The City Beer Hall
We went both Saturday and Sunday for the Biggie Smalls commemorative brunch. Sunday was much better than Saturday. There was a DJ and the music, vibe and food were energetic and thematic. The menu was very creative: T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch's grape Mimosas. If you are a fan of rap, you would enjoy. For all others, I don't think they noticed. :-) I will mark my calendar for next year.
Great service and good food. Can't beat the location to TCU.
Awesome food and drink !!! The service was top notch. A perfect spot to have a dinner and drink or a Mother’s Day brunch :) Both the food and beer menus were on point !! Will definitely make CBH a top choice from here on out ... cheers 🍻
Excellent find in downtown Albany! So glad they take reservations. We had a party of 9 today after our daughter's commencement ceremony for her Master's Degree at the Times Union Center and it was a short walk there. Ariana assisted me with not only changing the number in my party, but also our reservation time, when I called last week. We were about 20 minutes early to our reservation today and thought we'd have to wait, but the hostess was genuinely happy to see us and showed us our table immediately! Our server Brad today was FANTASTIC, super attentive but not annoying which is hard to come by in servers. Completely accomodating in a very relaxed manor and the brunch menu was AWESOME! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Had a great time and we had wonderful service on a very busy packed night
Great pre-concert restaurant..food was good
I had heard City Beer Hall had a good brunch and they did not disappoint. Good food that is very reasonably priced.
At a business conference. Restaurant was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Excellent food and beer...selection of good wine as well. Good service. Highly recommend
Service was great. Long communal tables offer a lively atmosphere. Liked the pizza token idea. Beer tap list needs a couple more IPAs. Food was very good, inventive pub food with a lot of interesting options.
A very nice place with interesting beers on tap and an eclectic & ethnic menu. Only downside for my wife and me ( 70+) was noise level made conversation a challenge. Also, parking can be tuff.
One of our favorite local haunts, The City Beer Hall is so much more than its name implies. We go for the food (and table service) as much as for the beer. Ben was again our charming and efficient waiter. He kept tabs on us as we dined, and he never let my coffee cup run dry. My wife enjoyed a couple of cold stouts from the outstanding beer menu. For an early dinner today, we selected the Sprung salad, Lamb sliders, and a terrific Fabada with scallops plate. The small pizzas that come with the beer were a nice supplement to our meal. In fact we should have saved room for dessert, as the sushi-rice pudding sounded wonderful, so next time we will be more judicious about pizza snacks. In any case, as always, we are already looking forward to strolling down from our place on Lark Street. The City Beer Hall has such a cozy atmosphere, perfect for just a drink, of for a meal, watching the game at the bar, or sitting with family and friends at the casual "picnic" tables. A perfectly enjoyable experience every time!
AWESOME Game of Thrones brunch! Yes, it was really busy and really loud, but that was to be expected. Food was amazing. Really great time!
Excellent experience. Great service.
All of the food we had was awesome, butternut squash soup with coconut, burgers, green tea rissotto, etc.
Great! Good service and excellent food.
Awesome brunch, great location, excellent beer menu, super friendly staff...highly recommend
Love the atmosphere of City Beer hall. Can’t wait to return. :)
The ancient grain bowl and Beer Hall Burger were both excellent!!
Fantastic experience: food, ambient, service, just great!
I would recommend on the beer selection. They have updated their menu from the last time that I came and it was not what I was craving. The food was not bad, just didn't satisfy me.
Don’t the regular menu. 1 of 3 meals were really good
Great beer selection, delicious food, and the building is absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect choice for a casual date.
As named, this is a beer hall, with excellent variety of craft beers, a very creative and delicious menu, and excellent and knowledgeable service. I would definitely go again and would recommend it, but not on the evening of a concert or basketball game at the nearby Times Union Center. Could hardly have a conversation across the table (which was also too close to the support pillar near the bar, so was constantly bumped by bar patrons moving around). Overall a good place for pub food and a beer.
Everyone was very friendly and pleasant. I especially appreciated my server because she took a lot of time helping me choose a beer based on what I like. Then she did the same with the food. She knew the menu inside and out. And the food was wonderful. They had all the usual pub food but done with a “twist” and lots of vegan and vegetarian options which was unexpected for a pub. I’ll go here whenever I’m in town!
The winter menu was very good. I appreciate the variety of vegetarian options.
Food was delicious! A little crowded, but to be expected for New Year's Day brunch. Millennial crowd. we were the oldest people there. Should advertise to a more diverse crowd.
Hangover brunch on a Tuesday! It was delightful and the food is always superb. We see Olivia often as our server and she’s always great.
Went before seeing comedy show at the Egg, we got seated right near the gas fireplace, great spot and excellent service tasty beers!
there were several nice running around on the floor, which we did point out to the waitress. who also saw them. they were out of several popular food items by 5pm. and they app we order we not any good. I couldn't eat it really. would not recommend them.
Great find while in town for a concert. Food was pretty good. Service was excellent. If you bought a craft beer, you got a ticket for a mini pizza. Very nice touch. Burger was delicious. Would go back just for that!
Super loud and crowded before a concert, as expected. Service and food was good.
Great food and lively atmosphere. Very delicious food and entrees. The cheese and fruit plate was a great starter and the burger was cooked perfectly.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and service at City Beer Hall on our recent visit to ALBANY. The food was so unique and the restaurant was close to downtown.
Busy night. Staff was very efficient and attentive. Food was delicious. Looking forward to going back soon!
Loved it and was totally pleasantly surprised at the menu.
Great brunch specials. Both my wife and my meals were delicious. Server was friendly and quick. My beer and my wife's Bloody Mary were included, great deal!
I’ve been to The City Beer Hall three times now, I’ve had the same server twice. Every time we go, it’s a lovely atmosphere with welcoming staff. The entres are more on the expensive side, it’s not like you’re going there for fast food service. But the value of what you get is absolutely worth it. Brunch is incredible.
Aside from the 2 cute mice we saw on the patio and the awful “fruit smoothie” the place was pretty good.
I come every Sunday for brunch and constantly suggest this place to others. The staff is always welcoming and friendly.
