Loved the Clasic Salad, butternut squash risotto fabulous, blue crab with creamed boursin cheese on steak wonderful. Service was great.
Prompt, personal recommendations and diligent service, amazing background music, wonderful food. Bartender personally delivered his delectable concoctions with a word and a smile. Anytime we are remotely close to Roanoke, we will be back.
Great waiter, great food, general manager filled our water glasses and asked if I wanted my bake potato heated up a little more after I was halfway done with it. Unheard of In today's world.
We had a lovely evening at The Classic. I loved the quiet acoustic guitar music, the perfectly crafted custom drinks from the bar, warm, sophisticated service, and delicious food. Also, Francis called ahead of time to give us a head’s up that parking may be tight due to a parade route going past the restaurant, but assured us that we could just pull up to the front of the building and they would take it from there. Excellent, thoughtful touch! Everyone at The Classic is wonderful, as is the food.
The Classic is a consistently excellent restaurant.
The Classic Café in Roanoke is one of our "go-to" restaurants when we want to go upscale without having to over do it. The food is amazing which is coupled with excellent service in a fantastic, quant environment. The menu has a nice variety without overwhelming you with too many options. The Chef is a true talent.
Always a treat never disappointed...as true with friends I bring to the Classic.
Thanks to Curtis and Chris for continuing to offer a special place for lunch or dinner in the area!
Our family enjoyed a delicious dinner at The Classic Cafe. The food was on point, the cocktails superb and the service seamless. Always a lovely evening!
Outstanding service and amazing food!!
Such a great experience. Food was amazing. Chef Charles does not disappoint. Service is always second to none and our most recent dinner was no exception. My favorite place for all our special occasions.
The food and service is consistently great here. I have never had a bad or average dinner. It has always been outstanding. The roasted garlic appetizer is awesome.
Love this place for our special occasion dinners. The staff is very attentive and the food is amazing!
Such a wonderful dinner - fabulous evening!
Took a coworker for a birthday lunch. We placed a light order although the menu is spectacular! As well as the wine list!
We were not made to feel inferior because of only ordering appetizer and drank water. Service was the same as if we had ordered the most expensive things on the menu. I appreciated that since many places lose interest once they don’t think they’ll get a big tip.
We will definitely be back and enjoy the finer things on the menu when we do t have to return to work!
I've been visiting The Classic for many, many years. It's been a favorite lunch spot for me to take clients to. The food is NEVER disappointing, the wine list is very good, and service is reasonable. As I've moved further North, I hadn't been there in quite a while, so I was pleasantly surprised that the standards haven't slipped. We had a delicious meal, with excellent wine, and went home full and happy; what more could you ask? :-)))
As always this restaurant excels. The service is excellent and the food will not disappoint.
Excellent food. The service was just as good. It’s a nice restaurant, but it has the ugliest art I’ve ever seen. That is the comment of many diners. The same pieces hanging on the wall, all for sale, as they have been for the last seven or eight years. If you can or ignore the art, you can have a great time
We spent our Anniversary and, as always, everything was SPECTACULAR! Great atomosphere, romantic, AWESOME food and there is no better service anywhere!
This is our favorite restaurant...period!
Thank you Classic Cafe!!!!
Not up to their usual standards. They lost our order. Took hour and a half to get our dinner.
Outstanding meal -- excellent food, lovely ambience, and superb service. Fine dining without the pretentiousness or exorbitant prices.
We LOVE this place, but this time the food was disappointing. We both selected from the Octoberfest menu, and that may have been the reason—they had to prepared these dishes in quantity, and that didn't help the quality at all. I had the Jaeger schnitzel and my husband had the sauerbraten. The Jaeger schnitzel wasn't anything special, with a tiny bit of (slightly overcooked) spaetzle. The Jaeger sauce was delicious, but there was very little of it—one piece of schnitzel was completely dry. My husband's sauerbraten was surprisingly bland. The potato & sausage soup was good, but the apple strudel was limp, dry, and not worth the calories.
This is our anniversary and birthday place, so we'll be back. But we'll never order from the prix fixe menu again.
The food was exceptional. My filet was cooked to perfection. The food was delightful to the palate with the right balance of flavors, nothing overpowering, just perfect. We could not decide on a dessert and went with the dessert sampler; all three were delicious but our favorite was the Texas sheet cake with Railean rum-spiced pecans and home-made ice cream. The experience made our anniversary celebration extra special. Thank you Chef Charles, Francis, Curtis, and our server, Daniella for making our evening memorable.
Always lovely and great birthday celebration. Food and atmosphere awesome.
Needs a new interesting menu ! Priced pretty high for the choices including sides. Went to wildwood grill the following night and it was far superior . Third time in a row the steak was over cooked. Polenta and red cabbage getting boring as sides.
I look for great foods but seldom do I just rave about the food. But the meal we had at the Classic Restaurant in Roanoke last evening certainly merits a rave! The Restaurant is celebrating its connections to family traditions that date back into the 1880s with a special Octoberfest menu package of Bavarian recipes. I had the Jaegerschnitzel (Some of the best I have ever had.) with a bacon-mushroom sauce served with Spaetzle and Sweet and Sour Cabbage. Dinah had the Potato-crusted rainbow Trout with Lemon Aioli. The package desert was Apple Strudel served with Salty Dog Ice Cream and Vanilla Anglaise and WOW!. The starter was a potato and sausage soup which was some of the best soup I have ever tasted. We were eating out on a lark and expecting another "package meal" that most restaurants serve. What we found was a culinary treasure with each part better than the last and all were treats to the palate that one could only find in the best of German restaurants that we have visited. With all the commercial attempts at "celebrating German" I would suggest taking advantage of the Classic Restaurant in Roanoke and their family German Octoberfest that will last all this month. You will be in for a wonderful treat and a very good price of $39!
Been going for years and it is steadily getting worse. $260 for 4 with no alcohol was a joke. Service was non existent. 45 minutes from salad to entree. Won’t be back.
Again, my favorite restaurant in Roanoke. We had great, welcoming service. The menu plus daily specials are wonderful. I had jaegerschnitzel again, served with spaetzel, which was amazingly tender and flavorful. Make your reservation - you will be delighted.
A bit pricey, but most plates were tasty and seemed well executed. Good wine list. Friendly staff. Special occasion destination.
This was a date night with the wife and we hadn't been in several years. It was just as good as we remembered. Oktoberfest menu was incredible for myself and my wife's steak was well prepared.
Service was top notch.
It is still one of the hidden gems of Roanoke.
Chef Charles never disappoints and Francis makes sure that everything is perfect!
Overall food was good just overpriced
The service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Not sure if I will go back it’s a one-timer for me. They need a Happy Hour menu!! There drinks are over-priced when you can goto Trulucks HH and get top shelf spirits for $6
First time eating quail, very flavorful, with a southwest tomato soup, rich & mildly spicy... all good. Pleasant wait staff. Tucked away in an old house in what I suspect was/is a farm town.
The food and service is always excellent. I also love the slower pace and quieter atmosphere. Great for a more intimate dining experience.
Lovely decor and service. Food coming out lukewarm, but tasty. Quite expensive for the quality of food, but not for quality of service.
Excellent food and service for both dinner and lunch. Consistently for us .....the best restaurant in northeast Tarrant county for over 20 years.
The finest service anywhere! Every single employee goes out of their way to make you feel special.
The Jaegerschnitzel is a must try.
Outstanding restaurant! The menu is diverse and the chef is very talented. The Classic has its own vegetable garden so many of the specials incorporate the freshest seasonal veggies. The chef is creative yet really delivers a top-notch steak or fresh fish. We enjoyed live guitar music and the staff is wonderful.
Back room with mirrors on the wall is very noisy. You cannot have a conversation without shouting.
Snapper dish was not my favorite. Service was excellent as always!
The meal was excellent!!! The service was exceptional. Expensive ( with the bar bill) but with the great food and excellent service it is worth it!!!
