The Church House Inn is a pub nestled in the heart of the village of Harberton near Totnes, south Devon. We serve honest food, fine wine and local ales. the building was built roughly 1450 and has been an inn/ pub ever since, bosting one of the most amazing rooms you will have ever been in for a pint or hearty meal, draped in history and character.

Our food menu changes daily and with the seasons. We serve straight forward food, using traditionally cooking techniques. Produce is sourced from the local area of the beautiful Devon countryside and fishing town of Brixham. please visit our website for our most current menu.
we also have a games room for pool and darts, and a heathy sided bar witch we keep for drinkers.

The food was over priced, the menu was difficult and in no way accommodated children or vegetarians , and the large beautiful dining room was almost empty even on Father’s Day lunch time! Overall, disappointing. Although the food was good it would have seemed much better if it was half the price.

We had a great evening with a meal for three, beautiful old pub with an extraordinary and unusual room space full of ancient atmosphere 14th century. The pub was not full and had a mixture of locals and outsiders with a friendly vibe. The staff were helpful and looked after us very well. Good selection of wines and a great menu with some interesting and inspired combinations. Started with some Devilled scratchings which were an interesting twist on the traditional pork scratchings. Followed by Pan fried Pollock little gem and a green sauce which was delicious, one of us had a had lemon sole in breadcrumbs with a great home made tartar sauce, and I had the Herdwick Barnsley chop with lentils and aioli which was scrumptious and a great combination. Followed by a great rice pudding with rhubarb and also a damson ice cream as well as a Gorse flower ice cream which was really novel. A tasty and memorable evening in a beautiful old space, make sure your car is facing the right way as existing and arriving is a little tricky due to narrow lanes! Well worth a visit we will be back again. Thank you to all the staff.

Exceptional food, in a very atmospheric traditional village pub setting. Interesting menu showcasing local produce plus some pub favourites, perfectly executed. Delicious. And great service. This is a special place!
