (menus changes often but follows usual template) and it is always superb. Other dishes are fantastic too ...they must have a great chef and team. Barman is always busy and courteous and attentive. Great place.

We enjoyed our Sunday roast so much that we returned on a week day evening for he early supper menu, which was excellent value for money! Can highly recommend the fish and chips with their homemade tartar sauce curry sauce! For dessert, try the 'lemon meringue pie' which is a much lighter dessert and their interpretation of it, delicious! The sticky date pudding also recommended. From start to finish, staff are super friendly, welcoming and polite and apologise when they think they've kept you waiting, even though they don't!! A very comfortable atmosphere, cannot find fault with anything!! Just go and try it!
