   Very good food, fresh and beautifully presented. Just right portion sizes. We had grouse terrine and beetroot salad for starter followed by brill and venison. All delicious including the veg. Good service too, thank you Jasmine and thank you to Luke and his team.

   What a wonderful dining experience. We were greeted and looked after in such a professional and helpful way. My good allergies, had been taken into account, as the chef had gone through the menu, indicating what was definitely OK and what could be adapted. The food was fabulous and beautifully presented. Delicious at every course. Thank you.

   Absolutely first-class food, served in a friendly and helpful ambience. We particularly appreciated the free canapes served before the main course and the intermediate nibbles before the dessert. Though on the expensive side, we would thoroughly recommend the dinner here and hope to return next year.

   Warm friendly impeccable service. 'Free' amuse bouche a nice touch though triangular things tasteless, marmite butter a revelation. Small choice but interesting menu. Husband's scallops with hint of Thai worked well. My terrine came with no toast or bread so not sure how one was supposed to eat it. So cold as almost tasteless. Venison perfectly cooked as was the brill. Lack of vegetables and even suitable choice as an extra vegetable disappointing. ' Free' after main course should be a palate cleanser in preparation for dessert. It was not that though it was nicely made and creamy. Cheese board not too exciting but with interesting pickled walnut, chutney and jam thing though it needed more cheese to go with it. Interesting crackers with cheese. It was a wet Monday night so only two other tables taken so peaceful dinner with much appreciated white linen.

   We ate on Thursday night in November. No one in the restaurant so we opted for the bar area which had very basic furnishings but some diners. Food was excellent but portions on the small side. However little pre course dishes made up for this. Service was friendly and well paced. In summary food and service great, ambience disappointing.
