First of all, the GPS took us to the wrong location. It brought us to a group of homes that a quarter of a mile in front of the restaurant. Once we found the restaurant, we were concerned because there was no apparent parking near by. Things got even more concerning when there was only one other table occupied when we arrived at 7:30.
Our server was a little too friendly and exuberant. The wine list was limited. We assumed this was going to be a bad night.
we were wrong.
Food was really good and the venue was perfect for our celebration.
Not sure I will return, we were in Ohio for a friend that was leaving. But it was a memorable evening.
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. Matt and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. I changed my reservation numbers just the day before, and he took it all in stride, making it a very nice experience for us.
Surprised by the limited choices, however, all five chose a different entree and were very pleased. Delicious flavor.
Food was good. Prices were right. Service was spectacular.
Great place to eat especially if you want to talk to your companion(s).
I was looking for a restaurant for a graduation celebration with my family and found the Coach House. Don't let the location fool you! It is located in a senior living community, but it is open to everyone!
I think the best part of our experience was the staff. Matt, the manager, spent time telling us about the flavor and sometimes the history of all of the beers and wines on menu. He answered all of our questions and helped us pick great drinks and entrees. Our server, Susan, was also very sweet and patience!
The food was excellent and very artfully crafted. There are options for those who want more casual food like a burger or fish and chips, as well as dinner specials like steak and salmon for fancier occasions. Each member of our party ordered something different and we enjoyed tasting all of the flavors in each dish.
This would be an ideal place for a leisurely meal with a more quiet atmosphere!
Specials were very very good
I was unaware that this restaurant is located in a retirement community. My guests thought I had brought them to the dining hall at an assisted living facility! Somewhat embarrassing. That being said, our waitress was very pleasant and competent.
My wife and I were unaware the restaurant was located in a retirement community. It is actually located adjacent to an assisted living facility. It appears to be a nice community but it was hardly the atmosphere we were expecting for a celebratory birthday dinner. The food was good and the serving staff was pleasant and competent. I feel somewhat mislead by how the restaurant was promoted in their ads.
Our first time dining at The Coach House, and we were both very impressed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere we received. The waitress was very helpful in offering food and wine suggestions, and each of our dishes were very well prepared and tasty. We also went ahead and enjoyed a very good dessert since everything else had been so good. We will certainly find our way back here again soon.
We enjoyed our dinner and the music was wonderful. We went because a friend had given us a gift certificate.
It was as the Easter Brunch and everything was really very good. We tried it on last minute and everyone left happy and very full!
Greeted when we arrived. Table was ready service was prompt and lunch well prepared
St Patrick’s Day dinner and beer tasting the Coach House and the Municipal Brewery. Great food and local beer.
A great hidden Gem in Hamilton! Staff was very nice and welcoming and food was fantastic! Will certainly be back!
Branzini preparation and presentation was excellent. We also enjoyed the fish and chips as always. Best “fish fry “ in Hamilton.
Food and wine selection was small but all of the choices were excellent. A bit off the beaten path, but great for a romantic adventure. Food cooked to perfection. Found a new favorite dessert wine. Service was exceptional. We felt very welcomed.
The food was VERY good and the service was very good also. I will say the portion sizes were a bit small but the food was very good.
Great service and food. All the staff is very attentive to customer satisfaction.
Unexpectedly good - recommend the Fish-Chips and the Short Rib in Pasta. Wine selection is above average for Hamilton OH. Ambiance is very nice without being pretentious. Wait staff are spot on - no hovering or excess chat. All in all, would return!
This is a fabulous little gem. The food was superb! Nice and quiet with great service. This is one of those special places that you hope stays busy except when you come for dinner. 8-) The chef excellence that is happening here is very welcomed. Don't be confused or deterred by its location in Berkeley Square in Hamilton. All in all it is very charming and we look forward to dinner on the patio. The Coach House delivers on a great dining experience and we will be back for more.
Great food, super staff and the bartender makes a great Manhattan! We could even talk to each other.
The music was awesome I was with two 20 something’s and they loved it too.
Fun night out!
My short rib pappardelle was greasy and the noodles were dried out as though they had sat for a long while. Hubby’s salmon was ok. Not very impressive overall.
Great food, wonderful staff - always a great experience!
Business lunch, menu choices for all, well prepared In and out in timely manner
A small but curated menu with great ingredients and unique flavor combinations. The sweet potato ravioli was AMAZING.
Although this restaurant was not quite what we expected (i.e., we did not know it was part of a planned community), it nevertheless turned out to be just what we needed. The large fireplace made things cozy. There were not many tables and not all of them were full, so we could hear each other easily, unlike some of the places we have frequented before. Our server was excellent. All in all we loved the choices on the menu and all of us loved our meals. We would give this place an enthusiastic thumbs up!
Always fabulous! The food is always wonderful as well. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go!
Staff is very friendly and respectful. The food was delicious.
You don't need to have an extensive menu when you know what you are doing. I like that The Coach House maintains favorites and also occasionally offers something new. The restaurant is beautiful, cozy, and quiet. The staff is both friendly and attentive. The food is imaginative and excellent!
Great dinner, wonderful staff - always a great experience!
Great soup and great bread. Excellent service. Live music, subdued, as I preferred. I would desire steak fries, not shoestring fries. Good presentation.
I could not recommend this place enough! My friend and I drove into the community, and while we weren't sure what to expect, there was plenty of signage to direct us where to go. The food, from starters to dessert, along with the wine selection was fantastic! The staff went above and beyond to make our visit memorable and enjoyable. Towards the end of our meal, it started to rain, and a staff member gave us an umbrella to get to the car and then met us at the car pick up point to gather the borrowed umbrella. Top notch all the way around, we will DEFINITELY be visiting again!
Our first time dining at the Coach House, and we were very impressed! The food was delicious, and our server, Danielle, was very engaged, professional and knowledgeable about the menu-overall a great experience!
Looking for a fine dining option before a night in Oxford, Open Table had presented the option of The Coach House. I was very unfamiliar with it, but I did come across an article in the Journal News describing its head chef as a Jean Robert alum, including time at The Maisonette and Pigall's. Dinner was very good, excellently prepared (wife ordered the filet medium well and it was executed perfectly). We had the baked brie, pecan-crusted pork chop, and the chocolate lava cake for dessert. The menu itself had numerous staples and despite Chef Jared's pedigree, the menu was very accessible. My pork chop had a nice risotto and carrot puree.
The restaurant's atmosphere was a bit unexpected. The location itself appears to be a senior community. There was no real hostess stand and the restaurant appeared divided into multiple named rooms. Even at 5:30, we began to see more people come in, including families and non-retirees. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a community clubhouse. Not bad, but not exactly romantic if that's what you're looking for in a "fine dining" establishment. Rustic.
Would definitely go back.
We went for parents weekend from Miami University. We did not know it was in a community living development. Pleasantly surprised. Good service. Filet was great , apple salad, roasted chicken breast and meatloaf all very good. Creme brulee for dessert was lovely.
Excellent service, great food, nice place. Will def be back!
Great place - a true hidden gem.
New England clam chowder, fish and chips, followed by bread pudding; and all presented promptly and properly executed. This place is Hamilton's best kept secret.
