The Classic Cafe at Roanoke
Always Great. Love this place, owners and staff. Perfect date night.
We dine here often. Francis always makes the dining experience awesome. The food is always amazing Chef Charles is Great. If you want Great food in a quaint cozy setting go see Francis at the Classic
Spectacular as always! We had the specials, which are always interesting.
Love this place!!! The food is excellent and the Management and Staff make yo feel special. Would highly recommend
Grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. We have ordered the crab cakes in pst and they were OK. However, someone was turned loose with spices hard to taste the crab.
We had a lovely evening for a birthday celebration at the Classic Cafe. We all agreed that we will have to return so that we can try some more of the Chef's entrees. We had read that the steaks were the best ever, so all 4 of us ended up ordering steak. They were the BEST ever! I purchased a wine tasting gift card for the "birthday girl", and she is excited to sample some more of your wines. Curtis was very helpful before & during dinner regarding the wine gift card. See you soon!
Son -in-law leaving for graduate school.
Had a wonderful time, the food was excellent. I had the ribeye, probably the best steak I ever had
Good food, but you will wait.
Our food took over 1 & 1/2 hours to come. That said, the food was good when it finally did come. I would not recommend this place unless you are intending to devote your whole evening to eating.
Phenomenal place to have conversation and an excellent meal with great cocktails and a diverse wine selection. My wife and I have dined here two times so far and the service has been excellent along with many great dishes. The appetizers have been incredible on both occasions and we love their classic salad! As for the entrees, the first time I had the rack of lamb which I highly recommend. The second time I had the beef tenderloin feature. The piece of meat was exactly what you’d expect, the meat was cooked to perfection, and my only opportunistic feedback was, the meat was seasoned a little heavy with pepper for my liking. And I love my steaks prepared simple, mostly with just olive oil, salt, and pepper. And typically, I go heavy on pepper, but maybe it was just the fresh ground type of pepper they used. Overall, it’s a fantastic place that isn’t a typical chain restaurant. We love a good local environment and the attention to detail you find in a small, locally owned, and passionately proud venue. We’ll go back many, many times!!
We anticipated going here for our anniversary dinner based on ratings and reputation, but instead were very disappointed. We were given paper menus that were wrinkled and looked about 5 years old. Had to ask for the wine list. Brie appetizer was tasty, but crackers were dry and old. The wait for dinner to be served was inordinately long, then someone came to tell us the kitchen had lost our order. Really? A glass of wine was offered, but we chose not to drink more. None of the other drinks on the bill were comped, nor did a manager come to the table to apologize. All in all, not special and anniversaries should definitely make you feel as though the date was important. (Yes, they knew we came to celebrate.)
Also, one unisex bathroom for entire restaurant. Not a good idea either.
Never going back.
For a special occasion, the food cannot be beat. We had Salmon and Lamb, and both were excellent.
The best service, food and drinks we’ve found in the area by far. Always an enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly and attentive. The dishes are made using vegetables and herbs from their garden and other seasonal ingredients.. can’t get anymore flavorful or fresh than that! Definitely try the nutty Irish weed cocktail!
From the time we entered, everything was perfect. We come here often and several staff always visit with us. We were celebrating an anniversary and we were seated in a quiet room away from the more populated room. The server was very friendly, had recommendations if we needed them and was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. The sommelier stopped by our table to say hello. The food was excellent, we both enjoyed the pan asian sauce topped salmon. The wine was delicious as was our dessert. We loved it all and as usual, this restaurant never fails. Highly recommend!
Another delicious dinner at the Classic! It continues to be a favorite for the food, atmosphere, and hospitality.
The table next to us had ten folks. Once they left the noise level was enjoyable. The guitar music was fun.
The food -as always - was quite good.
Go enjoy. Drink heartily and eat unashamedly.
Great wine selection. Talk to Francis. Had rainbow trout that was delicious
We went to Classic Cafe with my mom and grandmother for Mother's Day brunch and just had the most wonderful time. A 3-course meal was provided for $40 a person, and the food was amazing. The portions were alright (for example, my mother's plate only had 3 green beans on it, but the other courses were filling enough to where it didn't matter). We really enjoyed the ambiance and our experience! Thank you to the wonderful wait staff and hostesses for making our visit so enjoyable.
I took my mom to The Classic Cafe - Roanoke for her birthday dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The owner was very inviting and friendly, our server (Jeff) was extremely knowledgeable and friendly as well, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere/decor was super comfortable and lovely. We will definitely be back.
Chicken was dry and tough. Steak medallions were way overcooked, but Curtis sent back to kitchen after we complained. Brie appetizer and tomato soup were spot on. Love this restaurantunt but wish entrees had been better.
Cute place. Great food. Good service. Pricey but nice for a special occasion. Wasn't happy with the noise level though.
Always a great meal, service and ambiance. One of our favorite restaurants!!
We celebrated Mother’s Day at The Classic Cafe. Lovely evening. Our server, Jeff, was great. Try the trout and the crab cakes. And don’t pass on the Chocolate Old Fashioned. Nicely done. We’ll be heading back!
Hidden gem! Truly one of the best dining experiences you will find in DFW. We absolutely love the Classic Cafe. The food in a word is phenomenal!!
Went as a pre-mothers day dinner with the kids. Food was amazing, very attentive service staff! As my son said “very unexpected”.
Have eaten at Classic Cafe several times over the years.... Service has always been excellent, and the food has always been excellent..... First time dining on a Friday at Classic Cafe... Had the Tile fish special..... Seemed to be undercooked. )Tough and rubbery) Usually we are able to dine and have a conversation.... Noise level was very loud throughout the cafe, making conversation almost impossible... Maybe it's a Friday thing... Usually dine here during the week or on a Saturday... First time we have left disappointed.... Don't know if cook staff is new or has changed, but something is wrong.... Our waiter and service staff was great.... Will give it another try in the future...
From the chef's Garden to the restaurant to the servers and management everything was an awesome experience. Not only was the food outstanding but I was also pleasantly surprised when I got the bill. This restaurant gets 5 stars and I would definitely recommend it
NIce, quiet restaurant. Excellent appetizers. Big wine list. Limited menu.
Unfortunately, the main entrees did not equal the excellent ambiance. The beef medallions were good but not great and were, for my taste, over-seasoned. The fish that my wife ordered was barely warm and, once again, over-seasoned. One of our side dishes arrived late and was also heavily seasoned. It seems that the chef, on this night, was heavy on red pepper flakes. Even the oil for the bread caused me to reach for a glass of water immediately.
Overall, I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the staff is very pleasant and accommodating. And the food is definitely prepared by an actual chef. The plates all look very nice but sadly, for me, the taste falls short.
Salmon with Snap Peas and Mashed Potatoes - Great
Bread and olive oil - Great
Iced tea - Great
Chicken - Nope, it was tough and lacking flavor
Noise level - Unexpectedly loud for no more people than were there
This darling place is my favorite in the area. Food is fabulous, never disappoints and I adore Frances.
We have dined at Classic Cafe multiple times and this visit, as always, was excellent. Everything from the warm inviting greeting as one enters the restaurant, to the waitstaff, to the food is among the best one can experience in the Metroplex.
The food was excellent, as usual. Our server (can’t remember her name, but she had just returned from maternity leave) really contributed to making this birthday celebration for my friend special.
I am always very pleased when I dine at the Classic in Roanoke. The food has very high quality and the service is always excellent.
Everything was great except for my steak I asked for medium rare and it ended up being well well done, very very dry.
Excellent food and service. Food could have been a little hotter
Has been a favorite for over 15 years. It is just as god now as it was then.
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. Thank you Julie and Frances for making this a most enjoyable evening with friends.
Our visit was fantastic. Curtis, Francis, and our server Skye took amazing care of us. Their recommendations were spot on, the food was delicious, and it was the perfect way to celebrate my husband's birthday.
A real gem hidden in plain sight. Give this a try if you like fresh and local ingredients and amazing dishes. The chef is a master!
