Located in the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, on Rother Street, it boasts over 475-years of history between its characterful walls. Recently refurbished, the welcoming décor pays tribute to Stratford’s most famous former resident, William Shakespeare as well as incorporating a nod to its owners, the historic Brewing House, Davenports which was established in 1829. You can expect great ales, whilst the attractive central bar is well-stocked with popular spirits and boasts a super cocktail menu which are freshly prepared to order. Choose to dine in the comfy snug or around one of the tables indoors, there’s also a wonderful garden terrace with heaters to the rear, and alfresco tables on warmer days to the front of the pub. The food menu never fails to impress, with a focus on quality, locally sourced ingredients.

Everything was great. Sunday roast was superb with a sizable portion. Service was great and the beer tasty.

Overall it was nice meal and the pub was friendly, but the lamb had gristle in it and the mash was a little dry. Atmosphere was good, they have live music every Friday, but there was a group of 6 people who came in, they were extremely loud, some of the conversations were rude and they wanted the whole pub to hear. It ruined it a little. But that's not the pubs fault. Food not too expensive and quite a bit on the menu.

Brilliant food and service. The pie was incredible and we were able to take advantage of the Monday to Friday 2 for 20 offer! Fantastic value. Will definitely return.

Great Sunday Lunch. Table of 4 for family gathering. Food arrived quickly, portions were impressive. Very tasty - especially chicken and selection of veggies. Prices are competitive. Quite busy but surprisingly not too loud. Staff really welcoming. We will definitely go again in the future

There was a bloke in there because Rangers and Celtic were playing shouting and swearing which wasn’t very good but it was okay. Had a hustle with the kids menu. Nothing could arrive because they hadn’t ordered it from the main brewery but the ladies were brilliant ended up making our day given the kids free pudding and sorting a fish and chips out for my little boy But yeah, great atmosphere in the end would go again

A fun local pub with good food and bar options. Lively and welcoming, friendly staff and quaint setting. We enjoyed ourselves.
