Food, ambiance and service were all good. Took 45mins to get a ceviche appetizer because another table ordered 7 dozen oysters. We had to wait for our food until that entire order was completed by the raw bar sous. Would’ve been better to give that table oysters in waves and fill smaller orders in between. Like two dozen then smaller orders then another two dozen. Just a suggestion.
Food was decent, but service was very slow. Our dinner literally took about 2.5 hours because of extended wait times to order our courses, and the time it took for them to arrive.
We had really hoped for a nice relaxing dining experience but this was anything but that. We sat outdoors, but apparently there was an acoustic guitar / singer somewhere inside. Every time he was playing, they piped the music outside too and was PAINFULLY loud. We asked over and over for it to be turned down, but it took forever for them to do anything about it, and when they did there wasn’t much of a difference. So three of us around a table could barely hear each other while we were trying to talk to each other.
I also think this place is suffering from an identity crisis as to what they want to be. It seems to want to be a somewhat upscale dining experience, but there’s a couple of pool tables and foosball in the outdoor dining area, so it was an almost rowdy bar vibe instead of a nice dining experience.
All in all, yes the food was good, but we left disappointed at the entire experience of being there. It was definitely not what we hoped or expected.
Have eaten here before but was disappointed with food quality this time. Rockfish was expensive and had ammonia taste to it.
Arrived early for our reservation and got seated right away. The old fashioned's we ordered were great and the meals we got were very large portions and very tasty! Good atmosphere and crowd. Our waitress was very on top of everything. We'll be back for sure!
Staff was friendly and accommodating! Food was good! Great spot for a friendly gathering!
The hostesses and our waitress was great. I expected the music selection to be more diverse especially being in Baltimore with a diverse workforce and customer base but it was not. My husband had the wings that were just ok but at $14 (8) was a bit over priced. He also had the steak. It wasn't seasoned enough and cooked over (well done) should have been med. I had the MD crab soup, oysters and OG Mussels all were good. I also had the Mac and Cheese. It was very rich a d filling. I added lobster and that's where he took a turn. To add lobster it was $14 dollars. Lobster wasn't cooked in or sprinkled on top. The literally took the smallest lobster claws (3) that they could find and cut them in half (6 pieces) and placed them on top. To make matters worse 3 if the cut pieces still had the end of the claw that IS NOT edible. You can't eat that. It's not even meat. For $14 it should have been a shredded tail.
Our hostess Chase was amazing!!! She made my birthday dinner super special!!! Thank you so much
Great restaurant. We enjoyed the food and live music. Great outdoor seating!
The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was good. Great seating and ambiance. We'll definitely be back.
The food was great ! I will return when I visit Baltimore . Lindey was a great server and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the cocktails . Salad was fresh and the crab cake was just simply divine .
Good good, good and cool environment. We will be back.
The food and atmosphere was amazing, we had a great time. The only complaint was at the end they put a service charge fee on the bill which is actually gratuity and the server never told us, when asked she was rude about it and seemed like she wanted to double dip.
First time there. Wish I was there when it first opened to compare it to now .Since it had a dress code before I'm thinking why since the place is kinda plain. U gonna dress nice and sit on hard bench seat? Food was good though. Place very loud. Not very covid complaint either.
Choptank is one of my favorite places to dine at in Fells. Had a friend come in from out of town and as their first time in Maryland, they needed to try crab. Decided to come in for brunch and it did not disappoint!
The food was great and it was wonderful they had a full selection of crabs in this time of the shortage. The music was loud and made it a little difficult to carry on a conversation at our table.
Too many flies
Great for outside dining! Nice setting and ambiance
The manager, Jordan js the BOMB!!! He makes sure all is top notch. Third time going in jusf 2 weeks. My new favorite restaurant.
Great place to eat. Service is excellent along timely food service
Thomas, the manager, was incredibly attentive and helpful. When there was a mix-up with the reservation, it was handled with great care making sure our group was happy and well cared for.
Great food and service. Big disappointment of advertising on site they had valet parking but they don’t. Employee said they just say that so there employees have a place to park.
We went for crabs, but unfortunately they were out. The manager comped our drinks for the inconvenience. The oysters were ok. The street corn was drink. I would return..hopefully they will have crabs.
We were seated immediately and the food was great!
Our waiter, Shawn, was excellent. Very attentive and friendly. The outdoor patio and live music was the best part of the restaurant. It’s definitely an enjoyable restaurant, with pool tables, foosball etc, and the drinks are delicious. However, I’ve eaten here twice now, and the food itself is just average. You’re definitely paying more for the vibe and ambiance.
Good, pleasant service. Donuts fresh and tasty. Almost everything overloaded with salt and Old Bay: Bloody Mary and shrimp tacos were so over spiced with Old Bay that was all I could taste. As a Baltimore native I am very fond of this seasoning when lightly sprinkled on crabs and other seafood, but this was way too much.
Overpriced for the quality of our meal. Scratch Choptank from future dining options.
Excellent food & cocktails. Lovely service
it was great experience, outdoor seating was fantastic
Family environment, casual. The food is overpriced
Upon arrival we were trying to get a table and was told that it was reservations only band to check back around 10pm if we wanted to be seated which seemed a little weird but we didn’t pay it any mind. I went on the open table app and got an immediate reservation at 8:45, it was 8:30 when we initially arrived but other than that the service was great ambiance was really lively and the food was phenomenal. I definitely would come again and again
After a bad unwelcoming greeting from the indoor hostess, who put us at the noisiest table in the open area , when most of the booths were available.... Shawn and Anna Grace saved us by helping us get a empty booth and it was still only 615pm.
Their enthusiasm and positive energy got our party back on track and the food and drink options were exceptionally prepared and delicious. The cajun pasta dish is fantastic and so were the apps we tried. Excellent beer options too. Afterwards , the outside area was in full festive mode, great to hang out a little longer.
Centralized, historic location. We ate inside and ordered a few dozen oysters, some other seafood appetizers, and individual mains. While not mind-blowing, the food was pretty good. Service was very good considering how busy it seemed. Lots of folks and quite loud to hold conversations, both inside and outside. That said, would come here again.
The food was really delicious! Our server was incredible too!
Only complaint was parking is horrible! But once I located a parking garage not too far away, I was happy. Lol
The environment was very nice. I loved being outdoors. The live entertainment was nice. The food was not so good. The mussels were undercooked, the fish n chips was not good the fish was fried too hard and mushy on the inside and the fries were burnt and cold. The drinks were really good. Over all it was just ok.
The crabs were amazing!
The food was fair and the service was fine, not outstanding. The room was too hot. The temperature outside was low 70s, inside it was low 80s!
My experience was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The bartender even showed me how to properly crack a crab. I’ll
Definitely be headed back there soon.
The venue is fun, but inside the noise level because of the high ceiling and loud music make it almost impossible to talk. And we were there on a slow night. Otherwise this was our second time there, and we plan to go back.
